I love the Octonauts。 The books allow the children reading the books to fantacize exploring the depths of the ocean with talking animals。

This is another excellent Octonauts book, suitable for many ages as it teaches valuable lessons about ocean life。 My daughter went back to this book from her childhood as she was studying coral reefs。 This book is about a coral relief becoming deserted due to it changing white - as the coral died。 The Octonauts work out the problem and help restore the coral reef to its former glory。

This one had so much to learn! The main point is about coral bleaching, but when all the creatures move away from the white coral, the Octonauts travel through many different water habitats and I loved how everything was labeled to show the differences between them。 Also, bonus stars for the witty store names in the coral village - especially the Bar Acuda, Squid Inc。, and Nudibranch Library ;-)

Oktonauttikirjat ovat kauniita ja tehty omaperäisellä tavalla。

This book follows the general structure of an Octonauts episode really well。 It did make for a pretty wordy picture book, though。 However, even though it was on the long side, my two-year-old still sat through it just fine。

Can't rate。。。 I guess I'm just not the target audience。 Cute, well-intentioned, but I just didn't like it and yet can't say why。 Can't rate。。。 I guess I'm just not the target audience。 Cute, well-intentioned, but I just didn't like it and yet can't say why。 。。。more

Great book but somehow Dashi Dog became Sauci Dog。 Of course, my son corrected me each time she came up。

Ok, I just have to start this off by saying how absolutely adorable the illustrations are。 These chibi style animals are delightful。Meet the octonauts – eight adorable aquatic explorers who were trying to go on vacation when they discovered a mystery – the Great Reef is dying。 Join them as they attempt to solve the puzzle and save the reef。This simple story with strong conservationist themes is excellent for children, striking the right balance between engaging and informative。

Read this today with my kids。 As I've mentioned elsewhere, I'm not a huge fan of these books because I think there are too many characters。 This one, however, I will make exception for because there is a lot of science in it, and I like he character Mr。 Slowstache。 Read this today with my kids。 As I've mentioned elsewhere, I'm not a huge fan of these books because I think there are too many characters。 This one, however, I will make exception for because there is a lot of science in it, and I like he character Mr。 Slowstache。 。。。more

This is probably my favorite book in the Octonaut series。 The Octonauts go on holiday to Great Reef City, only to discover it abandoned and colorless。 They find one lonely inhabitant, Mr。 Slowtache the turtle, for whom they try to help find different accommodations for。 As a result,we get to see many different kinds of ocean and freshwater habitats for turtles。 In the end, he decides to stay in his home and the Octonauts decide to help find out why the reef has no color。 They soon realize that t This is probably my favorite book in the Octonaut series。 The Octonauts go on holiday to Great Reef City, only to discover it abandoned and colorless。 They find one lonely inhabitant, Mr。 Slowtache the turtle, for whom they try to help find different accommodations for。 As a result,we get to see many different kinds of ocean and freshwater habitats for turtles。 In the end, he decides to stay in his home and the Octonauts decide to help find out why the reef has no color。 They soon realize that the entire reef has organisms living in it, which have been completely covered by the buildings, which block out the sun and drains the color。 They remove some of the buildings and soon the reef explodes in color again。 As usual, I loved the illustrations and the way they presented the facts。 Recommended for ages 5-8, 4 stars。 。。。more

A beautifully illustrated book that helps even the littlest ones learn we need to take special care of our fragile environment。The characters are adorable, the writing fun and imaginative and the lesson very important。 What is there not to like?

My family discovered the show a year ago and we love。 It's entertaining and educational and creative; three things I look for in shows for my son。 The Octonauts also remind me of shows I grew up watching in Hong Kong so that added to my keenness to make sure my son saw the show。 Anyway, when I came across the books I was thrilled。 As a reader and writer, I immediately saw another opportunity to promote reading to my son, which he already loves。 Great stuff from Meomi。 My family discovered the show a year ago and we love。 It's entertaining and educational and creative; three things I look for in shows for my son。 The Octonauts also remind me of shows I grew up watching in Hong Kong so that added to my keenness to make sure my son saw the show。 Anyway, when I came across the books I was thrilled。 As a reader and writer, I immediately saw another opportunity to promote reading to my son, which he already loves。 Great stuff from Meomi。 。。。more

Not my favorite Octonauts, but the art in this one was a lot better than the rest。 Coming home to read these books with my sis is a great thing。 :) Also, these are great kids books and I wish that they had continued making more!

Brilliant digital illustrations; such a rich, lush and vibrant visual world Meomi have created in this series。 The story is fun and engaging, and touches upon important issues without being didactic。 Characters are cute without being cloying。 Parents may also appreciate subtle adult humor touches in this title such as a book hidden in one of the scenes entitled 'reef madness。' Brilliant digital illustrations; such a rich, lush and vibrant visual world Meomi have created in this series。 The story is fun and engaging, and touches upon important issues without being didactic。 Characters are cute without being cloying。 Parents may also appreciate subtle adult humor touches in this title such as a book hidden in one of the scenes entitled 'reef madness。' 。。。more

My children are more environmentally conscious than I was at their age。 They also love cute things like Hello Kitty and Kirby。 So when I saw The Octonauts and the Great Ghost Reef by Meomi at my library I had to check it out。As soon as I started reading the story, both children dropped what they were doing。 They snuggled next to me on the couch for me to read the book。The Octonauts are a group of animal underwater explorers。 In this book they decided to spend their vacation on the Great Reef。 Wh My children are more environmentally conscious than I was at their age。 They also love cute things like Hello Kitty and Kirby。 So when I saw The Octonauts and the Great Ghost Reef by Meomi at my library I had to check it out。As soon as I started reading the story, both children dropped what they were doing。 They snuggled next to me on the couch for me to read the book。The Octonauts are a group of animal underwater explorers。 In this book they decided to spend their vacation on the Great Reef。 When they arrive though, they find a ghost town with only one elderly sea turtle left。In the course of their investigation they discover that the town has choked all the sunlight from the coral。 To save the town they must save the coral and learn to build in a more environmentally friendly way。Along with the story each page has all the illustrated animals and plants labeled。 We read the book through once for the story and a second time to see all the different animals and plants。I will have to look for the other books in the series。The Series: * The Octonauts and The Only Lonely Monster (2006) * The Octonauts and the Sea of Shade (2007) * The Octonauts and the Frown Fish (2008) * The Octonauts and the Great Ghost Reef (2009) 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 EEEEH!!!I LOVE THE DRAWINGS AND THE OCTONAUTS - THEY ARE SO COOL and they have FUN and help rebuild the life of a little sea creature that lived through a great city under the sea - and then kept living there after all the people abandoned the city after the coral life was stifled by the city。THE OCTONAUNTS SAVE THE DAY!!

Laura

Cute illustrations and informative without the children realizing it。

Quite possibly the cutest picture book ever。 With a fun story, and very detailed illustrations, this book would be great for a beginning reader who wants something to expand imagination。 I can even forgive the puns for this one。
