Thor - Norse God of Thunder, protector of Asgard, the eternal realm, and Earth! Immensely powerful and a warrior without peer, Thor is cast down to Midgard (Earth) by his father, the almighty Odin, to learn humility。 He is trapped in the frail mortal form of lame doctor Donald Blake, yet when he strikes his cane upon the ground he is transformed into one of Marvel's most powerful superheroes!

If you are new to comics and Thor, I think this is a really good starting point。 The stories are really good and the fact files at the back give a good background on the characters found in Asgard。

Another great Marvel Platinum collection。 As ever, these volumes provide a superb overview of a Marvel character, with a smattering of issues from their earliest to their latest story arcs。Thor has a pretty convoluted plotline, overall, which is definitely to the detriment of the series。 There have been a large number of seemingly colossal changes to him, his godly pals, and Asgard, over the years, and I did find it a bit overbearing just how much changes between each era presented here。I was su Another great Marvel Platinum collection。 As ever, these volumes provide a superb overview of a Marvel character, with a smattering of issues from their earliest to their latest story arcs。Thor has a pretty convoluted plotline, overall, which is definitely to the detriment of the series。 There have been a large number of seemingly colossal changes to him, his godly pals, and Asgard, over the years, and I did find it a bit overbearing just how much changes between each era presented here。I was surprised to find I enjoyed the Civil War story the most out of all, given that I usually don't care in the slightest about that event。 A really cool issue (although still suffers from trying to do too much in one issue and rushing the end, as I always find)。 。。。more
