Summary

Two people realize that it's no longer an act when they veer off-script in this sizzling romantic comedy by New York Times bestselling author Jasmine Guillory。

Ben Stephens has never bothered with serious relationships。 He has plenty of casual dates to keep him busy, family drama he's trying to ignore and his advertising job to focus on。 When Ben lands a huge ad campaign featuring movie star Anna Gardiner, however, it's hard to keep it purely professional。 Anna is not just gorgeous and sexy, she's also down to earth and considerate, and he can't help flirting a little。。。

Anna Gardiner is on a mission: to make herself a household name, and this ad campaign will be a great distraction while she waits to hear if she's booked her next movie。 However, she didn't expect Ben Stephens to be her biggest distraction。 She knows mixing business with pleasure never works out, but why not indulge in a harmless flirtation?

But their lighthearted banter takes a turn for the serious when Ben helps Anna in a family emergency, and they reveal truths about themselves to each other, truths they've barely shared with those closest to them。

When the opportunity comes to turn their real-life fling into something more for the Hollywood spotlight, will Ben be content to play the background role in Anna's life and leave when the cameras stop rolling? Or could he be the leading man she needs to craft their own Hollywood ending?

Jasmine Guillory does not disappoint。 Super sweet romance with a small dose of realism。

I thought I'd never finish this book。 Took me almost a month to read a ROM COM。 I had zero desire to return to this world in my leisure time and I really didn't care about the characters。 While not as bad as the Royal Holiday, it seems like Guillory has lost her touch and this series may have run its course。 This could have been 1/4 shorter than it was and still accomplished the same thing。 Her attempts to address mental health and Black women in Hollywoood were clumsy, heavy-handed, redundant, I thought I'd never finish this book。 Took me almost a month to read a ROM COM。 I had zero desire to return to this world in my leisure time and I really didn't care about the characters。 While not as bad as the Royal Holiday, it seems like Guillory has lost her touch and this series may have run its course。 This could have been 1/4 shorter than it was and still accomplished the same thing。 Her attempts to address mental health and Black women in Hollywoood were clumsy, heavy-handed, redundant, and simple。 They seemed to be in there to sell books--now she can be on lists of authors tackling hard issues or whatever。 Having a Black actress character say she suffered from anxiety over and over and occasionally bemoan how hard it is for POC in Hollywood is not really shining a light on these issues。 。。。more

Theo and Maddie are two of my favorite characters of the series so I was excited that this book focused on Theo’s brother Ben。 We get appearances from Maddie and Theo and even a minor appearance by Nik and Carlos from The Proposal。 I thought this book was great but the plot line was going to be predictable。 It kind of reminded me of the Wedding Date with the fake dating, but actual falling I needed a nice light read to jump back into reading after taking some time off。 This was perfect for that! Cute romance- great summer beach read。

This is a book about a guy who works for an ad agency and an actress, and the story of their dating life together。 It was a quick read and some parts I skimmed。 The part about his sister was anticlimactic。 The characters were likeable。

Sarah

I enjoyed that while it was fun and light, it also normalized mental health and regular therapy。 I also like how the attractive leading lady was a plus size black woman。 Another good one from a new favourite author。

I was lucky enough to win a copy of this book through a Goodreads giveaway。 It’s another well-written, fun read by Jasmine Guillory。 I particularly liked that the main characters, Ben & Anna, discussed anxiety & therapy without shame。 I also liked the reappearance of Theo & Maddie。 All in all, a great summer read!

I liked that this story talked about mental health, attending therapy and coping with anxiety in a very positive way。 This also features a main female character who is "bigger" than the typical thin expectation of Hollywood women。 I appreciated that there were body positive discussions in this story and that she could be confident, beautiful and attractive exactly as she was。 I liked that this story talked about mental health, attending therapy and coping with anxiety in a very positive way。 This also features a main female character who is "bigger" than the typical thin expectation of Hollywood women。 I appreciated that there were body positive discussions in this story and that she could be confident, beautiful and attractive exactly as she was。 。。。more

