well what a splendidly written and captivating story。 i searched for what would be recommended as a good jumping off point for agatha christie and this book was listed as one of her best: and therefore a good place to start。 and i have to say it is wonderful。 i read this in one sitting and would have had no idea if not for the epilogue who the murderer actually was。 also the idea of targeting only killers the law can’t touch is so interesting。 loved this and can’t wait to read more of christie’s well what a splendidly written and captivating story。 i searched for what would be recommended as a good jumping off point for agatha christie and this book was listed as one of her best: and therefore a good place to start。 and i have to say it is wonderful。 i read this in one sitting and would have had no idea if not for the epilogue who the murderer actually was。 also the idea of targeting only killers the law can’t touch is so interesting。 loved this and can’t wait to read more of christie’s work! my only concern was whether the prose would be too outdated but it couldn’t have been further from that, the way she writes is so careful and captivating and has aged beautifully。 。。。more

What。。。 just。。。 happened?! Seriously, WHAT?Agatha Christie is brilliant! Simply genius。 There's no mystery in why she has earned the moniker The Queen of Mystery。I'm surprised and disappointed I only just read one of her books。 I wonder, how might my life have been different if I was exposed sooner? Dałabym książce 3。75。 Szczerze domyśliłam się zakończenia, ale książka mroczna, miło napisana。

Slowly, each passing day, they begin to fall, one by one。 It becomes a tense wait to see: whose next。。? The story was incredibly refreshing (odd statement, I know) because I simply couldn't help trying to uncover the mystery。 Of course, I failed。 In fact, Christie had to write an epilogue just to explain it all! I would most definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys mystery/crime/suspense etc。 etc。Actually, I would recommend it to just about anyone! 。。。more

Great book! Again…my brother made me read (even though I actually wanted to read it)。 At first it was really boring, I wanted to stop but my brother kept telling me that the book gets good after the first three chapters。 He was right! After the three chapters and couldn’t stop reading! It’s a super good book and I definitely recommend reading it!

"When a man's neck's in danger, he doesn't stop to think too much about sentiment。" There are a billion mystery books out there and sometimes it can get a bit confusing and overwhelming。 Some of them go too far for the shock value, some of them use the same plot twists we have seen a bunch of times, some of them just suck。Which is why I decided to go back to basics and oh boy I'm so glad I did。And Then There Were None talks about a group of strangers that is sent to a house in a remote islan "When a man's neck's in danger, he doesn't stop to think too much about sentiment。" There are a billion mystery books out there and sometimes it can get a bit confusing and overwhelming。 Some of them go too far for the shock value, some of them use the same plot twists we have seen a bunch of times, some of them just suck。Which is why I decided to go back to basics and oh boy I'm so glad I did。And Then There Were None talks about a group of strangers that is sent to a house in a remote island。 However, they're not quite sure of who the owner of the house is or where to find him。 A series of events leads them to believe their lives are in danger and they have nowhere to go。The pacing in this book was just perfect, I couldn't put it down。 The writing is so fluid and honestly charming at some points, the characters are very interesting and the mystery is absolutely captivating。 The whole "people stuck in a place where they die one at a time" plot is amazingly developed and it doesn't feel forced or overused at all。 This book is so influential, so solid, so addictive。If you're looking for a good, classic mystery that entertains you all the way through, you can't go wrong with And Then There Were None。 This is a new favorite for me! 。。。more

It's a first book for me of Agatha's。 I didn't liked her way of writing。 Starting of the story, character intro, premise setting this are very slow。 It took more than 50 pgs for this itself。 It was boring。 But ahead if you crossed that stage the story is awesome, but the twist is detectable。 I found it out during the last few chapters only though。 It's a first book for me of Agatha's。 I didn't liked her way of writing。 Starting of the story, character intro, premise setting this are very slow。 It took more than 50 pgs for this itself。 It was boring。 But ahead if you crossed that stage the story is awesome, but the twist is detectable。 I found it out during the last few chapters only though。 。。。more

Notes: One day a friend of mine told me: “if you never write anything (your diary, a shopping list, or a review on Goodreads) in English, you’ll never know if you are capable of expressing your ideas clearly”。 So, I’ve decided to type my reviews in English each time I had read a book/ a novel in the same language。 Perhaps I’m going to make many mistakes but, at the same time, I believe I’ll learn a lot of things because of this practice。 So, here I go。And Then There Were None is possibly one of Notes: One day a friend of mine told me: “if you never write anything (your diary, a shopping list, or a review on Goodreads) in English, you’ll never know if you are capable of expressing your ideas clearly”。 So, I’ve decided to type my reviews in English each time I had read a book/ a novel in the same language。 Perhaps I’m going to make many mistakes but, at the same time, I believe I’ll learn a lot of things because of this practice。 So, here I go。And Then There Were None is possibly one of the most important and famous Agatha Christie’s works, and certainly, I’ve enjoyed it a lot。 In short, the premise of the story was perfect and original (I mean, this novel is likely to have been the first one in its own genre) and each character was portrayed in a right and memorable way。 And to be truly honest, I was pretty sure (in a hundred percent) who did it, and I decided not to change my suspicions, but ultimately, my entire theory was ‘destroyed’ and Christie won again (and I suspect I’ll have to get used to this kind of surprise)。On the other hand, the final explanation of the murders was a little bit unbelievable because there were two or three things that I couldn’t understand why it happened at all。 Even so, this wasn’t a big problem for me and actually, I had enjoyed the rest of the story。 In conclusion, if you have never read any novel by this author, this is a perfect book to start reading her works, and I could promise something: once you have begun to read a Christie’s novel, you can’t help reading the rest。 There is no doubt that Agatha Christie deserves to be recognized as the queen of mystery, and this book is the proof of that statement。 。。。more

I have decided to no longer use star ratings。 They are too arbitrary to me。 Instead, I will be ranking an author's books against their other books。 This does not mean that I do NOT like their books, just in what order I enjoy them most。1) And Then There Were None2) Death on the Nile3) The Mousetrap4) The ABC Murders I have decided to no longer use star ratings。 They are too arbitrary to me。 Instead, I will be ranking an author's books against their other books。 This does not mean that I do NOT like their books, just in what order I enjoy them most。1) And Then There Were None2) Death on the Nile3) The Mousetrap4) The ABC Murders 。。。more

very stylish ending in a sense, didn’t disappoint tbh。 thought i found the ending of crooked house more “shocking” but this is one was satisfying, as christie herself describes in the introduction。 (do not accidentally look at the last page tho just a tip if ur mindlessly flipping like i do sometimes lol)could’ve read this in one sitting that’s how fast paced and fun it is to read。 loved it, definitely a classic in its own genre。

Dios! De verdad que no me esperaba ese final。 No es tanto quién fue, porque todos sospechamos de todos。 Es más bien cómo lo hizo。 Les juro que por un momento pensé que estaban locos todos。

Even with the cultural faux pas (racial profiling), this remains a masterpiece。 And a locked-room mystery par excellence。 I had read it before several times and she still sucked me in to the infighting-and speculation。

Travis Ruegg

Good characters, setup, and writing。 Ending left some to be desired, felt like I was cheated out of the opportunity to solve the mystery。
