So I've had a proof of this one for about six months now (thanks to my babe Danielle receiving two and sending one on to me ❤) and with the third in the series being released this week, Meet Me In Tahiti, I thought it was time for me to catch up with the second in the series。Did I love Malie's story as much as I loved Victoria's? I wasn’t sure what to expect of this book because it was the first time I’d read anything by Georgia, and had her firmly in my head as an influencer (and I’m a Celeb winner) rather than author, but I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed Meet me in Hawaii。 It’s chick lit through and through - female protagonist who falls for a good guy but fights it in self protection。 That said, I thought the inclusion of a male character with arguably more vulnerability, who was ultimately the ‘chaser’, I wasn’t sure what to expect of this book because it was the first time I’d read anything by Georgia, and had her firmly in my head as an influencer (and I’m a Celeb winner) rather than author, but I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed Meet me in Hawaii。 It’s chick lit through and through - female protagonist who falls for a good guy but fights it in self protection。 That said, I thought the inclusion of a male character with arguably more vulnerability, who was ultimately the ‘chaser’, made a refreshing change from the typical male/female dynamic in chick lit at large。 The Hawaii setting placed it as a firm feel good beach read, and actually was a refreshing choice with a lot of the action focusing around Malie’s surf school (another nice touch in ever so slightly subverting the female character stereotypes)。 Overall, this was an easy and enjoyable read that I’d recommend for some summer escapism。 My only criticism is that it did get mildly frustrating when they *still* hadn’t got together yet (about 4/5ths of the way through) and I found myself eye rolling and wondering when I’d get my closure, but thankfully I wasn’t disappointed in the end! 。。。more

From reading this book, I have firmly decided that Malie is my favourite of the 4 friends。Malie reminds me a LOT of myself。 Fierce, determined, stubborn at times (ha!) and this book did brilliantly in showing how people can overcome their guilt and fear surrounding death。 It’s a love story, first and foremost, but it is also a story about self love, appreciation and learning how to get there。 Toff is an incredible romance fiction writer, who makes it very easy to put yourself in the shoes of the From reading this book, I have firmly decided that Malie is my favourite of the 4 friends。Malie reminds me a LOT of myself。 Fierce, determined, stubborn at times (ha!) and this book did brilliantly in showing how people can overcome their guilt and fear surrounding death。 It’s a love story, first and foremost, but it is also a story about self love, appreciation and learning how to get there。 Toff is an incredible romance fiction writer, who makes it very easy to put yourself in the shoes of the main character。 And she matches people perfectly together。 I think Todd really is Malie’s perfect match。I’m so excited to read about Zoe & Lily’s stories, but I think it’s safe to say that Malie will stay my favourite。 I rate this 5/5, if I could rate it 6, I would。 。。。more

I've had this book sat on my TBR for way too long and I'm so glad I finally made the decision to read this series, especially after enjoying Meet Me in London quite as much as I did。In this book we meet Malie, one of the four girls that this series is based on, who has relocated to working for her uncle's surf school in Hawaii after the death of her brother and the fragile relationship with her parents。 From Meet Me in London we know a little bit about Malie's past but I loved finding out more a I've had this book sat on my TBR for way too long and I'm so glad I finally made the decision to read this series, especially after enjoying Meet Me in London quite as much as I did。In this book we meet Malie, one of the four girls that this series is based on, who has relocated to working for her uncle's surf school in Hawaii after the death of her brother and the fragile relationship with her parents。 From Meet Me in London we know a little bit about Malie's past but I loved finding out more about her and how she felt about things。From the very start of this book there is drama and as soon as Malie and Todd meet there are fireworks, you can tell instantly that something is going to happen between them and you just know it will be magical。 However, it soon becomes clear that there is more to Todd to and even though both Malie and Todd clearly have feelings for each other, they are both very conscious that this can't be anything more than friendship。The sizzles between them never stop though and I couldn't wait for things to progress with them even though it kept looking less and less likely。 Malie is so consumed by her past, thinking that she doesn't deserve happiness and I really thought that things weren't going to go the way that I hoped。 That was until Zoe enters - who btw, I absolutely LOVE, and starts trying to talk a bit of sense into Malie。I was left grinning so much when it got to the end of this book though, Tara is just the best kid ever and it was so enlightening and heartwarming to see her throwing caution to the wind and enjoying herself regardless of what others thought - the moment that Malie gets her on the surf board with Nala was probably one of my favourite moments of this book! Now I just can't wait to make a start on Meet Me in Tahiti! 。。。more

