Maybe a 3。5, a child is told that there is a magical yet, that will help the child overcome all the obstacles in achieving life's goals。Positive message, but didn't grab me。 Maybe a 3。5, a child is told that there is a magical yet, that will help the child overcome all the obstacles in achieving life's goals。Positive message, but didn't grab me。 。。。more

THE MAGICAL YET is a perfect, inspirational book for any child to learn about perseverance and determination。 DiTerlizzi does a beautiful job portraying the importance of not giving up on something if one fails at it at first。 Lorena Alvarez's illustrations are gorgeous and very colorful drawing every child into the book。 THE MAGICAL YET is a perfect, inspirational book for any child to learn about perseverance and determination。 DiTerlizzi does a beautiful job portraying the importance of not giving up on something if one fails at it at first。 Lorena Alvarez's illustrations are gorgeous and very colorful drawing every child into the book。 。。。more

While I enjoyed the beautiful illustrations and the message of perseverance, I'm not sure this message will be clear to children; I was disappointed that the phrase "the magical yet" was never clearly explained or linked to the common phrase "and yet"。 While I enjoyed the beautiful illustrations and the message of perseverance, I'm not sure this message will be clear to children; I was disappointed that the phrase "the magical yet" was never clearly explained or linked to the common phrase "and yet"。 。。。more

Beautifully illustrated but the concept of the magical "yet" was a little difficult for my first grader and I'm not sure he totally got it。 Beautifully illustrated but the concept of the magical "yet" was a little difficult for my first grader and I'm not sure he totally got it。 。。。more

Story: 5Illustrations: 5Read aloud: 5The teacher whose classroom I was in last year taught her third-graders not to say “I’m not good at that,” but rather, “I’m not good at that YET。” I loved that lesson, especially since I heard students using the phrase throughout the school year。The Magical Yet presents the same idea with the imagery of having a Yet with you while you try new things。(My only very minor critique would be that in the story the main character bends the front wheel of her bike ju Story: 5Illustrations: 5Read aloud: 5The teacher whose classroom I was in last year taught her third-graders not to say “I’m not good at that,” but rather, “I’m not good at that YET。” I loved that lesson, especially since I heard students using the phrase throughout the school year。The Magical Yet presents the same idea with the imagery of having a Yet with you while you try new things。(My only very minor critique would be that in the story the main character bends the front wheel of her bike just by doing a wheelie and crashing。 Later, she gets an entirely new wheel, changing it easily by herself。 As a cyclist, I wished that the story showed her getting a flat tire and figuring out how to change the flat tire。 It would have been more realistic。) 。。。more

Every day is an opportunity to learn something new—if we don’t let perfectionism, impatience, fear, or failure interfere with the learning process。 The magical power of yet—“a most amazing thought re-arranger!”—transforms cannot into can do with a lot of practice。 Colorful digital illustrations feature a diverse cast of characters learning how to believe in the magic of yet。

7/18/2021 ~ Another in the category of "motivational" or "affirmations。" Encourages a growth mindset and perseverance。 The illustrations and rhymes keep it from being to saccharine。 7/18/2021 ~ Another in the category of "motivational" or "affirmations。" Encourages a growth mindset and perseverance。 The illustrations and rhymes keep it from being to saccharine。 。。。more

This was so sweet and absolutely gorgeous! This is a perfect book when you're feeling dejected and need some hope in the world。 I immediately had to share it with everyone around me and purchased one for a friend who I knew needed this message。 This is a book to hug at the end! A story hilighting growth mind-set:“Yet doesn’t mind warm-ups, fixes, and flops, do-overs, re-dos, stumbles and stops。Yet knows there’s mistakes- some big and some small。 With Yet you’re sure to get over them all。”In this book, “yet” is a small adorable creature, along for the ride of learning and growing, written in 2nd person。

A great book to read at the beginning (middle, and end) of the school year, or when a child is facing a particularly difficult new challenge。 The illustrations are inclusive showing people of different sizes, skin colors, and backgrounds。 A good read aloud for children of all ages which serves as a reminder to keep trying when attempting something new。

My mom and I were looking for a children’s book that she could share with her students with dyslexia as they are having a hard time learning how to read。 We stumbled upon this book in a shop and it was perfect!!!! Definitely for 6, 7, 8,9 year olds。 I think might be a little advanced for my preschoolers but some might get it :)

A nice rhyming book about determination and perseverance。 The Magical Yet as a character/concept is a little abstract, but it works。 Main character is depicted with light brown skin and curly black hair。Themes: Determination, You Can Do It!, Believe in YourselfAge range: Preschool-Kindergarten

This is a great book that encourages growth mindset (although, like a few other reviewers have mentioned, it might require a bit of explaining to young kids)。 The text was very reminiscent of a Seuss book and overall it kind of reminded me of Oh, the Places You'll Go!。 It's nice to have this updated and more inclusive version (P。S。 I love that the book included a boy doing ballet!)。 This is a great book that encourages growth mindset (although, like a few other reviewers have mentioned, it might require a bit of explaining to young kids)。 The text was very reminiscent of a Seuss book and overall it kind of reminded me of Oh, the Places You'll Go!。 It's nice to have this updated and more inclusive version (P。S。 I love that the book included a boy doing ballet!)。 。。。more

This book is all about what it yet to come。 It is all about not giving up and continuing to try and one day you will get where you want to be。 They did a great job getting this message across and beautifully in children's terms。 I love the rhyming and i love how magical the pictures are。 They just illuminate the pages and they are full of vibrant colors。 The message in this book is awesome to teach to children because they are going to go through hard things in life that they cannot do right awa This book is all about what it yet to come。 It is all about not giving up and continuing to try and one day you will get where you want to be。 They did a great job getting this message across and beautifully in children's terms。 I love the rhyming and i love how magical the pictures are。 They just illuminate the pages and they are full of vibrant colors。 The message in this book is awesome to teach to children because they are going to go through hard things in life that they cannot do right away and they will get frustrated。 But telling them that everything is alright, that they have to keep try and to never give up are some important message for them to hear。 。。。more

All children (and adults) can relate to the struggles of stumbling, unrealized dreams and the value of getting back up -- because failing is not the end of the story。 The enchanting rhyme along with the vivid illustrations bring the image of “yet” to life。

This book is perfect for all ages。 The Magical Yet is about people of all ages that just want to quit, until they find the magical Yet and find that their dreams can become a reality with work and practice。

The Magical Yet is a fun, loving picture book that focuses on keeping at what you love。 Because you haven't mastered it--yet。 I love the illustrations and colors used。 The story is also very good as it's good to keep kids trying to achieve what they envision。 The Magical Yet is a fun, loving picture book that focuses on keeping at what you love。 Because you haven't mastered it--yet。 I love the illustrations and colors used。 The story is also very good as it's good to keep kids trying to achieve what they envision。 。。。more

The Magical yet is a good childrens fantasy book。 This is a good read aloud book that can be used to encourage self doing and perseverance。 The 'magical' unknown is the things that children cannot be able to do just quite yet。 This is a beautiful picture book! Story in rhyme flows nicely mostly。 The illustrations star here。 Energetic and lovely。

I love a good inspirational picture book。 The text here is good and rhyming。 But sometimes it felt like the pace of the words was off。 And I think the concept of “yet” is a hard one for little minds to grasp。 But I think some conversations around trying and being good one day are good for kiddos to here。 But really the star of this book is the illustration - gorgeous and warm and beautiful and I want to crawl inside them to live forever。

I love this book which illustrates that just because we haven't achieved a goal yet doesn't mean that we will never achieve it。 I LOVE the power of the word YET and how it automatically switches our mindset!
