Summary

Link must defeat evil at every turn in his perilous quest to help Princess Zelda!

Once upon a time, wizards tried to conquer the Sacred Realm of Hyrule。 The Spirits of Light sealed the wizards’ power within the Shadow Crystal and banished them to the Twilight Realm beyond the Mirror of Twilight。 Now, an evil menace is trying to find Midna, Princess of the Twilight Realm, and the fragments of the Shadow Crystal to gain the power to rule over both the Twilight Realm and the World of Light。

Midna has been Link’s traveling companion and ally since the start of their journey, but will her ultimate goal of saving the Twilight Realm drive her away from Link? Link’s own quest to save Hyrule leads him to seek the advice of Princess Zelda—and learn that to defeat the ultimate evil plaguing the world they will need a particular weapon: the Master Sword!

Read this cover to cover twice with my kiddo, who saw this at the library and lost her mind with excitement。 Nevermind that it was number 5 in the series。 We may request the rest from the series for her, I wouldn’t want to quash such book reading excitement! Otherwise, a good manga retelling of the video game!

Was that all it took to get the Master Sword? I think BOTW!Link would like a word with you, TP!Link。 I'm not sure where it's going now that all the pieces seem to be in place。 4/5 Was that all it took to get the Master Sword? I let it slip to my students that I had never read manga before! Before I knew it, this book was thrown into my hands! I felt like I was missing a lotta backstory (obviously) but it was a fun first manga!

A brilliant continuation to the story of 'The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess'。The book was beautifully illustrated and added depth to an already brilliant story。 A brilliant continuation to the story of 'The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess'。The book was beautifully illustrated and added depth to an already brilliant story。 。。。more

Didn’t find this one as interesting as the others, but I did enjoy seeing a bit more of Midna’s past。

In this volume we finally get some explanation for Midna's mean behavior。 It doesn't excuse her, but it does develop her better as a character, and we finally reach the turning point where she stops acting only her own interest and starts caring about others。 The backstory we are given is entirely new content not seen in the game, and it adds a lot of depth to both Midna and Zelda, which was quite beautiful。 Speaking of additional story, Link himself has a new and mysterious backstory that was s In this volume we finally get some explanation for Midna's mean behavior。 It doesn't excuse her, but it does develop her better as a character, and we finally reach the turning point where she stops acting only her own interest and starts caring about others。 The backstory we are given is entirely new content not seen in the game, and it adds a lot of depth to both Midna and Zelda, which was quite beautiful。 Speaking of additional story, Link himself has a new and mysterious backstory that was spoken of in Book 1 and is still hinted at even in Book 5。 I am quite curious how the manga plans to resolve it。 And as you can see from the front cover--the Master Sword。 At last。 The art is truly impressive。 I adored the sense of awe and foreboding as Link walks in the footsteps of the legend before him--the Hero of Time, and the amount of respect still left to that legacy。 In the space of a few panels, the comic manages to give the Master Sword a greater impression of pure power than you ever sense in the games。 A power that can conquer evil。 But with those epic and triumphant visuals, comes a certain。。。foreboding。 A shadow。 Such subtlety in the drawings, but definitely there。 For if one is to defeat evil, one must first confront the darkness within oneself。 Content: I will note that the spirituality in this series has been a bit confusing so far。 There is a definite Light and Dark, but then there is also the Twilight, which usually gets grouped into the Dark by the wise sages of Hyrule, which is treated as grossly unfair。 And I get it, religious leaders can often get things wrong, but even the SPIRITS OF LIGHT warn that the Shadow Magic wielded by Midna is。。。not good。。。。but Link continues to put his trust in Midna, which I assume will pay off。 It's just a bit muddled in what message its trying to send。 。。。more

