Just not for me， I guess。 There were plenty of elements that I liked， Fortuna being one of them， but ultimately this book just didn’t feel well executed to me。 I’m not quite sure what I was missing or what just didn’t work for me， but the entire time I read this book something just felt off。 Idk。 Kinda disappointed。 But despite all that I’m still curious to see how the story will continue。 Just don’t have the burning desire to jump into the next book right away。

MY FAVORITE BOOK。 cant wait to read the whole series！ i loved the writing so much。 i read this in 9 hours！ defenitly a recommend for people who love the fea world and fantasy。

The idea about what Fortuna is， is really cool。 The story was reminiscent of Court of Thorn and Roses but not as good。 The whole trail for becoming the queen was rather ridiculous。 You’re telling me no other fae woman was able to complete this？ Maybe it’s just me， but that the “trail” didn’t seem like it would be terrible for a fae。 Not sure if I will read the next one…

Why did it take me a week to read the last 10% of this book？ Don’t get me wrong， I really enjoyed this and the cliffhanger left me wanting the second book asap。 Between working 10 hours a day and crashing into bed at night， this book has taken me forever to finish but I’m glad I got there。- I liked this magic system and the take on the fae world。- I thought the characters were interesting。 Fortuna was likeable and made reasonable decisions and I could understand her choices。 I liked Collith and Why did it take me a week to read the last 10% of this book？ Don’t get me wrong， I really enjoyed this and the cliffhanger left me wanting the second book asap。 Between working 10 hours a day and crashing into bed at night， this book has taken me forever to finish but I’m glad I got there。- I liked this magic system and the take on the fae world。- I thought the characters were interesting。 Fortuna was likeable and made reasonable decisions and I could understand her choices。 I liked Collith and some of our minor characters too。 I thought the trials to become queen really added something to the book but I wish we got more about Fortuna and her brothers relationship as he seemed so off with her and it might have worked better if we got some flashbacks to why getting him back was so important （besides the obvious）。- I liked the plot and the pacing was good。 I didn’t feel bored， however， some of the twists were predictable and I felt that the ending - although good - felt hurried for the next book。I would recommend if you want a light fantasy read！ 。。。more

Not bad but not good。 Fortuna is written in a way that makes it really hard to care about what happens to her。 There were so many things that happened but it also felt like nothing happened。 Like for every big reveal I didn’t really care because the relationship between Fortuna and the other characters wasn’t really there。

This is the first ✨schmutty✨book I’ve read and it did not disappoint。 If you like a dark fantasy with some spicy 🌶 romance this is a good one to read。 I found myself not only liking the premise and plot of the book but the characters were swoon worthy too。 I loved Fortuna’s character development in this book and y’all she a bad b*tch。 Also， the mysterious Laurie omfg。 The ending has me wanting to binge the rest of the series。 Please check TR/CW before reading！
