I loved the first book。 In ATOR, Persephone and Hades love story continues。 Persephone is trying to balance life in the Upperworld and Underworld。 She has to decide who she is as a person and take control。 Control is a large theme in this book。 Without giving spoilers, Persephone (like any young adult) makes mistakes and learns from them in her personal and professional life。 Unfortunately, I do not enjoy books where the character makes the same mistake over and over again。 It's like she expecte I loved the first book。 In ATOR, Persephone and Hades love story continues。 Persephone is trying to balance life in the Upperworld and Underworld。 She has to decide who she is as a person and take control。 Control is a large theme in this book。 Without giving spoilers, Persephone (like any young adult) makes mistakes and learns from them in her personal and professional life。 Unfortunately, I do not enjoy books where the character makes the same mistake over and over again。 It's like she expected different results but still kept making the same mistake。 I am going to finish the series and I still recommend this book but it does not rate 5/5。 。。。more
Denise,
4。5 Compassionate StarsWhile Persephone’s story is really intriguing, I did find it a bit much with her constant struggle of indecisiveness… though I understood the reasoning behind it。 Her struggles showed how she’s becoming into the goddess she’s destined to be, while keeping her own sense of being。 I enjoyed the details that made her make her mistakes (though I felt like I’ve had enough of her struggles。) Hades is developing on his own, with more insight into the God he is and why his reputat 4。5 Compassionate StarsWhile Persephone’s story is really intriguing, I did find it a bit much with her constant struggle of indecisiveness… though I understood the reasoning behind it。 Her struggles showed how she’s becoming into the goddess she’s destined to be, while keeping her own sense of being。 I enjoyed the details that made her make her mistakes (though I felt like I’ve had enough of her struggles。) Hades is developing on his own, with more insight into the God he is and why his reputation precedes him。 His character is enjoyable and addicting。 Because come on… He’s Hades! (Sigh)The addition of Apollo was a nice touch, and as always, I am a sucker for Hermès。 I love his loyalty and friendship that has blossomed between Sephy and him。 Now I am eager to find out how the rest unfolds with a war in the brink。 Will Persephone become who she’s meant to be? Or will her insecurities ruin the work she’s done for herself and the love that she’s found blossom or wilt like her confidence that she lacks。 On to the next。 。。。more
Ashlyn,
I did not expect to go into this book and feel so aroused by what was written within the pages between the god of the underworld and the goddess of spring。 It amazes me how much evil and good came together (no pun intended) and had this beautiful love between them。 Definitely MUST READ!!!
