This book is about life during Covid。 I found it very moving and touching。 I also enjoyed the art。
Thomas Helean,
I thought this book was very colorful and very joyful。 The book did not have much content within it and the story seemed quite bland。 I liked the modern approach to the story and many children can probably relate to seeing their friends on the computer as opposed to in-person。 I believe the 'rainstorm' in the book may be representing the pandemic but that's just a guess。 I thought this book was very colorful and very joyful。 The book did not have much content within it and the story seemed quite bland。 I liked the modern approach to the story and many children can probably relate to seeing their friends on the computer as opposed to in-person。 I believe the 'rainstorm' in the book may be representing the pandemic but that's just a guess。 。。。more

Cute little story about dealing with the emotions of the lockdown
Ana Calabresi,
A COVID-time story。 Lovely。
Myles Wolfe,
For young readers struggling with their isolation from their friends and relatives this book provides some useful things to do to fight those feelings。 For children with big feelings and emotions :)
Barry,
A very good story for small children。 It will teach the colours of the rainbow and the community spirit faced during lockdowns and school closures。
Dianna Rainey,
This book is a shinning example of how we as parents, teachers, or caregivers can turn any day stuck at home due to rather unsavory circumstances into a day filled with art, creativity, and love for the community。 I am extremely happy to have this book on my shelf and I am sure I will be pulling it out quite a bit。 If you are in search of a book that is feel good and inspiring, look no further。
Beth,
This book was written in the circumstance of the COVID-19 pandemic and being locked down in our homes。 Though this story could potentially apply to other situations, I would have liked to see some backmatter that positioned this story in our current historical moment。

Annie,
A reassuring story obviously inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns。
Gee,
Idk if I was just Feeling It on the day I read this, but it made me tear up。 This is such a cute, hopeful story with really lovely illustrations。
Dimity Powell,
Delightful premise, noble set up。 I especially loved the use of collage and crayon in the illustrations which augment fun and hope, joy and connectedness。
Ms Threlkeld,
Sweet rhyming story about focusing on the positive during the pandemic。
Laine,
perfect reading for these times。 not explicitly about the 2020 pandemic, but i can see that kids are going to connect with this book very easily。
Ann Sawyer,
Ideal book for sharing with children who are worried about COVID-19
Emma,
I really loved this book and think it would be great to share in the classroom at the moment。 It documents the difficulties of lockdown, such as loneliness and missing friends and family but it also has really positive solutions which might not be perfect but they help whilst we wait 'for the storm to pass'。 It could really help children to think about how they can respond to difficult situations and little things they might be able to do to make things easier。 It also represents realities as it I really loved this book and think it would be great to share in the classroom at the moment。 It documents the difficulties of lockdown, such as loneliness and missing friends and family but it also has really positive solutions which might not be perfect but they help whilst we wait 'for the storm to pass'。 It could really help children to think about how they can respond to difficult situations and little things they might be able to do to make things easier。 It also represents realities as it includes a BAME family and a child in a wheelchair, although only as minor characters。 It helps to bring some positivity to the situation by thinking of all the memories that we will all be able to make when things are back to normal。 Children could think about what they're most looking forward to。 It also includes art and colour mixing which children could have a go at。 I think this book would be great to share with children of all ages but particularly those up to year 3。 。。。more
Sandy Brehl,
This bright and charming story in verse involves an entire family supporting the young girl's loneliness when a "rainstorm" makes her family (and ALL families) "stay home"。 The story arc makes the rainstorm feel like an analogy to current covid isolation and could be quite comforting to young children。 This bright and charming story in verse involves an entire family supporting the young girl's loneliness when a "rainstorm" makes her family (and ALL families) "stay home"。 The story arc makes the rainstorm feel like an analogy to current covid isolation and could be quite comforting to young children。 。。。more

TannaHill,
A lovely, rather heartwarming picture book of a little girl who draws a rainbow to put in her window。 A great book for young children in lockdown。 Covers emotions and the difficulties faced in not being able to see friends or family。 Loved the illustrations and the colours。 A definite keeper in these tricky times。
Emma M。,
If you have a little one who is having a hard time with all the change that COVID has brought into our lives, then this is a book that they will relate with and maybe find some comfort in。 Honestly, this book felt like the hug so many of us have needed this year。
Ella,
A beautiful story about a little girl coping through lockdown。 It covers feels of loneliness but also hope and is told in a very positive way。 A fantastic book to help children understand lockdown without the negative associations often with it。
Laura Reed,
The World Made a Rainbow is an adorable look a child's view of lockdown, I think it would be useful to ease the fears of children worrying about the virus and what their life is like。 It has a strong emphasis on family, having a good supoort network and being patient。 This too shall pass。 The World Made a Rainbow is an adorable look a child's view of lockdown, I think it would be useful to ease the fears of children worrying about the virus and what their life is like。 It has a strong emphasis on family, having a good supoort network and being patient。 This too shall pass。 。。。more

I felt this was a truly lovely picture book that skilfully deals with the complex emotions that children have had to navigate during the pandemic lockdown。 It's beautifully written, weaving together the fun craft activity of creating a rainbow with the difficult emotions it stirs up。 It does this without sentimentality, just a positive message of understanding that it's been hard but that we will come through it together。 A simple yet powerful story with illustrations that perfectly compliment t I felt this was a truly lovely picture book that skilfully deals with the complex emotions that children have had to navigate during the pandemic lockdown。 It's beautifully written, weaving together the fun craft activity of creating a rainbow with the difficult emotions it stirs up。 It does this without sentimentality, just a positive message of understanding that it's been hard but that we will come through it together。 A simple yet powerful story with illustrations that perfectly compliment the text。 An excellent book to share with children。 。。。more

This is a lovely book which I read with my daughter and we really enjoyed it。 The book is about a little girl who makes a rainbow to put on her window, using art supplies and other objects around the house, while she is in lockdown with her family。 I liked the positivity of the book and how the little girl felt safe while she interacted with her friends and family, even though she had to stay at home。 Many thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an h This is a lovely book which I read with my daughter and we really enjoyed it。 The book is about a little girl who makes a rainbow to put on her window, using art supplies and other objects around the house, while she is in lockdown with her family。 I liked the positivity of the book and how the little girl felt safe while she interacted with her friends and family, even though she had to stay at home。 Many thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

Such a charming little book!!This book reflects the crazy time that is/was COVID-19 and looks at it from the point of view of a small child。 (it doesn't specifically refer to covid, but we all know that is what its based on) The story is centred by the making of a rainbow to put in the window - but I feel its so much more than that。It looks at the idea of family and friends, and that they are the most important things。I really liked how the characters looked at previous photo memories in the mem Such a charming little book!!This book reflects the crazy time that is/was COVID-19 and looks at it from the point of view of a small child。 (it doesn't specifically refer to covid, but we all know that is what its based on) The story is centred by the making of a rainbow to put in the window - but I feel its so much more than that。It looks at the idea of family and friends, and that they are the most important things。I really liked how the characters looked at previous photo memories in the memory box, and then aimed to add more to it。The illustrations were great - and felt kind of old fashioned。 They reminded me of the books I read in my childhood 30 years ago。It was very charming and heartwarming! Review to be added to Amazon UK and US on 17th September – publication day! I thought it was well written and it was a good book to read as we are going through the current Covid-19 pandemic。 The images are nice and bright too and help bring the story to life。I thought that it was a great way to explain to children why they were not able to play with friends and see family, luckily some of the rules have since relaxed but they could come back if there is a resurgence。 It is 4 stars from me for t Review to be added to Amazon UK and US on 17th September – publication day!
