This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 So， after watching seven episodes of its great 3-D anime format， I couldn't wait another week to find out what happened to Legoshi and the gang。 With Legoshi and Louis becoming gangsters， the narrative was becoming more intriguing。 However， I was disappointed by the hurried ending since I really wanted Louis to marry Juno， especially because， like Haru and Legoshi， each pair didn't appear nearly enough during the story to truly be engaged。Don’t get me wrong， the character development was really So， after watching seven episodes of its great 3-D anime format， I couldn't wait another week to find out what happened to Legoshi and the gang。 With Legoshi and Louis becoming gangsters， the narrative was becoming more intriguing。 However， I was disappointed by the hurried ending since I really wanted Louis to marry Juno， especially because， like Haru and Legoshi， each pair didn't appear nearly enough during the story to truly be engaged。Don’t get me wrong， the character development was really well done in this series but the plot was changing so much in terms of genre change that it made the story disorganised。 Regardless it’s a story you would get your teeth into if you’re into the furry world！ 。。。more

I've never read manga before but I threw this one on my kindle and thought I'd give it a shot。 I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it and how fast I read it。I can't remember how I heard about this manga since manga isn't something I ever really had any interest in。 I found out about it and heard it was picked up by Netflix as a show but that's the extent of the information I found out before I put it in the back of my mind。 when I finally decided I wanted to try manga I figured I'd I've never read manga before but I threw this one on my kindle and thought I'd give it a shot。 I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it and how fast I read it。I can't remember how I heard about this manga since manga isn't something I ever really had any interest in。 I found out about it and heard it was picked up by Netflix as a show but that's the extent of the information I found out before I put it in the back of my mind。 when I finally decided I wanted to try manga I figured I'd give it a shot on my kindle since manga is black and white anyways and relatively the same size as my kindle screen。 I had no idea what manga to load up onto my kindle but I'd heard of one about anthropomorphic animals called "beastars" and decided it was my best bet。 so yea， I went into it pretty much only knowing it was about anthropomorphic animal characters （which was apparently enough for me to pick it up）I truly had no idea how to even read manga， so the first few pages were me figuring out 1）I'm reading the book backwards。 like I'm literally flipping backwards through my kindle （the progress bar even starts at the opposite end） and 2） I'm also reading the pages backwards （read the panels and speech bubbles on the right before the panels and speech bubbles on the left） alright so I'm a few pages in and finally figuring out how to even read the darn thing when -- holy smokes did I already finish the chapter？ ok well that was good。 this is going pretty swiftly and is really capturing my attention and -- oh my gosh I just finished the entire first volume！onto the next！ 。。。more

4。5 stars* I read all 22 volumes of this manga and I am reviewing the whole story*Honestly， no plot hole or stupid plot twist or weird decision will make me dislike this。TW: Suicide， Selfharm， Sexual Assault， Gore， implied child abusePlotIt is set in a modern society， except every character is an animal。 Those animals being separated by herbivore and carnivore in a world were eating meat is crime。 But then in a high school a student gets eaten and all herbivore students are afraid to be next whi 4。5 stars* I read all 22 volumes of this manga and I am reviewing the whole story*Honestly， no plot hole or stupid plot twist or weird decision will make me dislike this。TW: Suicide， Selfharm， Sexual Assault， Gore， implied child abusePlotIt is set in a modern society， except every character is an animal。 Those animals being separated by herbivore and carnivore in a world were eating meat is crime。 But then in a high school a student gets eaten and all herbivore students are afraid to be next while every carnivore is suspected to be the murderer。 MC Legoshi， a wolf， a socially awkward outsider and member of the Drama club is rumored to have killed his friend。 It is very cool， complex high school murder plot with a lot of thought behind it。 The second arc is way less great handling the world politics on the herbivore vs carnivore issue and Legoshi trying to find a serial killer with his new abilities。 The second arc is lacking a lot and has some plot holes， but it did not hinder me on loving the first arc of the story and genuinely being in love with that colorful cast of characters。I laughed， screamed and cried reading this and idk what I would want more。CharactersThere are a ton of characters and I think what this manga does well is creating a bunch of side characters with meaning and small character arcs of their own giving sometimes entire chapters dedicated to them， their perspective and what they do。It is amazing to see how every character has to fight the stereotypes of the species they are born with and the expectations society has for them。 And also how those expectations changes them。MC Legoshi is very interesting character I love to bits。 He was definitely my favorite character during the first character arc， but started to be slowly replaced by Louis。 The character dynamics is great and the tensions between them are SO GOOD。 Reading it solely for the characters alone。 。。。more

After watching the first couple of episodes of the anime adaptation of this series I decided I had to check out the original manga。Volume One does not disappoint。 The art is a little rough/sketchy but it works。 The story is essentially the same as the anime， but I prefer the order of telling in the manga。 Scenes seem to flow more smoothly here。Characters are distinctive and fun and there is darkness afoot， far more than the family-friendly cover art suggests。Four BEASTARS。 Recommended！
