The animals I see on public transport are not as funny nor as engaging as these。

Great, fun updated version of the Wheels on the bus - will be great for BBnR sessions in the Library。

Animals (mostly) travel on different vehicles, paired with singable verses to the tune Wheels on the Bus。I was hoping for a little more here。 Some pages are cute (seals on the sub dive up and down) but others seem to miss the mark, often for a rhyme that isn't always repeated。 Sometimes the animal rhymes with their vehicle (sheep and jeep) while other times there isn't a rhyme (seal and sub)。 Often, the repeated verse doesn't have a clear motion, which is part of the value of Wheels on the Bus ( Animals (mostly) travel on different vehicles, paired with singable verses to the tune Wheels on the Bus。I was hoping for a little more here。 Some pages are cute (seals on the sub dive up and down) but others seem to miss the mark, often for a rhyme that isn't always repeated。 Sometimes the animal rhymes with their vehicle (sheep and jeep) while other times there isn't a rhyme (seal and sub)。 Often, the repeated verse doesn't have a clear motion, which is part of the value of Wheels on the Bus (no going round and round or swish, swish, swish -- instead some of the repeated phrases include "through the mud" and "float home with glee。" I could make this work for storytime if I skipped certain pages, but overall the book doesn't have quite enough that makes it worth me putting in that effort。 Cute but not quite all the way there。 。。。more

This might be fun to sing along with but I found myself thinking “this is taking a long time to get through” and I wasn’t singing it it loud。

Vivid illustrations and funny rhymes will ensure kids have lots of fun with this amusing take on The wheels on the bus。

The Book Squirrel

A cute adaptation of the nursery rhyme gives us sheep in jeep going through the mud and a tiger in the glider doing loop-the-loops all day long。It's cute enough to entertain a toddler for a few minutes and preschoolers will get a giggle out of it。 A cute adaptation of the nursery rhyme gives us sheep in jeep going through the mud and a tiger in the glider doing loop-the-loops all day long。It's cute enough to entertain a toddler for a few minutes and preschoolers will get a giggle out of it。 。。。more

Love this! We enjoyed singing along to it and giggling at the funny animals and what they were getting up to。 The vivid illustrations add to the fun nature of the story。 Overall, definitely one a lot of children will adore and want to read over and over。 What a lovely story!

Another rollicking singalong, lots of laughably funny verses。We loved 'Car Car Truck Jeep', and 'Go Go Pirate Boat', I have read both numerous times at bedtime and in library/playgroup storytimes, with other parents joining in。 Familiar tunes and some fun new verses with familiar objects。 Both are great fun to read aloud (once you've practiced a bit!) and I've found that kids are fascinated by a song they know with new words。I was very excited to see a third in the series, and it's all about ani Another rollicking singalong, lots of laughably funny verses。We loved 'Car Car Truck Jeep', and 'Go Go Pirate Boat', I have read both numerous times at bedtime and in library/playgroup storytimes, with other parents joining in。 Familiar tunes and some fun new verses with familiar objects。 Both are great fun to read aloud (once you've practiced a bit!) and I've found that kids are fascinated by a song they know with new words。I was very excited to see a third in the series, and it's all about animals, so most likely a winner again。 With Sharratt illustrating you know what you're getting, very clear and colourful animals in some rather amusing vehicles。 And Charman does her usual trick of pulling off some funny verses with internal rhymes that are (mostly) simple enough to get your tongue around。 Who wouldn't like to see a tiger in a glider? The bees on their skis? Seals on a sub? With bits of learning in there - animal names, vehicles, animal sounds and actions, this is a perfect join-in bedtime singalong, which even finishes off with llamas in pyjamas ready for bed。 Fab。 As always。 And makes a great change from the real lyrics! For ages 2 and above (and why not younger?!)。With thanks to Netgalley for providing an advance reading copy。 。。。more
