Summary

There will be plenty of time for me to beat him soundly once I’ve gotten what I came for。

Sent on a mission to retrieve an ancient hidden map—the key to a legendary treasure trove—seventeen-year-old pirate captain Alosa deliberately allows herself to be captured by her enemies, giving her the perfect opportunity to search their ship。

More than a match for the ruthless pirate crew, Alosa has only one thing standing between her and the map: her captor, the unexpectedly clever and unfairly attractive first mate, Riden。 But not to worry, for Alosa has a few tricks up her sleeve, and no lone pirate can stop the Daughter of the Pirate King。

I liked this book a lot。 Loved the main-character’s energy, girlboss baddie!! And i was so rooting for riden and alosa so that was def good。 It did read a bit like a wattpad book, but i need that from time to time。 Liked the plot but it was nothing special。 I am going to read the sequel though!!

It's a kind of book that makes you ask yourself: "what am I reading?"The story is supposed to be about a pirate-king's daughter, but it was more about a Zeus's offspring, a female version of Hercules or something。and the conflict seemed childish enough。Stockholm syndrome AF。There were many holes in the plot too:1)The pirate king comfortably has spies and allies all over the planet。 They just pop up whenever the characters are in need of them。2)The female lead (pirate's daughter) goes in another It's a kind of book that makes you ask yourself: "what am I reading?"The story is supposed to be about a pirate-king's daughter, but it was more about a Zeus's offspring, a female version of Hercules or something。and the conflict seemed childish enough。Stockholm syndrome AF。There were many holes in the plot too:1)The pirate king comfortably has spies and allies all over the planet。 They just pop up whenever the characters are in need of them。2)The female lead (pirate's daughter) goes in another pirate ship to do a mission for the pirate king。But if he's the king why not sending an army or something to do the mission instead of sending a lone girl that comfortably possesses powers like Zeus。3)Plus it claims that there's already a good spy in that ship that could do the job。 But she has no idea who is it。。。 is that even possible? to put charge a spy and not know who he is? that was stupid。Overall it was mehhhh。。。If you're looking for a book, a challenging one with a potential plot that consists piracy and sea and a bit of romance, I'd definitely recommend: Raiders from the SeaThe same category but with no piracy but a little bit fantasy, I'd recommend: The Changeling Sea 。。。more

I really quit enjoyed this book。 I found it to be a fast read and action packed enough to fully grip my attention。 The world building was fun, I loved the character development making more than a few of this cast enduring。 Over all a very fun read。

Loved every second of it !

A good read, was fairly short but entertaining。 Pirate stories are always fun and I found this to be a very genuine pirate adventure full of swashbuckling。 Alosa, is the daughter of the pirate king, is sent on a mission to retrieve a part of a map from an enemy ship。 She purposely gets herself kidnapped in order to search the boat for the missing piece。 Things prove to be trickier than she imagined when first mate Riden proves himself to be a worthy foe, who she can’t help feeling attracted to。 A good read, was fairly short but entertaining。 Pirate stories are always fun and I found this to be a very genuine pirate adventure full of swashbuckling。 Alosa, is the daughter of the pirate king, is sent on a mission to retrieve a part of a map from an enemy ship。 She purposely gets herself kidnapped in order to search the boat for the missing piece。 Things prove to be trickier than she imagined when first mate Riden proves himself to be a worthy foe, who she can’t help feeling attracted to。 Overall I had a fun time reading it。 If I did have one criticism, it took me a little while to get into the book because of the language。 It started off very much telling instead of showing (if that makes sense)。 It made the book feel a slightly juvenile because of that, but once I got into the book that problem disappeared。 It ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, so looks like I’m gonna have to read the sequel。 Would recommend to any pirate fans out there! 。。。more

Amazing story! The world-building was perfect, the romance was cute and not spicy, each character was so well-developed! Five stars! I try to avoid fantasy because it can be confusing at times, but this book did it all perfectly!

2。5 stars。the plot was kinda fun but nothing particularly stood out as amazing。 i found most of the romance cringy or boring and i didn’t feel any connection to the characters。 the writing wasn’t the best but overall the book was okay。 tbh i wouldn’t recommend。

4。5 stars! An easy read with witty responses, tension, and action! Alosa is taken "captive" by a ship of pirates; little do they know that they are falling into her plan accordingly。 Alose is a strong and independent woman who is very intelligent by knowing how to trick the pirates into thinking she is nothing but weak and scared。 The tension between Alosa and Riden is fun; Riden tries so hard to keep away from her but fails every time and is drawn to her too easily。 An aspect of this book that 4。5 stars! Imagine the girl version of Jack Sparrow, without the drinking, the swearing, and half his age。 Cute, light-hearted, PG-13-type of romance/adventure。 Definitely targeted towards teenage audience, though could be very much enjoyed by others as well。

2 starsAlosa gets herself kidnapped by rival pirates to search their ship for the missing piece to a map leading to great treasure。I switched between hating and liking Alosa so many times during this book and have ultimately decided I just don’t care about her。 She knows she’s not like other girls but she definitely isn’t like other girls so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ This book was just really childish。 She was a prisoner for crying out loud yet she got her dresses and pretty much whatever she wanted。 Half of th 2 starsAlosa gets herself kidnapped by rival pirates to search their ship for the missing piece to a map leading to great treasure。I switched between hating and liking Alosa so many times during this book and have ultimately decided I just don’t care about her。 She knows she’s not like other girls but she definitely isn’t like other girls so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ This book was just really childish。 She was a prisoner for crying out loud yet she got her dresses and pretty much whatever she wanted。 Half of the book is her treating Riden like they’re on Love Island together。 Instead of like he’s her CAPTOR。 But then she’s like oh it’s all part of my plan but then she catches the hots anyway。 This book was just dumb。 The climax wasn’t really a climax。 It doesn’t leave you wanting to read the next book。 Maybe approach this like it’s fanfic and insert your otp to the two main characters。 I think this could be a four star read with that approach。 。。。more

I listened to this book in 3 blocks。 The first 2 blocks (about 6 hours or so) while knitting and the last hour while gardening。 It had been a long time since I read the blurb so the enemies-to-lovers sub-plot was unexpected but seen from a mile away at the first panic attack Alosa had when she realized Riden was attractive。 Note to all you pirates out there, you are allowed to think that the pirate that kidnapped you is attractive as an objective fact。 Just try not to fall for the guy。 I saw mos I listened to this book in 3 blocks。 The first 2 blocks (about 6 hours or so) while knitting and the last hour while gardening。 It had been a long time since I read the blurb so the enemies-to-lovers sub-plot was unexpected but seen from a mile away at the first panic attack Alosa had when she realized Riden was attractive。 Note to all you pirates out there, you are allowed to think that the pirate that kidnapped you is attractive as an objective fact。 Just try not to fall for the guy。 I saw most of the twists ahead of time。 I knew where the map was since basically the beginning which more then a little frustrating (it felt like she was playing hide and seek with a baby) but her awesomeness made up for it。 The more I learned about Alosa's past, the more I wished her mother (another thing I saw coming) had kept her far away from her father。 The Pirate King is definitely on my Characters I Would Like to Murder list (which I should really write down) and Draxen is a good contender。 Will I read the next one? Not sure。 But it was a good book and very entertaining。 。。。more
