Summary

Getting rich is not just about luck; happiness is not just a trait we are born with。 These aspirations may seem out of reach, but building wealth and being happy are skills we can learn。

So what are these skills, and how do we learn them? What are the principles that should guide our efforts? What does progress really look like?

Naval Ravikant is an entrepreneur, philosopher, and investor who has captivated the world with his principles for building wealth and creating long-term happiness。 The Almanack of Naval Ravikant is a collection of Naval's wisdom and experience from the last ten years, shared as a curation of his most insightful interviews and poignant reflections。 This isn't a how-to book, or a step-by-step gimmick。 Instead, through Naval's own words, you will learn how to walk your own unique path toward a happier, wealthier life。

meaningful, simple, concise, and denseHaving followed Naval on Twitter and podcasts, I wasn’t sure I could glean more information from this book。 I was wrong, and I’ll be visiting it again in short bursts。 Such simple language for powerful concepts, mental models, and clearly a lifetimes worth of reading went into this。 This read through what struck me is the present。 Naval posits something like ‘the past and future don’t exist, so act that way。’ In his own words, most books teach you one thing。 meaningful, simple, concise, and denseHaving followed Naval on Twitter and podcasts, I wasn’t sure I could glean more information from this book。 I was wrong, and I’ll be visiting it again in short bursts。 Such simple language for powerful concepts, mental models, and clearly a lifetimes worth of reading went into this。 This read through what struck me is the present。 Naval posits something like ‘the past and future don’t exist, so act that way。’ In his own words, most books teach you one thing。 From my perspective, this book taught me many。 。。。more

The Almanack of Naval Ravikant is a book of books。It's the condensation of principles on Philosophy, money, business and well being which Naval has assimilated from books and experiences in his life。 A delightful read for anyone who is a curious being。5 Stars The Almanack of Naval Ravikant is a book of books。It's the condensation of principles on Philosophy, money, business and well being which Naval has assimilated from books and experiences in his life。 A delightful read for anyone who is a curious being。5 Stars 。。。more

great nuggets of wisdomNaval is such a clear thinker and puts things in very simple terms that makes this book super accessible。 While I don’t agree with all his philosophy, most of it is very inspiring and empowering。 Highly recommend。

This book is a collection of tweets and podcasts by Naval Ravikant。 Am glad that this isn't the one which is preachy。 Eric Jorgenson along with Naval's experience and wisdom walks you through the value of wealth and on how to effectively captivise it。 This book also tells us that both wealth and happiness are skills which can be acquired, with the help of which one can achieve higher echelon of success。"Short term pain will yield long term gain"is my take away from this,be it gym, academics or inv This book is a collection of tweets and podcasts by Naval Ravikant。 Am glad that this isn't the one which is preachy。 Eric Jorgenson along with Naval's experience and wisdom walks you through the value of wealth and on how to effectively captivise it。 This book also tells us that both wealth and happiness are skills which can be acquired, with the help of which one can achieve higher echelon of success。"Short term pain will yield long term gain"is my take away from this,be it gym, academics or investment。 Personally feel that this doesn't steps foot into the arena of must read books, but it is on the whole a good read。 。。。more

By far the least effort I've put into reading a book that's so high on returns。 Eric does a great job bringing out the essence of Naval's beliefs on wealth and health。 At no point does the book get boring。 It genuinely felt like I was talking to a mentor who's outlook on life is similar to mine and one who's recommendations I can blindly follow。I have highlighted quite a few points Naval mentioned that I will come back to time and again! I'm not sure how, I guess I've somehow gotten into something like a silicon valley, venture capitalist, tech startup bubble on Twitter, where Naval is somewhat of a hero。 So that's how I first heard about him。 There he tweets these sort of aphorisms that are quite interesting I guess and around which this book is based。 After listening to Naval on Joe Rogan's podcast, I can say that I was quite fascinated by this venture capitalist guy with interests in philosophy, meditation and other stuff。 This book is a topical collection of things Naval said in interviews, on Twitter and elsewhere。 What he writes and thinks about can be categorized broadly into wealth and wealth creation on the one hand, and happiness and general life advice on the other hand。As it is usually the case with aphorisms and life advice of this sort, most of them should be taken with a grain of salt。 But, after reading this book, I would still say that I think that Naval is a very intelligent man who manages to express certain things in ways that make them click and make them stick。 I'm leaving you with my favorite Naval tweet: A calm mind, a fit body, and a house full of love。 These things cannot be bought。 They must be earned。 。 。。。more

