It was easy to spot the twists。 I liked the storyline of Jo and the other flight attendants but the backstory of the pilot was uninteresting。 Good first shot at a mystery thriller though。 She should consider writing a series on Jo or Big Daddy’s characters。

Not really my cup of tea， but a good book if you’re into thrillers。 Had a very nice happy ending to it which I’m also not the biggest fan of—I like the depressing， realistic books more。 Not my favorite， but if you want something action-packed it’ll definitely do the trick。

I picked this book to read while on vacation at York beach as I knew it would engage me and I would finish it before coming home and I was right！ But be forewarned， if you have any air travel in your immediate future hold off on this book until after！ It’s a thrill ride but I’d probably freak out if I read this in a plane！

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 Basic Premise of the Book:• On a flight from LA to NYC， Captain Bill Hoffman finds out that the internet technician who arrived at his home earlier than morning has taken his family hostage。 The choice in front of him: Crash the plane or his family dies。 There is also a plant inside the plane。• Bill realized that he needed help so he told Jo， his chief flight attendant whose nephew Theo works for the FBI。 She messaged him and he coordinated a response on the ground to save the family。 She also t Basic Premise of the Book:• On a flight from LA to NYC， Captain Bill Hoffman finds out that the internet technician who arrived at his home earlier than morning has taken his family hostage。 The choice in front of him: Crash the plane or his family dies。 There is also a plant inside the plane。• Bill realized that he needed help so he told Jo， his chief flight attendant whose nephew Theo works for the FBI。 She messaged him and he coordinated a response on the ground to save the family。 She also told the other two flight attendant to prepare the cabin for a gas attack。• When the FBI arrived at Bill’s place， the house exploded but the firemen discovered that it was empty。 The chase goes on。 They managed to locate the family car in an abandoned parking lot outside an abandoned mall but it was empty。 Eventually， they tracked the family hidden inside a moving truck near the airport。 The kidnapper， Saman， was surrounded but he managed to grab Theo’s gun and kill himself。 Bill’s family is safe。 • Up in the air， Jo had to get the cabin on their side。 She managed to devise a plan for the gas attack。 The flight attendants will wear portable oxygen tanks。 When the cockpit door opens and the gas canister is thrown into the cabin， she will catch the canister， drop it into one of the large garbage bags held by a volunteer。 The volunteer will then tie the bag and place it inside another bag， tie it and Jo will run into the lavatory， dump it into the toilet bowl， close the lid and lock the lavatory。 They were fairly successful。。。 until a second gas canister， which they weren’t expecting， came out。• Inside the cockpit， Bill learned that his co pilot Ben Miro was the plant。 Ben hijacked the plane with a gun。 Bill used morse code to tap out messages to the control tower on the ground giving them bits of information as he learns them。• Bill initially thought that the target will be one of the major landmarks in DC until the final twist and he learned that the intended target is Yankee Stadium。• Bill managed to wrestle Ben for the gun but was shot in the process。 He still managed to strangle Ben to death and take control of the plane。 Jo gained access into the cockpit using an emergency access and help Bill land the plane safely at JFK。• Bill learned that Ben and Saman were “brothers” from Syria who dreamed of heading to the US for a better life。 However， a few days before they were to leave， Saman’s father died and with a disabled mother， he stayed to take care of his siblings。 But he insisted that Ben leave。 When the US abandoned/pulled out of Syria， Saman’s entire family died and it was this injustice and anger that fuelled their shared desire for revenge。 。。。more

Thanks to Avid Reader Press for my free copy in exchange for my honest review！This was an action packed story that I devoured at the beach and think it is a great summer read！ It would definitely make a good movie and I think it was written with that in mind。 I enjoyed that it was written by a flight attendant and liked the alternating views throughout the story， as it always kept me on the edge of my seat！ However， I have seen many reviews talking about the villain in this story and I have to a Thanks to Avid Reader Press for my free copy in exchange for my honest review！This was an action packed story that I devoured at the beach and think it is a great summer read！ It would definitely make a good movie and I think it was written with that in mind。 I enjoyed that it was written by a flight attendant and liked the alternating views throughout the story， as it always kept me on the edge of my seat！ However， I have seen many reviews talking about the villain in this story and I have to agree with the portrayal。 I am disappointed that two Kurdish men were the villains in this story and wish the author had decided to go a different direction with the story and kidnappers。 It felt very wrong and left a bad taste in my mouth。 I did not realize this when I went into the story since I was so excited about the concept with kidnapping of a pilot's family， but definitely think this aspect of the story needs to be addressed to all possible readers。 。。。more

I was intrigued by the plot and wanted to read it。 I thought it might be be like “The Martian” or “Gone Girl” which kept me on edge and turning pages ASAP。 This started good but quickly turned flat。 I just wanted to get to the end。 I do see it as movie。 It would have better dialogue and more defined characters which could be really good。 But for the book it didn’t click entirely with me。

I had to go with 4 stars because of the ingenuity of the author- a former flight attendant。 Without that ingenious touch I would have gone with 3 stars because my credulity was pushed to its absolute limit from the 55% point through to the end。 An entertaining and fast read though- I’m sure it will make a great movie。
