Summary

H。P。 Lovecraft's The Call of Cthulhu， first published in 1928， is one of the greatest classics of American horror literature。 Cthulhu himself， dreaming and waiting at the bottom of the sea， became a symbol for the entire mythology that Lovecraft created。 François Baranger， an illustrator who has previously worked in film and games， was fascinated early on by Lovecraft's creatures and visions which populated the darkest recesses of fantasy。 In this book， he has taken on the work of illustrating Lovecraft's most iconic novel。

Je dois avouer que j’ai été assez déçue par ce livre。。 je m’attendais à une histoire terrifiante à la Stephen King et je me suis retrouvée face à un livre assez complexe à lire et une narration difficile à suivre。。。La fin m’a également laissée très perplexe， je me suis dit « c’est ça la fin ？ »， comme si l’histoire n’était pas vraiment clôturée

Really beautifully illustrated。 This book is huge。 Story was dark & cool。 Honestly， it took some effort to read。 It’s slower paced and written 80（？） years ago so the language is different。 I read most of this aloud to myself to keep from nodding off sounds like a knock。 It’s not meant to。

Stort fan av denna novell！ Älskar lovecraft målande språk och den stämning bara han kunde skapa， bilderna tillför sin egen dimension till berättelsen och jag tror att lovecraft själv hade varit riktigt nöjd！ Rekommenderar varmt denna bok！

H。P。 Lovecrafts Vision war wohl nie visuell eindrucksvoller und treffender in Szene gesetzt worden。 Barangers Bilder sind von epischer wie atmosphärischer Qualität und fangen den Lovecraft Vibe， der schon so viele andere Medien befallen hat， perfekt ein。 Einen Stern Abzug （halb ist ja nicht möglich） gibt es nur für die nicht mehr ganz taufrische Übersetzung die hier verwendet wurde。 Die Neuübersetzung der Leslie S。 Klinger Ausgabe wäre wünschenswert gewesen。
