Summary

Who is the real Margo?

Quentin Jacobsen has spent a lifetime loving the magnificently adventurous Margo Roth Spiegelman from afar。 So when she cracks open a window and climbs into his life—dressed like a ninja and summoning him for an ingenious campaign of revenge—he follows。 After their all-nighter ends, and a new day breaks, Q arrives at school to discover that Margo, always an enigma, has now become a mystery。 But Q soon learns that there are clues—and they're for him。 Urged down a disconnected path, the closer he gets, the less Q sees the girl he thought he knew。。。

I watched the movie and then read the book。 I think the book is better and I'm a big fan of the many theories of life (the cut strings, grass and boat theories)。I also like the fact that it takes place in Southern Florida, I feel like it fits the storyline well。I've read 3 of John Green's novels and this one is my favorite so far。 I watched the movie and then read the book。 I think the book is better and I'm a big fan of the many theories of life (the cut strings, grass and boat theories)。I also like the fact that it takes place in Southern Florida, I feel like it fits the storyline well。I've read 3 of John Green's novels and this one is my favorite so far。 。。。more

I love close friendships and adventures! I couldn't put this book down! LOVE it。 Even though Margo was a selfish person at least Quentin finally lives a little and gets out of his shell WITH his friends! Also enjoyed the movie。 I love close friendships and adventures!

All the world is Margo Roth Spiegelman’s stage and everyone else just lives in it。 Quentin spends the entire book putting Margo on a pedestal。 He fixates on her disappearance and makes it way deeper than it actually is。 This book reminds me of the quote, ‘Never meet your heroes, because they're sure to disappoint you’。 I did like this book, it made me contemplative。 Each person’s life is their own story and how do they piece together with other peoples’ stories and their perception of life in ge All the world is Margo Roth Spiegelman’s stage and everyone else just lives in it。 Quentin spends the entire book putting Margo on a pedestal。 He fixates on her disappearance and makes it way deeper than it actually is。 This book reminds me of the quote, ‘Never meet your heroes, because they're sure to disappoint you’。 I did like this book, it made me contemplative。 Each person’s life is their own story and how do they piece together with other peoples’ stories and their perception of life in general。 。。。more

I never really understood the hype of this book。 I wasn't too invested in the characters, and I thought the relationship was a little toxic and non-engaging。 I never really understood the hype of this book。 I wasn't too invested in the characters, and I thought the relationship was a little toxic and non-engaging。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I enjoyed reading Paper Towns。 The book was entertaining and I liked Quentin's friend group a lot。 However, it was not nearly a 5-star rating for me。 Whereas the beginning was really strong in my opinion and the road trip part was interesting as well, the middle part dragged itself while reading。 I was also tired of the numerous Whitman allusions after finishing the book and the ending wasn't that satisfying either。 All in all, I still loved the whole idea around Paper Towns being based on real I enjoyed reading Paper Towns。 The book was entertaining and I liked Quentin's friend group a lot。 However, it was not nearly a 5-star rating for me。 Whereas the beginning was really strong in my opinion and the road trip part was interesting as well, the middle part dragged itself while reading。 I was also tired of the numerous Whitman allusions after finishing the book and the ending wasn't that satisfying either。 All in all, I still loved the whole idea around Paper Towns being based on real occurrings and the ending fits the story in a perfect way even though it wasn't what I hoped it would be。If you're planning on reading Paper Towns I would suggest you to do so: Even though the book has not become one of my favorite books of all time, I enjoyed it throughout! 。。。more

First of all, John Green is a phenomenal writer! I read this book because I first read The Fault in Our Stars and absolutely loved it。 Paper Towns was good, but not as good as I thought it would be。 There was so much cussing, which I didn't feel like it needed to be there to make the story。 I also felt that it dragged on。 It could have been a little shorter and I think the same point would have come across。 First of all, John Green is a phenomenal writer! well, i’m gonna be honest。 i liked the book? yes, but principally because i identify with margo。 margo it’s definitely my favorite character, i found my self in her。 Q was in love of the idea he had of her, but a the end it’s cute that they can finally have their good ending。 it was mutual, but still, Q had an idea of her。 i love margo

Great story, but I feel it us not appropriate for a classroom library, unless a parent signs a permission slip。

i really liked it and especially enjoyed creation of Margo and her character (don’t want to spoil anything but I’m talking about “finding” her) also I think that the ending was PERFECT and i would not accept it any other way (it is actually one of the strongest parts of this book for me) Quentin’s and Margo’s relationship and how it developed was also great and very realistic which I enjoyed ✨

I love the way the characters are portrayed。 Just like other Green books the readers feel a connection to the characters。 I find the story touching as you can see the characters all struggle with their lives。 But the characters keep working together。 Also the quotes in this Book Are so well picked! Margo is such a mysterious character but I like how much we lear about her at the end。

I don’t like this book。 So many unnecessary paragraph, manage to finish this off in 6 days lolll