This is the second book in the ‘meet me’ series, the first one being ‘Meet me in London’ which I read over Christmas and loved。 This series focuses on four women, and the strong friendship between them, each book following one woman in particular。 I adore these characters and their bond with each other, in particular their ‘lost hours’ phone call rule。 It reminds me of my own five best friends who I know would be there for me no matter what 💕This one picks up the storyline where Meet me in Londo This is the second book in the ‘meet me’ series, the first one being ‘Meet me in London’ which I read over Christmas and loved。 This series focuses on four women, and the strong friendship between them, each book following one woman in particular。 I adore these characters and their bond with each other, in particular their ‘lost hours’ phone call rule。 It reminds me of my own five best friends who I know would be there for me no matter what 💕This one picks up the storyline where Meet me in London left off, only this time instead of Victoria in snowy London, there is a change in climate and we follow Malie, who lives in Hawaii and works at a surfing school。 I adored this, it was such an easy read feel good romance, and the setting is perfect for summery days and leaves you craving a beach holiday! This was beautifully written, and I loved the character development and how Malie progressed by the end。 The whirlwind romance was perfect, and I loved the relationship between Malie and Todd, from the dramatic way they meet to the way they both have to fight the demons in their past before they can move on。 I’m moving on to the third in the series now and can’t wait to keep following this storyline and see what happens next! 。。。more

This is a very easy read where you know right from the start how it is going to end。 In this book, however, there was very little content and most of it read as padding。 Huge chunks could be removed and it would make no difference to the narrative。 Once again, the characters and plot reflect Georgia Toffolo and her life with very little depiction of alternatives。 Even the child sounded like an adult from Chelsea and like no other 10 year old that I've met。 However, this isn't aimed at my demogra This is a very easy read where you know right from the start how it is going to end。 In this book, however, there was very little content and most of it read as padding。 Huge chunks could be removed and it would make no difference to the narrative。 Once again, the characters and plot reflect Georgia Toffolo and her life with very little depiction of alternatives。 Even the child sounded like an adult from Chelsea and like no other 10 year old that I've met。 However, this isn't aimed at my demographic and I'm sure the target audience will lap it up。 。。。more

Such a beautifully told story! Not only does it tell the tale of a love story in Hawaii, but it also talks about grief and how this makes a relationship complicated。 Definitely recommend giving this a read。

In reality 2。5 stars。It took me a very long time to get into this book, then the middle but was good but it fell a bit flat at the end, it a classic Mills&Boon though so that was nice。

Another brilliant book from Georgia Toffolo, the perfect summer read transported to the island of Hawaii! I absolutely loved Mali’s friendship and her history, the characters were very likeable which made for a lovely read。 I can’t wait for Toffolo’s next instalment later this year!

A feelgood book, that you can just listen to as the author also narrates the audiobook。 Toff has such a chipper voice that you just feel better reading/listening to it。 Getting lost in the characters and wanting to be in Hawaii yourself and surfing along the North Shore。

A lovely nice easy holiday read。 I am very much craving a beach holiday now。 Yes rom com/chick lit is predictable but that’s what I like。 You know who will end up with who but it’s the journey to get there。 Now time for a trip to the beach 🏖 and a cocktail 🍹

*some spoilers*I didn't like this book。 I wanted to but I just couldn't。"Meet Me In Hawaii" was chosen as a bookclub pick for the start of the summer, going along with our theme of 'we can't travel in real life so let's do it in book form'。 I was initially optimistic: a romance, a beach。 Who could object? *spoilers below*Firstly, I couldn't get on board (pun intended) with Malie, the protagonist。 It seemed as though she was given to long periods of introspection on her unworthiness of love etc a *some spoilers*I didn't like this book。 I wanted to but I just couldn't。"Meet Me In Hawaii" was chosen as a bookclub pick for the start of the summer, going along with our theme of 'we can't travel in real life so let's do it in book form'。 I was initially optimistic: a romance, a beach。 Who could object? *spoilers below*Firstly, I couldn't get on board (pun intended) with Malie, the protagonist。 It seemed as though she was given to long periods of introspection on her unworthiness of love etc and despite reminders from Zoe and Todd, she never made a whole lot of progress on this line of thinking until the very end of the book。 She also seemed unrealistically perfect, her only flaw was her inability to believe she was worthy of Todd yet this was how she honoured her brother's death so it came from a noble place (so not really a flaw)。Secondly, the pacing was too slow and led to some repetitiveness。 I thought if she had another internal monologue about how doomed she was, I would throw my kindle out the window。 Given that from the moment these characters meet there's a mutual attraction and Malie spends a ton of time thinking about how handsome he is etc, it took a long time for any action to happen and then when it did, it was pretty brief。 If she spent 100 pages thinking about how excellent it would be to get with him, I want at least 5 pages of steam when she finally does。 In the last few chapters there's a complete 180 and the plot picks up to warp speed。 Everything happens in the space of a few pages and it feels like there's not much room to enjoy their reunion。 Lastly, I felt there was a lack in the writing style at different points during the book。 Several lines of dialogue between Malie/Todd and the kids felt very much like an adult trying to write how they think kids speak。 This was the same when she used surfing slang, it didn't resonate with the tone of her inner monologue at all and felt forced。 There was also a lot of repetition in the characters attraction to each other。 I can only enjoy the phrase "heady scent" so many times。 As I said at the start, I wanted to like this book。 I was hoping for that feel-good, I-hope-they-get-together, rooting for them romance but it just didn't happen。 。。。more
