I've seemingly read this twice already in past years according to a note I found in it when I decided to pick it up yet again。 I have to say that the happy memories I've associated with this book made it one of the best in the entire series for me however after reading it again all I was able to see was a very stupid family making stupid decisions which would otherwise be obvious red flags。 It's not entirely Greg who is the wimpy kid in this book however the whole family。 The general idea is coo I've seemingly read this twice already in past years according to a note I found in it when I decided to pick it up yet again。 I have to say that the happy memories I've associated with this book made it one of the best in the entire series for me however after reading it again all I was able to see was a very stupid family making stupid decisions which would otherwise be obvious red flags。 It's not entirely Greg who is the wimpy kid in this book however the whole family。 The general idea is cool however the way things go down is pathetic and infuriating especially regarding the situation with the Beardo family。 Instead of being respectful and explaining their mistakes they see what the best option to avoid the latter is rather than facing them as decent human beings would。 The mother figure， Susan and Manny are absolutely a waste of space and reminded me of both Briony and Emily Tallis in Atonement by Ian McEwan because they are always in charge regardless of what the others may think and whatever they say goes leading to huge problems rather than a solution to improve their awful situation。 Nothing really turned out fine in this novel in terms of the situation and the ending wasn't as optimistic as the other books in the series。 Kinney makes it clear that were it not for overpopulation， all of the problems the Heffleys face would be avoided。 It made me feel claustrophobic， hot and anxious because society pisses me off。 At least they did manage to eat some delicious apple pie despite crashing their car， have seagulls attack them， have their wallets and keys locked in a locker in a water park they visited and never having a comfortable sleeping situation because of a pig。 Greg isn't honest and never admits to having had the locker keys all along unfortunately， well as far as we know hahaha。 。。。more