I was really worried I wouldn't like this one。 It's not that I thought it wouldn't be good, it's just that my graduation speech was based on a speech given by John Green that he based on this book。。。 I just hadn't read the book yet。 The speech had almost nothing to do with the book, but still, I wanted the book to be good。 And。。。 it was! Of the 4 books I've read by Green, I think this is my favorite。 My problem with Alaska was that it didn't have any core message for me to take away from it, and I was really worried I wouldn't like this one。 It's not that I thought it wouldn't be good, it's just that my graduation speech was based on a speech given by John Green that he based on this book。。。 I just hadn't read the book yet。 The speech had almost nothing to do with the book, but still, I wanted the book to be good。 And。。。 it was! Quentin understands and calls Ben <333Quentin finally begins to realize that Margo is just a girl, she's a normal person。 It's about time he stopped idolizing her so much。They go to the mall again, only now they all go。 They find some people with masks (?), it was Gus, the guard that appears at the beginning of the book, and some of his friends。 They go to investigate the place, and they are told that Margo was going there all the time。Quentin goes to Radar's house, because his parents left town and he's having a party。 Ben tells them that he and Lacey kissed, and this scene its just so fucking funny, i love their friendship so much。 Radar, Quentin, and Ben plan to be naked under their robes at graduation。they find more clues, finallynnn, although I'm getting more and more confused lol。 This book is VERY addictive, literally I can't stop reading it。graduation day, and he got a car <333。 In Omnictionary he starts looking for locations, and finds Agloe, which he says is a fictional town with 0 inhabitants, which they call paper town, at the bottom of the page there is a comment saying "fyi, whoever Edits this-the Population of agloe Will actually be One until may 29th at Noon。" OMFG MARGO WROTE THAT, IS SHE GOING TO K*LL HERSELF?He tells his friends, he goes to the graduation to drop off some beers, he tells his parents he's going to pick up Margo (all this very fast), and when he goes to leave we see that his friends are in the car, and they are going to accompany him <33333, omg i really thought they were going to stay, but no, they sacrificed their graduation to go with him <3, i love them。The road trip starts (one of my favorite parts of the book <33), lmao it's so funny how Ben needs to pee, and when he pees in a beer bottle, its hilarious。 After 30 minutes he has to pee again lol。 They make their first stop and omg they all have "jobs" to do, but Q forgets to buy a couple of things。 Ben bought racist t-shirts and Radar laughs and says he wishes a police will stop him to see how they react lmao。Lots of things happen, they play "That Guy Is a Gigolo," Q starts to see the car as a house (lol?)。 Q pees into an energy drink bottle, he likes the resulting aqua color and wants to keep it to show Lacey and Ben when they wake up, but Radar tells him he has to throw it out LMAO。The group makes a second pit stop for provisions, gas, and bathroom breaks。 The funny thing is that to wake Ben and Lacey, they put a song and start singing, its so funny。 They buy camo pants for Radar, and Quentin chooses a different T-shirt。 This time, it says, "WORLD'S BEST GRANDMA" LMAO。 As they leave, Ben says he has to pee again。Ben tells Q that he is worried about how he is going to react if they don't find Margo, or if they find her and he no longer feels "in love", Q gets angry and goes to yell at him, but BOOM THEY SHOCK, Q gives up for a moment but Ben managed to take control。 THANKFULLY nothing bad happens to anyone, Q just get a scratch。 They worry that a dripping sound might be gasoline。 Ben runs, thinking the minivan will blow up。 But it was just the beer and the energy drinks broken。 Then as nothing happened they continue with the trip, and repeatedly say that Ben is a hero lolQuentin finally goes to sleep, when he wakes up they are debating what to name the minivan。 They listen to music and continue the trip <333They get to Agloe, and see her car, then see her in an office writing OMFG, FINALLY THEY FOUND HER。 And its so。。。 dissapointing? i guess?。 She's alive, and she didn't even want them to find her is that , AGHHHHHHHG, AND THE SHE IS A BITCH TO BEN AND LACEY (i feel so sorry for her)。 SHE YELLS THAT THEY SHOWED UP WITHOUT ANY INVITATION OR WARNING, WTF。 HERE I STARTED GETTING REALLY ANGRY。 But then she apologizes to Q and Lacey。 Okay, now Margo "explains" a little of Q's doubts。 It turns out that she did leave clues, and that she was going to leave but it was going to be graduation day。 She doesn't believe that the city is made of paper, but that she herself is made of paper。 Margo tells her that when she was little she wrote a mystery story, in which she and Q investigate a murder, and he dies heroically。 They dig a "grave" for the characters, they kiss, and say goodbye。 Margo plans to go to New York City。 She will get a cell phone and an email and write and keep in touch。 The end is really "powerful", but i think i didnt appreciate it, honestly i was disappointed because i wanted to see more of Ben, Radar, Lacey and Q together。 I ended up caring more about them than Margo I was surprised how much I liked this book, I am looking forward to reading more of John Green's books。 。。。more
