Summary

Another cover edition for this ISBN

Since its immediate success in 1813, Pride and Prejudice has remained one of the most popular novels in the English language。 Jane Austen called this brilliant work "her own darling child" and its vivacious heroine, Elizabeth Bennet, "as delightful a creature as ever appeared in print。" The romantic clash between the opinionated Elizabeth and her proud beau, Mr。 Darcy, is a splendid performance of civilized sparring。 And Jane Austen's radiant wit sparkles as her characters dance a delicate quadrille of flirtation and intrigue, making this book the most superb comedy of manners of Regency England。

4。5/5It took me quite a long time to read this book (2 weeks) because the language was strangling and torturing my monkey brain。 The story can be dull at times, but I love the characters in the novel。 It's fascinating how human nature can be so wonderfully captured and shown to the readers。 The romance was cool。 4。5/5It took me quite a long time to read this book (2 weeks) because the language was strangling and torturing my monkey brain。 The story can be dull at times, but I love the characters in the novel。 It's fascinating how human nature can be so wonderfully captured and shown to the readers。 The romance was cool。 。。。more

It looks like my dislike for enemies-to-lovers stories also counts in classics。I think the symbolism, the theme of classism and overall historic setting of this book were interesting。 I also liked the writing style of the book。 BUT (please don't hate me) almost nothing happens? I had a hard time reading more than 50 pages at the time, cause I did get bored while reading。 It looks like my dislike for enemies-to-lovers stories also counts in classics。I think the symbolism, the theme of classism and overall historic setting of this book were interesting。 I also liked the writing style of the book。 BUT (please don't hate me) almost nothing happens? There is always a sense of adventure when reading a classic, a balance between whether or not it will live up to its fame。 And while Pride and Prejudice always seemed so very overrated to me, having read it, I can honestly say it is one of the greatest pieces of literature I have ever read。

P&P is my first classic ever so I'm still kinda new to the genre but let me tell you, I think it's actually really enjoyable。 I watched the movie before I read the book, but to be honest, I loved both。 I don't know how to address this but, this might probably be one of my comfort books<3 P&P is my first classic ever so I'm still kinda new to the genre but let me tell you, I think it's actually really enjoyable。 I watched the movie before I read the book, but to be honest, I loved both。 I don't know how to address this but, this might probably be one of my comfort books<3 。。。more