STEAMY, SWEET, FUNNY…I always love @ books。 This is the sixth in series。 I thinks it’s also my new favorite in the series。 Her books are always more than just a romance novel! She’s always tackling the elephant in the room。 In this book, it’s body positivity, therapy, racism and more。 I appreciate that in every book, the characters are relatable。 I feel like they could be someone in my very own circle。Ben is definitely in my top 3 book boyfriends。 I loved him and Anna’s chemistry and banter。 I l STEAMY, SWEET, FUNNY…I always love @ books。 This is the sixth in series。 I thinks it’s also my new favorite in the series。 Her books are always more than just a romance novel! This one just wasn't for me。 The characters were cute and I could see this being enjoyable for a lot of people。 But for me, up until the point I read at least (~28%), they were pretty much perfect and fairly boring。 I've enjoyed this author's books before so I'm a little disappointed。 It just wasn't holding my attention。 Maybe I'll try again later。 This one just wasn't for me。 The characters were cute and I could see this being enjoyable for a lot of people。 But for me, up until the point I read at least (~28%), they were pretty much perfect and fairly boring。 I've enjoyed this author's books before so I'm a little disappointed。 It just wasn't holding my attention。 Maybe I'll try again later。 。。。more

This was a perfectly okay rom-com。 It didn’t annoy me at any level。 It also didn’t surprise me and I cannot say that it amused me either。 It was just completely average, predictable and not necessarily believable book。 It was… alright。 2。75*

I started and finished listening to this book today and thoroughly enjoyed it! 🍆🍆

UGHHHHHH。 I adore this universe, I adore Jasmine Guillory’s writing, and I adore this book。 If you’re a fan, absolutely run to pick this one up。 If you’re not a fan, I would highly recommend reading the others in this universe, although I’m certain you’d appreciate this as a stand-alone。What I really loved was the dive into anxiety。 It’s not often that a rom-com is able to deftly handle mental health, and I was so impressed here。 This is not a criticism on authors or the genre, but when it comes UGHHHHHH。 I adore this universe, I adore Jasmine Guillory’s writing, and I adore this book。 If you’re a fan, absolutely run to pick this one up。 If you’re not a fan, I would highly recommend reading the others in this universe, although I’m certain you’d appreciate this as a stand-alone。What I really loved was the dive into anxiety。 It’s not often that a rom-com is able to deftly handle mental health, and I was so impressed here。 This is not a criticism on authors or the genre, but when it comes to romance, people generally want to forget their problems and have an easy read。 Though this was still easy, I SO appreciated how Anna’s anxiety was discussed and dealt with throughout the book。 The pandemic really messed with my head and watching a romance blossom in spite of? Because of? In addition to? Someone’s anxiety was a mirror of my life that warmed my heart。 10/10 。。。more

A cute and fun read but not my favorite of the series。 Characters were enjoyable but not the most compelling or interesting in my opinion。 Sometimes their emotions and responses felt rushed but overall a good read

While We Were Dating by Jasmine Guillory This is the 6th book in The Wedding Date Series but this can easily be read as a stand alone。 I love how the characters are interconnected in these novels。 This was another charming , steamy, romcom by Guillory that I really enjoyed。 The writing was light and fun and I loved the romance。 Another winner for me! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Check out more of my book reviews at https://www。instagram。com/smashley。re。。。 or https://smashleyreads。com/ While We Were Dating by Jasmine Guillory This is the 6th book in The Wedding Date Series but this can easily be read as a stand alone。 I love how the characters are interconnected in these novels。 This was another charming , steamy, romcom by Guillory that I really enjoyed。 The writing was light and fun and I loved the romance。 Another winner for me! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Check out more of my book reviews at https://www。instagram。com/smashley。re。。。 or https://smashleyreads。com/ 。。。more

This is a fresh, fun addition to the series。 Actress Anna Gardiner is determined to relaunch her acting career and she's beginning with a new ad campaign for a snazzy new phone。 Ben Stephens is handling the campaign, and he agrees to pose as Anna's boyfriend to get her better publicity so she's in a better position to get a movie role she really, really wants。 But the fake relationship gets in the way of their true feelings as their relationship develops。 I truly enjoyed both of these characters This is a fresh, fun addition to the series。 Actress Anna Gardiner is determined to relaunch her acting career and she's beginning with a new ad campaign for a snazzy new phone。 Ben Stephens is handling the campaign, and he agrees to pose as Anna's boyfriend to get her better publicity so she's in a better position to get a movie role she really, really wants。 But the fake relationship gets in the way of their true feelings as their relationship develops。 I truly enjoyed both of these characters and loved watching them head toward HEA。 I love this series。 。。。more

3。5 starsAnother fun and cute romance from Jasmine Guillory。 Here, we have a glamourous movie star paired up with an ad exec。 The chemistry between the two was palpable and they were so supportive of each other。 I love how the worlds intersect and the easter egg of a previous couple was a bonus。
