Summary

'I'm gonna die。 I'm literally gonna die。'
'Wouldn't recommend that,' says Juliet, as if she's been on a two week holiday to Death and gave it a two out of five on TripAdvisor。

For Angel, life is only about one thing: The Ark – a pop-rock trio of teenage boys who are currently taking the world by storm。 Being part of The Ark’s fandom has given her everything – her friend Juliet, her dreams, her place in the world。

Jimmy owes everything to The Ark。 He’s their frontman – and playing in a band with his mates is all he ever dreamed of doing。

But dreams don't always turn out the way you think, and when Jimmy and Angel are unexpectedly thrust together they find out just how strange and surprising facing up to reality can be。

Funny and wise, I Was Born for This is a stunning reflection on the power of believing in something - especially yourself。

I loved the beginning! I saw myself in this book and I’m not sure what to feel about it lmao。 The ending was kinda messy tho, rhythm and plot wise。 Still, it was a nice reading :)

This book gets all the stars, I SO enjoyed it!I’ve now read all of Alice Oseman’s books (that I can get; damn Heartstopper 4 not being available in Canada until the end of the year) and this is one of my favourites, right behind Radio Silence。 I loved the characters, I loved how effortlessly diverse it felt, I loved the story, it was just fantastic。

This reminds me of being the biggest fan girl, queuing for hours to see my favourite band and following them like a religion。 It also reminded me of the sense of loss when I stopped feeling that way。 I’ve met some of my favourite celebrities and been deeply disappointed。 For all of these reasons this is a hit in the gut。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 No pensaba que lo fuera a acabar tan rápido de leer mas de 200 paginas en los 2 últimos días。 Y aunque toda la parte final no me la esperaba así, he de decir que he disfrutado mucho de todos los personajes principales, aunque a veces no podía con Jimmy。 Muy identificado con Angel y I believe in Lister Supremacy

omg i so loved this book。 it made me think about the way I felt three years ago when I was a fan of this huge kpop band。 the story and the feelings are so realistic that it looks like real life。 the characters have been well established as they’re all genuinely complex, beautiful with a part of darkness without falling into clichés。 (time to sleep so I’ll finish this review tomorrow)

Besides misuse of the word “inshallah”, a homophone mix-up, mildly inaccurate Muslim rep (the details were a bit off) this book has no right being so good。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 4,5 🌟 Es un libro francamente hermoso, no le doy 5 estrellas porque a veces las partes de Angel me lateaban un poco, pero me encantó。 Me gustó que no tuviera romance romance, que la historia se centrara en algo tan importante como la amistad, que tocara temas como la ansiedad, que todo transcurriera tan rápido。 Un libro hermoso y un poco más adulto que Heartstopper。

I'm not into boybands and fandoms so didn't expect much。 Silly me - this is Alice Oseman, who once again delivered an emotional and perfectly rendered story I adored。 The friendships are exquisite, characters totally realistic, anxiety scary-as, with diversity-plus in teens of colour and queer representation。 No romance yet a story full of love。 I'm not into boybands and fandoms so didn't expect much。 Silly me - this is Alice Oseman, who once again delivered an emotional and perfectly rendered story I adored。 The friendships are exquisite, characters totally realistic, anxiety scary-as, with diversity-plus in teens of colour and queer representation。 No romance yet a story full of love。 。。。more

Alice Oseman is becoming one of my favorite authors of all time extremely fast。 Loveless will always have a special place in my heart but I think I was born for this was my favorite so far。It just made me feel so much things at once and I was so invested with the characters。

In an otherwise mediocre existence, we choose to feel passion。I'm probably in the minority when it comes to this book。 even though I liked the majority of it, everything started to snowball around 80%。 It felt as if there were too many things happening at the same time。。。 making it feel very messy?? There was also a lot left up in the air at the end,,,, so when I finished the book, I felt rather disappointed and had loads of questions。BUT I also loved the characters and the book itself had a In an otherwise mediocre existence, we choose to feel passion。I'm probably in the minority when it comes to this book。 even though I liked the majority of it, everything started to snowball around 80%。 It felt as if there were too many things happening at the same time。。。 making it feel very messy?? Other than them I still loved Jimmy and Rowan and even ended up liking Juliet who I felt iffy about for most of it。 If I'm being honest I am a little scared of Angel。。。。 she was just very very unhealthy obsessed with The Ark that it freaked me out a little but she definitely had some very relatable moments that made me love her character like the others :) 。。。more

Once again, Alice Oseman writes a unique story, with important themes and very relatable characters。 I really enjoyed the two different perspectives we got throughout the story。 My only "issue" with the novel is that I didn’t get a sense of real closure by the end。 I understand the decision to make it more open-ended, which hints that the characters still have a long way to go before learning to love themselves, but I would have liked a couple more chapters。 Once again, Alice Oseman writes a unique story, with important themes and very relatable characters。 I really enjoyed the two different perspectives we got throughout the story。 My only "issue" with the novel is that I didn’t get a sense of real closure by the end。 I understand the decision to make it more open-ended, which hints that the characters still have a long way to go before learning to love themselves, but I would have liked a couple more chapters。 。。。more

This was such a pleasant read。 I love the way Alice Oseman writes characters and makes them feel so real。

I ADORE THIS BOOK AND EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE CHARACTERS
