The first time I read this I was 10 and I felt so tickled because my dad and I discussed it after I read it。 My first book club! This time it made me so so sad with its beauty and simplicity and if left to my own devices, I would cry for hours over it。

Endearing for young and old but after a while too much fantasy。 Filled with metaphors for growth and life lessons。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 When a crashed pilot meets a prince from a small distant planet in the desert he is irritated。 Distracted from mending his only means of escape, and low on water, the little princes stories are an inconvenience。 But as time passes the pilot starts to see the world through the princes eyes。 While mocking the absurd lives and pretensions adults make for themselves Antoine tells a story of something simplier, the hidden beauty in the things and people we choose to love。

Second time reading this and I find that it hits so differently than before。 The story itself is a means for the author to bring about how life changes as we go from child to adult and without knowing it, lose some things of ourselves in the process。
