Summary

An adaptation of Dale Carnegie’s timeless prescriptions for the digital age。

Dale Carnegie’s time-tested advice has carried millions upon millions of readers for more than seventy-five years up the ladder of success in their business and personal lives。 Now the first and best book of its kind has been rebooted to tame the complexities of modern times and will teach you how to communicate with diplomacy and tact, capitalize on a solid network, make people like you, project your message widely and clearly, be a more effective leader, increase your ability to get things done, and optimize the power of digital tools。

Dale Carnegie’s commonsense approach to communicating has endured for a century, touching millions and millions of readers。 The only diploma that hangs in Warren Buffett’s office is his certificate from Dale Carnegie Training。 Lee Iacocca credits Carnegie for giving him the courage to speak in public。 Dilbert creator Scott Adams called Carnegie’s teachings “life-changing。” To demonstrate the lasting relevancy of his tools, Dale Carnegie & Associates, Inc。, has reimagined his prescriptions and his advice for our difficult digital age。 We may communicate today with different tools and with greater speed, but Carnegie’s advice on how to communicate, lead, and work efficiently remains priceless across the ages。

How to Win Friends and Influence People in the Digital Age is a re-make of the famous book by Dale Carnegie wrote in 1936。 In the book, the ideas about influence and power had been adapted by an entourage of Carnegie for a special use in the contemporary information society。In this work I found plenty of new insights and perspective about human nature and social relations in general, but nothing compared to the original How to Win Friends and Influence People。 The main part that I did not like i How to Win Friends and Influence People in the Digital Age is a re-make of the famous book by Dale Carnegie wrote in 1936。 In the book, the ideas about influence and power had been adapted by an entourage of Carnegie for a special use in the contemporary information society。In this work I found plenty of new insights and perspective about human nature and social relations in general, but nothing compared to the original How to Win Friends and Influence People。 The main part that I did not like is the way the book can be useful in the digital age。 I know that is the way point of the book - being useful in the digital society - but to me it did not give me much help in this regard。However, having said this, this book is still very useful in describing human behavior, human nature and people。 You should read it if you liked the original book。 。。。more

Very good book that brings up great points like the original version。 Like other reviews, I feel it doesn't tough enough on the digital age aspect。 Overall it is a great read that I'd recommend to anyone who didn't read the original version。 Very good book that brings up great points like the original version。 Like other reviews, I feel it doesn't tough enough on the digital age aspect。 Overall it is a great read that I'd recommend to anyone who didn't read the original version。 。。。more

Picked this book up by mistake thinking it was Carnegie's classic with some additions。 Turns out it's a remake。 But no regrets, it's basically how to implement the Carnegie lessons in 21st century context, with the proliferation of social media, indirect communications, and so on。 Picked this book up by mistake thinking it was Carnegie's classic with some additions。 Turns out it's a remake。 But no regrets, it's basically how to implement the Carnegie lessons in 21st century context, with the proliferation of social media, indirect communications, and so on。 。。。more

#Goodbook #2021ReadingChallenge: 35/52。。。and still loading。Gaining people's respect is all about gaining their trust and attention。 Ask for their permission to get into their personal space, and then what they would need you to help them with, that would improve an aspect of their lives。 You need to also acknowledge their real & perceived fears about you and/or what you have to offer。 #Goodbook #2021ReadingChallenge: 35/52。。。and still loading。Gaining people's respect is all about gaining their trust and attention。 Ask for their permission to get into their personal space, and then what they would need you to help them with, that would improve an aspect of their lives。 You need to also acknowledge their real & perceived fears about you and/or what you have to offer。 。。。more

Had I read the original, I’m not sure I would have learned much from the new content included in this edition。 The basic material is excellent; however, I was hoping the digital portion would focus more on how to develop professional relationships remotely。 Rather, the primary focus of the digital aspect was towards social media interactions。

Despite the cheesy name and my skepticism I'm really glad I read this book。 It was super helpful and insightful。 Going over what you already know but helps with gaining insight on how to be a good manager。 Despite the cheesy name and my skepticism I'm really glad I read this book。 It was super helpful and insightful。 Going over what you already know but helps with gaining insight on how to be a good manager。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Isi bukunya bagus banget terutama untuk part 2 dan 3 dari buku ini。 Sangat mengajarkan bagaimana cara berbicara yang let's say automatically can drive it to influence people。 Hanya saja beberapa pembahasan cukup boring dan ada beberapa kata-kata yang sulit dipahami。 Isi bukunya bagus banget terutama untuk part 2 dan 3 dari buku ini。 Sangat mengajarkan bagaimana cara berbicara yang let's say automatically can drive it to influence people。 Hanya saja beberapa pembahasan cukup boring dan ada beberapa kata-kata yang sulit dipahami。 。。。more

This book is very useful for young people, especially millennials who will start their careers in this digital era。 From this book I got a lot of input and guidance on how to communicate well with colleagues, how to win our interlocutors, and socialize professionally without compromising ethical values。 In essence, we have to listen more and understand the other person or the other person we are talking to, rather than forcing what is on our mind to be heard。 In addition to feeling selfish, the values we will convey can also be different because the way we convey them is wrong。 This book also assures us that every good thing we do when we communicate with other people, it will also be done to us。 。。。more

Gave solid advice, although most I believe are just common sense。 However sometimes we do forget the basics and need to be reminded。 The main dissatisfaction I have with this book is that it did not provide ways to use digital media from the advice。 A lot of the advice was to not text or call someone but rather meet up with them instead。 In the state of this pandemic I was hoping to get some methods but alas I was a bit disappointed。

Decent concepts and examples of how to get people to wield influence and get people to like you。 However there isn't really any practical advice on HOW to implement these ideas using digital tools。 Maybe I was expecting more, but I thought they would go into how to use social media and other technology to create a sphere of influence。 Decent concepts and examples of how to get people to wield influence and get people to like you。 However there isn't really any practical advice on HOW to implement these ideas using digital tools。 Maybe I was expecting more, but I thought they would go into how to use social media and other technology to create a sphere of influence。 。。。more

This is not the original bestselling book by Dale Carnegie, but rather its commentary/retelling that uses contemporary examples to prove the points made in the original book。 However, most of these examples are completely trivial and seem unrelated to the book,’s underlining message (I particularly wonder what that story about United Airlines destroying a passenger’s guitar has to do with friendship and influencing people)。 Some pages seem like mere strings of non sequitur passages。 It’s also qu This is not the original bestselling book by Dale Carnegie, but rather its commentary/retelling that uses contemporary examples to prove the points made in the original book。 However, most of these examples are completely trivial and seem unrelated to the book,’s underlining message (I particularly wonder what that story about United Airlines destroying a passenger’s guitar has to do with friendship and influencing people)。 Some pages seem like mere strings of non sequitur passages。 It’s also quite clumsily written, with condescending and dull overtones。 。。。more
