I'm in love with this volume。 There are so many commentary in here that I want to talk about。 There is a heartbreaking scene that made me cry and I didn't expect to cry but I did because I was attached to the character。 Here are the things I want to talk about:1) The potrayal of robots - The line between the robots and humans are slowly become blurry where robots like Gesicht, Atom, Mont Blanc and Brando are starting to feel some sort of emotions- Atom, the young looking robot boy who was influe I'm in love with this volume。 There are so many commentary in here that I want to talk about。 There is a heartbreaking scene that made me cry and I didn't expect to cry but I did because I was attached to the character。 Here are the things I want to talk about:1) The potrayal of robots - The line between the robots and humans are slowly become blurry where robots like Gesicht, Atom, Mont Blanc and Brando are starting to feel some sort of emotions- Atom, the young looking robot boy who was influenced by Astro Boy from Osamu Tezuka was the superior and advanced in intelligence here had feelings as shown in the manga。 He was able to empathize with others despite the notion of robots are weapons or machines without emotions。- There was commentary on memories, how human were able to forget traumatic memories but for robots, they live with the memories even the worst one unless the memories were deleted from the data。 This speaks a lot on how some people aren't able to forget and these robots suffered from painful memories。 There is also alteration of memories such as fake memories being planted in them thus making them question which one is true2) War affected humans and even robots- This depiction of wars rang true until this day。 They question for what purpose is the war for, the hate and anger inflicted in people- the robots were created as a weapon of destruction and even them, they don't want to get involved in the war which North Star No。 2 show how much he doesnt want to go back to the war- This war are not helping and instead massacre the innocents which is prevalent till now with the Palestinian being oppressed and killed bcus of the Israelis- War is not needed to achieve peace and unity。 It need to be stopped and rejected3) Subtle but prominent theme of discrimination/racism- We mostly looks at the human and robots living together in the society where in this world even robots were given rights and have their own laws。 - but they are being treated as junk/machines without souls/ weapons- everytime these robots appear, the humans will discriminates them saying even if they had higher intelligence, they can never understand feelings or emotions like human being does。 They will never appreciate the taste of foods or enjoy pleasure because robots ultimately emotionless。- all of these robots can do is pretend to be human which showed that humans are being racist/discriminatory towards them - this does ties a lot to the real world where people are racist to other people just because they are different but in here its robots vs humansI cannot stressed enough how much I learn so much from this manga particularly this volume。 There are so many great elements discussed in here and I'm intrigued to read more。 。。。more

I can see why this series is one of the best for sc-fi because sci-fi is a genre I avoid but while reading this I actually found it interesting but only for a while。

The story is really ramping up in this volume。 First volume was kinda slow to get the ball rolling, but this volume has tons of character development at play。 Excited to continue。

*Score: 9。5/10* I love this so much so far, great mix of action, plot, characters, really good pacing, and just rich with so many themes that are close to me such as memories, grief, family, and here in this volume we get to even understand more on the politics of the world, and history of war。 Such a fan, 6 more volumes to go!

This volume was emotional, and as it seems childerns play a big role in naoki stories

“I can still remember that war, fresh and clear。 。 。 The mountains of robot bodies。 。 。 And then I learned 。 。 。 Bloodlust。 But ever since then, I haven’t been able to destroy my opponents。 What would humans call this?”“Pity?”“Hey。 Do you think。 。 。 We’re evolving?”—Legitimately this manga is fucking incredible everything about it is making me fucking insane also I LOVE Atom I love Atom so much

Book blurb: In a distant future where sentient humanoid robots pass for human, someone or some thing is out to destroy the seven great robots of the world。This second installment of this manga series was so much better than the first。 The art continues to be good, and I enjoyed the philosophical musings。 The murders are racking up, and seriously who would not love Atom?

The story continues to develop in interesting ways。 Urasawa writes these robots with a significant amount of empathy and deepens the world meaningfully。
