Summary

In David Rosenfelt's Andy Carpenter mystery, Muzzled, Andy and his beloved golden retriever, Tara, are back on the case as a favor to a friend。

Andy Carpenter is a lawyer who would rather not practice law。 He'd rather spend his time working with the Tara Foundation, his dog rescue organization, and being with his family and his two dogs, Tara and Sebastian。 But when a friend asks him for a favor that involves both dogs and his lawyerly expertise, he can't say no。

Andy's friend Beth has found a stray that seems to have belonged to a murder victim--in fact, the man and two of his colleagues died in an explosion a few weeks ago。 But when the murdered man contacts Beth, asking for his dog back, Andy knows there must be more to the story。 The man claims his life is in danger, and that's why he disappeared。 As much as Andy doesn't want to get involved--anything to avoid a new case--he can't help but come to the rescue of a man who'd risk everything, even his life, to reunite with his dog。

Once again, David Rosenfelt delivers suspense and laughter in equal measure in another engaging mystery from "one of the most unforgettable voices in the genre。" (Associated Press)

Irene

As usual, an amusing diversion with colorful characters and a few decent plot twists。

Alissa

Another satisfying entry in this series。 Although I do wonder how long Andy can stay semi retired?

Love a good Andy Carpenter book。 This was a good one!

A very timely subject! Mr Rosenfelt seems to be moving a little out of his mold and I like it!! Five more to go and I’ll have read ‘em all!I certainly know who Sir Francis Drake is, but had never heard of a Drake cake, that sent me scurrying to Google and now I know what it is !And now for the Dan the Man report - Daniel appears on page 15 and then Danny on page 138。 I think there are way more “Dans” than there are books in the series!!

I always enjoy this series and this installment did not disappoint。 I enjoy the dogs even though they often just play a small role。 I love the characters especially Andy Carpenter。 I love that the stories make me smile and occasionally laugh out loud。 I will con't to read this series as long as the author con't to write it。 I always enjoy this series and this installment did not disappoint。 I enjoy the dogs even though they often just play a small role。 I love the characters especially Andy Carpenter。 I love that the stories make me smile and occasionally laugh out loud。 I will con't to read this series as long as the author con't to write it。 。。。more

Not his best but I love this series。

The Andy Carpenter mysteries are not deep but they are hugely entertaining。 They peak my curiosity and make me laugh。 In this one, a supposedly dead man calls to reclaim his missing dog whom he loves dearly。 Of course with him comes a crime that requires Andy's defense expertise, despite his insistence that he is retired。 Hopefully Andy will never fully retire because I want to keep reading about his adventures。 He calls together his motley crew of quirky characters to investigate how someone wh The Andy Carpenter mysteries are not deep but they are hugely entertaining。 They peak my curiosity and make me laugh。 In this one, a supposedly dead man calls to reclaim his missing dog whom he loves dearly。 Of course with him comes a crime that requires Andy's defense expertise, despite his insistence that he is retired。 Hopefully Andy will never fully retire because I want to keep reading about his adventures。 He calls together his motley crew of quirky characters to investigate how someone who was considered dead can reappear, and be accused of his own murder。 As usual Andy and his team are brilliant, brave (except for Andy himself) and dedicated to finding the truth。 。。。more

Fun! Grover Gardner is one of my favorite narrators, and we listened on our NC trip。 Light but good, lots of dry humor; perfect for a car trip!

A really interesting mystery where a man who is supposed to have died in a boat explosion shows up to get his dog back。 It leads Andy into a case of mob and money laundering。 I enjoy the way David Rosenfelt writes。

What a great surprise。 Received this book as part of the TPL grab bag program。This was a quick read。 In true mystery writing。。。。the twist was not revealed until the very end。Although this was part of a series I didn't feel like I was missing anything。。。the writer was able to develop the characters enough for anyone to follow along。 What a great surprise。 Received this book as part of the TPL grab bag program。This was a quick read。 In true mystery writing。。。。the twist was not revealed until the very end。Although this was part of a series I didn't feel like I was missing anything。。。the writer was able to develop the characters enough for anyone to follow along。 。。。more

As always the series continues on with interesting characters, humorous dialogue, and twist-filled plots。 Refreshingly clean and interest-keeping and I love the narrator (no matter what he performs)。About 6 hrs。 long。

Funny。 Andy Carpenter is such a smart-ass。 Kinda gets old after so many novels。 Howe, Rosenfelt is a super author。 Great pace。

Tammy

I really enjoyed listening to this!

This is a hilarious mystery about a lawyer who thinks more of the dogs than of his clients。。。 Following a boat explosion at sea, a sarcastic, abrasive, wealthy, semi-retired New York lawyer is dragged into a legal case that he’d rather avoid。 The mystery continues to evolve until it is finally resolved in the last chapter。 If you enjoy witty humor and engaging mysteries, then this book is one for you。 Highly RECOMMENDED(Audiobook from CHIRP)

I love David Rosenfelt’s sense of humor! Andy Carpenter is a total smart a**, but he’s a lovable one。 He’s sarcastic, self deprecating and frequently obnoxious。 Andy is a defense lawyer。 He wants to be a retired defense lawyer。 But once again, he’s compelled to take a case。 As always, he takes the case because his client is a dog lover。 Rosenfelt gives enough background on the characters that this is one series you can jump in at any point。 This book is #21, but it’s just as fresh as the earlier I love David Rosenfelt’s sense of humor! This was a great book and I enjoyed reading it。 I liked that at the end Andy’s son, Ricky comes to the victory party with the dogs that are at it Aggie, Cash, Simon Garfunkel and Tara。 I also like that the K Team is involved。
