AHHHH the finale！！ so happy to see how far mashiro and takagi have come <33 and I really love what takagi said about manga and life being the same （（or was that in book #19？？））。 in summary--this series is funny and entertaining and exciting and has good art and amazing， hilarious characters， and is all about the creative process and the competitive industry of getting one's creation out there， and it's inspiring and just a really fun， good read！！obviously， there are some things that I don't nece AHHHH the finale！！ so happy to see how far mashiro and takagi have come <33 and I really love what takagi said about manga and life being the same （（or was that in book #19？？））。 in summary--this series is funny and entertaining and exciting and has good art and amazing， hilarious characters， and is all about the creative process and the competitive industry of getting one's creation out there， and it's inspiring and just a really fun， good read！！obviously， there are some things that I don't necessarily appreciate/approve/like，， but I find that most of those things are something that while I would critisize in real life， in this book， I'm going to let it be bc the authors might just be writing it as it is。 eg， how artists and editors are trying to include pictures of girls' underwear in the manga。。。 not something I'd appreciate ever irl， but pretty sure it's realistic about manga， so。。！ and I saw some reviews saying that the writers treated Mr。 Nakai too kindly for the jerk he was，，， unfortunately， I gotta agree that I didn't like him either *sigh* there were also parts of the story that would be quite unrealistic/dumb in real life （eg， agreeing to marry your crush whom you'd only sAt nEXt to iN sCHooL and neVer eVen sPOkeN wiTH） but it made for interesting drama and a fun story， so I'm overlooking all of that bc I'm smart enough to know what works in books but doesn't work in real life lolBUT all that aside。。。 if you want to read a good manga series， HERE IT IS。all the love for this story， and sure as crow am I gonna be reading the authors' other series， death note。ps，，， eiji nizuma is still the best character， love him to pieces。 。。。more

This brings us to the long anticipated end: an anime where Mihu does the voice of the main female character。 I enjoyed rereading this series this year （and reading some of these volumes for the first time）。 There are problems with the work -- for example， how the female characters are portrayed and treated through out; the fact that everyone idolizes Mihu and Mashiro's relationship， when it seems like the most ridiculous thing ever; some parts get a little preachy， especially talking about the s This brings us to the long anticipated end: an anime where Mihu does the voice of the main female character。 I enjoyed rereading this series this year （and reading some of these volumes for the first time）。 There are problems with the work -- for example， how the female characters are portrayed and treated through out; the fact that everyone idolizes Mihu and Mashiro's relationship， when it seems like the most ridiculous thing ever; some parts get a little preachy， especially talking about the sacredness of the author/editor relationship -- but over all， I found it pretty incredible， especially how they were able to keep the tension going and so on when it just about people writing and drawing stories。 。。。more

Oh man。 I don't even know where to start。 The themes of the manga all really come together nicely in this finale。 This is one of the best sets of books I've ever read。 I would put this in the same category as books like Harry Potter。 It's just that good。The romance in this volume has a super sweet conclusion that avoids grandiosity。 The idea that a love could last that long without the two people seeing each other seems preposterous to me。 I also dislike some of the purity stuff here。 That being Oh man。 I don't even know where to start。 The themes of the manga all really come together nicely in this finale。 This is one of the best sets of books I've ever read。 I would put this in the same category as books like Harry Potter。 It's just that good。The romance in this volume has a super sweet conclusion that avoids grandiosity。 The idea that a love could last that long without the two people seeing each other seems preposterous to me。 I also dislike some of the purity stuff here。 That being said， the relationship between Mashiro and Miho is just so damn sweet that I think it works anyway。 They're like kids who get to live out their childhood romantic fantasies， and those fantasies are sweet and simple in a way I think most American works would fail to capture。 It's very unrealistic， but it is a shonen manga， so I'm not sure how much I can reasonably count that against it。Another thing that I like about this volume is that we finally see the themes of competition and pursuing your dreams from Miho's perspective。 It's nice that they included an arc about her hard work and talent as well。 It helps to balance out the male perspective。 I also like that that story focuses on the unreasonable pressures Japanese society puts on women， especially celebrities。Lastly， there is the meta commentary the creators have included on their own work。 It's pretty obvious throughout the series， that the main characters function as stand ins for the writers on some level。 They often choose to improve their work with tricks you can see the real writers using in the very volume Muto Ashirogi is discussing them in。 Considering that， the parallels between Reversi and Death Note are pretty hard to ignore。 It seems pretty obvious to me that a big part of the last two volumes is Ohba and Obata saying that they wish they had been able to end Death Note earlier， as well as providing some explanations for why they didn't。 I think they used this final volume as a way of arguing that creators of serial media should have more authority over their work。 The fact that they did all this， while also wrapping up the themes and loose ends from the rest of a 20 volume series with a satisfying conclusion is amazing。 。。。more

This is probably one of the best manga I’ve ever read。 It ties things up nicely and I was so happy with the ending。 I love the parallelism of the title “dreams and reality” which was the same title as the first volume。 It almost made me cry tears of joy with the power these twenty volumes were endowed with。 I’d give it a thousand stars if I could。 I’d recommend this series to anyone and everyone。 It does not disappoint at any point throughout the whole series。