Obtaining the Master sword and the Arbiter’s Grounds are two of my favorite sequences of the game and I thought they were beautifully handled here。 I also loved how Midna and Link’s relationship is getting more fully developed here than I feel it was in the game。 It’s becoming very sweet。 I didn’t much are for the backstory with Midna and Zelda though。 It was sweet, true, but it also felt a little out of the blue。 I would say that was the only downside of this particular section of the story。 I Obtaining the Master sword and the Arbiter’s Grounds are two of my favorite sequences of the game and I thought they were beautifully handled here。 I also loved how Midna and Link’s relationship is getting more fully developed here than I feel it was in the game。 It’s becoming very sweet。 I didn’t much are for the backstory with Midna and Zelda though。 It was sweet, true, but it also felt a little out of the blue。 I would say that was the only downside of this particular section of the story。 I loved the rest! 。。。more

Ok, this book gave me chills。 From the beginning to the end! And I kept hearing the different soundtracks in my head, and I'm so glad we got more Midna backstory! The Manga is filled with action and interesting facts about the Twilight Princess。 For those who've played the game it's all that and more as they dig deeper into the lore and plot points into the game。 The Manga is filled with action and interesting facts about the Twilight Princess。 For those who've played the game it's all that and more as they dig deeper into the lore and plot points into the game。 。。。more

I'm reading these aloud with my 14-yr-old who has been obsessed with Link for years! He binged these all 1-6 in two days, and then he insisted I read them, too。 This one was not as good as the others but not bad。 The art is amazing! The Legend of Zelda was action packed and I could not put it down once I started reading it。 It was very fast paced and was a great continuation of the other books。 It added quite a bit more detail to characters other than Link for example Midna。 Overall I enjoyed this book heavily for all the action the great plot。

Another fantastic, fun, and quick read in the Zelda: Twilight Princess series。 Book 5 goes into some backstories which gives the story and characters more depth。 Love it!

Much as I enjoyed the last two installments, I loved this even more。 Amazing as the game was, I'm overwhelmed yet again by how much more there really was to the storyline, and the depth of the character relationships explored in this manga series。 While the game made it clear Midna and Zelda were acquainted, I really like how that relationship was a fair bit deeper here。 It's so charming and so sad to know what got in the way of them having a fulfilling friendship with one another。 I feel the ma Much as I enjoyed the last two installments, I loved this even more。 Amazing as the game was, I'm overwhelmed yet again by how much more there really was to the storyline, and the depth of the character relationships explored in this manga series。 While the game made it clear Midna and Zelda were acquainted, I really like how that relationship was a fair bit deeper here。 It's so charming and so sad to know what got in the way of them having a fulfilling friendship with one another。 I feel the manga series has explored everyone's--Link's included--backgrounds with a great deal more thought and care, and the artwork is beautiful。 And that cliff-hanger wherein the Ganondorf climax is set to occur? These manga adaptations are always at their strongest, I think, when they significantly expand on the original plot, so the Zelda/Midna backstory in this volume made me really happy, especially since Zelda doesn't get all that much to do in Twilight Princess。 Unfortunately I don't have volume 6 so now I have to wait to read more :( These manga adaptations are always at their strongest, I think, when they significantly expand on the original plot, so the Zelda/Midna backstory in this volume made me really happy, especially since Zelda doesn't get all that much to do in Twilight Princess。 Unfortunately I don't have volume 6 so now I have to wait to read more :( 。。。more

I’m loving the subtle references to Ocarina in this one。 The changes the authors are making to the story I feel are for the better, Zelda having more character development for instance。

Skull Kid's little dialogue brings warmth into the crimped corners of my heart。 He's been waiting for the Hero all this time and guarding the Master Sword。 But Zelda and Midna's friendship earns the fifth star。 Their bond makes the story and what will happen that much more poignant。 Skull Kid's little dialogue brings warmth into the crimped corners of my heart。 He's been waiting for the Hero all this time and guarding the Master Sword。 But Zelda and Midna's friendship earns the fifth star。 Their bond makes the story and what will happen that much more poignant。 。。。more

I felt like the Arbiter's ground was too rushed and sometimes things aren't overly clear and you have to stop for a second to figure them out, but nothing major。 I felt like the Arbiter's ground was too rushed and sometimes things aren't overly clear and you have to stop for a second to figure them out, but nothing major。 。。。more
