Summary

When Rintarou asks Maria to accompany him to his family’s next party, it’s like something out of a dream。 But as Maria’s feelings for him only grow stronger, she worries that Yokohama high society is no place for the daughter of a lowly Mayuzumi family helper。 Can Maria overcome her self-doubt and the class divide—especially when there’s a romantic rival who’s ever so eager to remind Maria of her station?

Rebecca

A definite improvement over the first volume, largely because Maria is finding her voice (rather literally) and actively trying to overcome an upbringing that made her into a doormat。

This was a great second volume! Maria acted more courageous and even joked with Rintarou, Rintarou was great throughout, and the artwork during the final chapter was stunning! It's a shame that these volumes are relatively short cuz I wanted more, but what I got I really liked。 I do like Rintarou and Maria's budding relationship though I'm concerned about how it will affect both of them as well as their families。 Speaking of, Maria's mother doesn't bother me so much despite her constant berating This was a great second volume! VIDEO REVIEW HERE: https://youtu。be/U2ZpGNrXpyAThis was a delightful sequel! Sometimes we need people to come alongside us and show us who we could be and stir our hearts to change despite the adversity we may face from others (or even in Maria's case, family too)。 I found this to be very much true for Maria in this volume。 She is such a sweet character, but due to the constant negativity she has had voiced to her, she's so fearful of doing the wrong thing, offending someone, or upsetting her mo VIDEO REVIEW HERE: https://youtu。be/U2ZpGNrXpyAThis was a delightful sequel! Sometimes we need people to come alongside us and show us who we could be and stir our hearts to change despite the adversity we may face from others (or even in Maria's case, family too)。 I found this to be very much true for Maria in this volume。 She is such a sweet character, but due to the constant negativity she has had voiced to her, she's so fearful of doing the wrong thing, offending someone, or upsetting her mother。Yet that fear doesn't completely define who Maria is as I LOVED seeing her slowly grow a little bolder in this volume! She has a hidden "brass" to her as others have claimed and think she has a little more boldness then SHE even realizes, though thankfully Rintarou is helping in bringing that out。 (Speaking of, glad he is still his teasing self。 LOL!)I am really enjoying their blooming romance! I have especially enjoyed this mix dynamic of Western and Japanese culture that is influencing their conversations。 There is one conversation they had that was indeed very Western and was surprised to see it would be used as a turning point for Maria。 It was a good one though and it's where I felt myself get even more invested in this story。On a side note, I found I didn't absolutely LOATHE Maria's mother, which is good。 (Though she has a longggg way to go before she's in my "good graces。" A LONGGGGGG way to go。)I hope Maria continues to bloom and grow as a person and not just in this romance。 Seeing her bravery near the later part of the end made me want to get up off my couch and cheer for her! I could imagine I'll being doing a lot more of that based on the teaser we were shown for the upcoming volume!*(I received an ARC from the publisher。 All thoughts expressed are my own。)* 。。。more

I am continuing to love this series!!! It’s so good and the art is splendid。 Teehee! The Little Mermaid was my favorite movie as a kid! Golden Japanesque has tiny hints of that story within it。

The Georgia Book Belle

I bought this as soon as I could find it then consumed it rapidly。 So cute。
