A very worthwhile book to read for many reasons。 I plan to read it again often。

Amazing book on mindset and warrior spirit。 Mark reveiles precious insights from the mind of a Navy SEAL and translates his concepts very well into the civilian and business world。 He also provides a lot of very helpful exercise which is absolutely amazing so that all the concepts can be trained!

More than a self-help book, it's a self-help system - or maybe better characterized as a self-discipline system。 You can dive in fully or dip your toe, but Mark Divine offers a holistic vision for ordering your life for personal and professional success that includes hacks and hints you've probably heard elsewhere - and much more。 Read with an eye to evaluating yourself and what you are willing to adopt; you don't need to submerge but you should take a swim。 More than a self-help book, it's a self-help system - or maybe better characterized as a self-discipline system。 You can dive in fully or dip your toe, but Mark Divine offers a holistic vision for ordering your life for personal and professional success that includes hacks and hints you've probably heard elsewhere - and much more。 Read with an eye to evaluating yourself and what you are willing to adopt; you don't need to submerge but you should take a swim。 。。。more

Man, this was a slog。 Too much good content to entirely abandon, but it wasn’t gripping enough to keep turning the pages on any sort of regular basis。 Ie: I picked it up and put it down until I finally flipped the final page 35 months after I flipped the first one。 No one can question that SEALs are badasses, but this is probably better for someone invested in the organization。 Still, it was an interesting pivot。 I’m all about mental toughness and emotional and spiritual strength, but I’ll perso Man, this was a slog。 Too much good content to entirely abandon, but it wasn’t gripping enough to keep turning the pages on any sort of regular basis。 Ie: I picked it up and put it down until I finally flipped the final page 35 months after I flipped the first one。 No one can question that SEALs are badasses, but this is probably better for someone invested in the organization。 Still, it was an interesting pivot。 I’m all about mental toughness and emotional and spiritual strength, but I’ll personally stick with books by monks and other stop-and-sniff-the-flowers types going forward。 。。。more

Blinkist。 Generic personal success advice from the perspective of a Navy seal。 Meh。

Loved this book。 I would recommend to anyone who is involved in a leadership role。 I have a feeling I will read this book a few times。

I am typically very skeptical and therefore very critical of self help books。 The vast majority of them are, in my opinion, almost useless bromide。 This book is much better than the vast majority of books I have read in this genre in that it is more practical and much less emotionally centered。 This book comes the closest to reaching the pinnacle of practicality, which is The Seven Habits, that I have ever read and has some actionable items that I can actually apply。

Sigh。 I mean, it's well-written。 I'm just tired of these business performance/self-help/using-ancient-Asian-war-techniques-to-succeed-in-Capitalism b0oks。 Sigh。 I mean, it's well-written。 I'm just tired of these business performance/self-help/using-ancient-Asian-war-techniques-to-succeed-in-Capitalism b0oks。 。。。more

I won a copy of this book from Goodreads and I loved it and still have my autographed copy on my bookshelf。

Extreme ownership is a better read on this topic

Solid, usable recommendations to implement in daily life to be more goal-oriented and reflective。

Mark Divine quit his job to become a Navy Seal and uses the way of the seal to create his own training programs, successfully teaching men to transform their lives by doing 20x what they believe they’re capable。 With a last name of Divine, it’s no surprise he’s a soldier with a strong spiritual bend。 It’s true that he has many corny phrases and acronyms like mind gym but he’s right about the techniques。 Often, it’s easier to to implement something if it’s easy to remember。

I'm not sure if I love this books cuz he teaches how to push your self a little more than what you think you are capable of if I just love the book cuz he adds a lot of quotations from my favorite authors, but one thing I'm sure, Mark Divine has the right idea and set up the right questions of daily basis or business activities to be sure that you are reaching your highest potential, use this book as a guide, as programming of your mindset to move forward with your goals and business。Worth readi I'm not sure if I love this books cuz he teaches how to push your self a little more than what you think you are capable of if I just love the book cuz he adds a lot of quotations from my favorite authors, but one thing I'm sure, Mark Divine has the right idea and set up the right questions of daily basis or business activities to be sure that you are reaching your highest potential, use this book as a guide, as programming of your mindset to move forward with your goals and business。Worth reading。 。。。more

Clearly the author has a lot of experience on which to base the information in this book。 It simply did not appeal to me but there is a lot of great, useful information in the on motivating yourself and others under stress。

Top-notch read! If you are hungry to follow your dreams, read this book to sharpen your competitive skills。

It was okay。 Basic ideas, just couched in military/seal terms that I think just mainly appeal to a mostly male/macho audience。 I picked it up because I thought it would have some good tips on cultivating self discipline。 It sort of did that, but certainly not really in depth。 A couple of stories, and then on to the next principle, so there's a full list that can be trademarked and sold。 Meh。 Develop a purpose, set goals, challenge yourself, practice self discipline, and then some woo-woo mediati It was okay。 Basic ideas, just couched in military/seal terms that I think just mainly appeal to a mostly male/macho audience。 I picked it up because I thought it would have some good tips on cultivating self discipline。 It sort of did that, but certainly not really in depth。 A couple of stories, and then on to the next principle, so there's a full list that can be trademarked and sold。 Meh。 Develop a purpose, set goals, challenge yourself, practice self discipline, and then some woo-woo mediation/connect to your subconscious kind of new age-y self development speak。 I probably missed a principle in there, but you can bet it involved drawing a weak parallel from some death defying seal mission to some business process。 This book's major appeal, and I admit it appealed to me too, is thinking that some average joe/jane business leader can see something in the ultra disciplined seal in themselves。 The info itself is fairly ordinary。 。。。more

2。5。。。。 some information was beneficial, but not my cup of tea。

I listened the audiobook。 The author provides some good advices and techniques for be more effective and achieve your goals based on his own experience as a Seal and entrepreneur。 The book provides a lot of information and some exercises for each chapter。

There are loads of exercises that can help physically, emotionally, and mentally。 My favorite is the Box Breathing activity。 It greatly improved my habit of meditating。

Un libro muy practico, con ejercicios que vale la pena hacer。

Lots of business jargon and cliche, little substance。 Perhaps the first SEAL book I didn’t like。 There is some occasional nuggets of wisdom but so much filler it’s hard to find them。 Each chapter has a new framework or acronym for a common sense approach to problem solving, making the author sound like a MBA droning on in the longest and most boring conference call ever。 Should be about half the length and would still feel like a stretch。

Jose

Excellent book, I strongly recommend it。

Payne Indahass

Ok book, mind gym was greatest tip for me。

Kevin Simanek

Had a couple good points and recommended practices, but found myself rushing through it out of boredom。 His points were backed with shallow descriptions and life experiences。 I would recommend reading the simple principles the author provides (chapter titles), but other books provide better information。