Naval is among one of my favorite people。 And this book is the best i have read this year in term of value per minute of read。 It’s a book full of wisdom and modern philosophy。 Even though this book is a quick read but to absorb all the information I needed to take small breaks and reflect upon the ideas。 I high recommend this book。 If you read it you will not be disappointed。

Starts well。 Different insights from others in the wealth section。 Blame it on the free sessions of 'life coaches' on YouTube, or just on common sense, but happiness section is trite。 Starts well。 Different insights from others in the wealth section。 Blame it on the free sessions of 'life coaches' on YouTube, or just on common sense, but happiness section is trite。 。。。more

The main points in this book that were food for thought worth pondering about were:- Society, business & money are downstream of technology, which is itself downstream of science: Science applied is the engine of humanity- A leveraged worker can out-produce a non-leveraged worker by a factor of one thousand or ten thousand。 With a leveraged worker, judgement is far more important than how much time they put in or how hard they work。- Wealth creation is an evolutionarily recent positive-sum game。 The main points in this book that were food for thought worth pondering about were:- Society, business & money are downstream of technology, which is itself downstream of science: Science applied is the engine of humanity- A leveraged worker can out-produce a non-leveraged worker by a factor of one thousand or ten thousand。 With a leveraged worker, judgement is far more important than how much time they put in or how hard they work。- Wealth creation is an evolutionarily recent positive-sum game。 Status is an old zero-sum game。 Those attacking wealth creation are often seeking status。- Peace is happiness at rest, and happiness is peace in motion。-Anger is a hot coal you hold in your hand while waiting to throw at somebody。 。。。more

Profound and dynamic insights from a very unique individual。 Ravikant's many thoughts highlight the amazing "optimistic contrarian" figure that he's portrayed as, and I found the vast majority of his thoughts to be very insightful。Read this on Kindle, enjoyed it so much that I ordered a physical paperback copy that I'm excited to write all over in the near future :-) Profound and dynamic insights from a very unique individual。 Ravikant's many thoughts highlight the amazing "optimistic contrarian" figure that he's portrayed as, and I found the vast majority of his thoughts to be very insightful。Read this on Kindle, enjoyed it so much that I ordered a physical paperback copy that I'm excited to write all over in the near future :-) 。。。more

This book can be considered the brain of Naval。 Everything said here was so meaningful, it felt like a gospel。 I heard Naval in Joe Rogan's podcast and ever since I was in search of books on him, and that is how I came across this。 The book can be broken down into different sections like philosophy, happiness, building wealth, and judgment, etc。 and every section has information and Naval's experience packed in them。I would recommend this book to anyone who liked Joe Rogan's podcast with Naval ( This book can be considered the brain of Naval。 Everything said here was so meaningful, it felt like a gospel。 I heard Naval in Joe Rogan's podcast and ever since I was in search of books on him, and that is how I came across this。 The book can be broken down into different sections like philosophy, happiness, building wealth, and judgment, etc。 and every section has information and Naval's experience packed in them。I would recommend this book to anyone who liked Joe Rogan's podcast with Naval (in case you haven't seen that yet, please do) or someone who wants to simply read about the pioneers of the 21's century。 。。。more

I had to stop halfway through the 'book'。 I was not familiar with Naval before reading this work, and I'm sure he's a great guy, but it didn't click for me。It barely qualifies as a book, it's more a compilation of extremely vague tweets and random 'wisdom nuggets'。I will revisit this some day。 I had to stop halfway through the 'book'。 I was not familiar with Naval before reading this work, and I'm sure he's a great guy, but it didn't click for me。It barely qualifies as a book, it's more a compilation of extremely vague tweets and random 'wisdom nuggets'。I will revisit this some day。 。。。more

The Almanack is a collection of thought processes, learnings, and tweets of Naval Ravikant, the founder of AngelList。 The topics are broken down into bite-sized chapters that are easy to read and follow。This book has ideas that are quite controversial in my view。 There are certain topics that are the opposite of what I have read in other books。 I guess in that manner, it's important to keep our eyes open to filter points that are not suited to our lives。 Other the other hand, this is an enjoyabl The Almanack is a collection of thought processes, learnings, and tweets of Naval Ravikant, the founder of AngelList。 The topics are broken down into bite-sized chapters that are easy to read and follow。This book has ideas that are quite controversial in my view。 There are certain topics that are the opposite of what I have read in other books。 I guess in that manner, it's important to keep our eyes open to filter points that are not suited to our lives。 Other the other hand, this is an enjoyable read and there are many noteworthy quotes inside。 This is the kind of book that I'll be rereading year after year just to refresh my mental models。 Maybe one day I would finally understand some points that I disagree now! 。。。more
