the plot twist is just shocking。 did not expect that。 although i felt that the ending of the book did not give the closure that i was looking for。 should have written an epilogue to know what happened to her。 did she get arrested？ how did her parents react？ does she really regret it？

This book is honestly so good！ It sort of starts in a typical US senior school in a small town， with a few main characters。 But soon， they are stuck in a situation where one of them has to die to secure the fate of the others。 It is a great plot， and the last few chapters are incredible， and filled with plot twists。 It switches between narration of the past， and narration of the time in that room， with a countdown of how long they have left to live。 You definitely MUST read this book！

This book was such a pleasant surprise！ I really loved the back-and-forth narrative as it ramped up the knots in the tension。 The dynamic of the group is deeply mysterious and the culmination of bits and pieces of the past interwoven with the present moment of a ticking bomb makes for a fantastic feet-on-the-ground， hands-gripping-the-page read！

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 So a lot of people are comparing this to One of Us Is Lying， and for 90% of the book， this one is better。 The characters are better， the secrets are better， the tension is better。But I did not enjoy the twist。 I didn't see it coming until right before the reveal， but after the reveal I didn't feel "ooh that makes sense，" I felt "。。。really？" I realize it was a consistent character trait of hers to not see obvious things， but how could she really not foresee how badly this idea could go？ I don't e So a lot of people are comparing this to One of Us Is Lying， and for 90% of the book， this one is better。 The characters are better， the secrets are better， the tension is better。But I did not enjoy the twist。 I didn't see it coming until right before the reveal， but after the reveal I didn't feel "ooh that makes sense，" I felt "。。。really？" I realize it was a consistent character trait of hers to not see obvious things， but how could she really not foresee how badly this idea could go？ I don't expect her to predict actual murder， of course， but a pretty unforgivable amount of emotional distress （and property damage） was always inevitable。 She spent the whole book laser focused on her future in music， and then she threw it all away。And then we don't really get to see the fallout。 I would like to know if she was charged， if the others forgave her， if she lost her spot at USC。 And what happened to her poor parents！So， in sum， I enjoyed the ride， but I personally didn't love the destination。 Nonetheless， I do think it's a worthwhile read。 。。。more
