stunning illustrations and pacing between pages - i realised this all the more strongly picking up the "lift the flap" version for the first time and reading it alongside this, what a terrible idea that was! the tension of reading/hearing a new animal-colour pairing and waiting for it to be revealed works best when all of its power is held in the turning of each page。 stunning illustrations and pacing between pages - i realised this all the more strongly picking up the "lift the flap" version for the first time and reading it alongside this, what a terrible idea that was! the tension of reading/hearing a new animal-colour pairing and waiting for it to be revealed works best when all of its power is held in the turning of each page。 。。。more

This review is for the Hindi translation only。 I remembered it as one of my son's earliest picture books -- had memories of reading it aloud in English and the rhythm was delightful -- and the board book perfect。Bought the bilingual book as a gift for a multilingual family -- first, it is not a board book。 Second, the Hindi translation is faulty -- it loses the original intent completely in translation。 The translator says "dekh raha" and "dekh rahi" instead of "dikh raha" and "dikh rahi"。 There This review is for the Hindi translation only。 I remembered it as one of my son's earliest picture books -- had memories of reading it aloud in English and the rhythm was delightful -- and the board book perfect。Bought the bilingual book as a gift for a multilingual family -- first, it is not a board book。 Second, the Hindi translation is faulty -- it loses the original intent completely in translation。 The translator says "dekh raha" and "dekh rahi" instead of "dikh raha" and "dikh rahi"。 There is very little text in this book -- how did they not get this right? It's not cheap either, for a flimsy paperback copy it is about $12 -- would not have minded the price if the content was perfectly translated。 。。。more

Always an excellent choice to read to young children。 The illustrations are colorful and keep them intrigued all the way through。

Great for very young children still learning colors, animals, and to enjoy books! A very short and simple read, maybe a bit too repetitive for parents' liking, but still a classic。- Heather's mom, 6/30/2021 Great for very young children still learning colors, animals, and to enjoy books! I read this book when I was younger, and have recently revisited it with the two little ones that are in my care。 I liked the simplicity behind it and all the colors and animals that are great learning tools for the kids!

some say pride and prejudice is the best book ever written。。they’re wrong。 this is the most intellectually advanced piece of literature to ever see the light of day。 truly a literary masterpiece。 if i could, i’d give it 10/10 stars。

I think Guillermo’s favorite part was the white dog。 He didn’t want us to turn to the next page。

A classic, with bold art that transfers well to the board book format。 I enjoy singing it aloud, which also makes it feel like a good fit for babies。

Jody

Early reader with colorful animals in a predictable style illustrated by Eric Carle。

Jane

This brilliant book put Eric Carle on the map - at least in the picture-book world。 It is a marvel of simplicity and elegance, a joy to read aloud。

Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See? Is another beneficial book to help children develop early literacy skills。 It teaches children different colors and animals, each page revealing a new animal and it’s color。 The words on each page stay almost exactly besides the animal and it’s color。 When using this book, I would let the child identify the animal and it’s color before reading each page。 By doing this, they then can follow along with the script each page follows and feel as if they are read Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See? The humans are extremely creepy。

This book would be beneficial to develop early literacy skills as it is a repetitive book。 Children can repeat this book back similarly to a script。 Additionally, it has rhyming which is great for development of early phonological awareness skills。

A very nostalgic book! This book involves using the sense of sight to see various animals and labelling what animal they are along with the colour they are。By reading this book I can see there is a lovely use of repetition and language relating to animals and colours。 This book would ideally be suited for the younger years in early years due to the use of simple sentences and repetitive language to build skills in labelling animals along with their corresponding colour。 A follow-up activity could A very nostalgic book! This book involves using the sense of sight to see various animals and labelling what animal they are along with the colour they are。By reading this book I can see there is a lovely use of repetition and language relating to animals and colours。 This book would ideally be suited for the younger years in early years due to the use of simple sentences and repetitive language to build skills in labelling animals along with their corresponding colour。 A follow-up activity could be singing along to this book and adding actions to represent animals for the children to join in with。 。。。more

The art work is fun and it is easy for an early reader to pick up the rhythm of the text。 My children enjoyed reading this book。

To know how the brown bear sees every other new animal has been a sheer pleasure for Aarvik。 He would repeat the animal names after us and then he just knew them so fond fully。
