Summary

Sebuah sekuel dari dinasti Jurassic Park。 Disisipi versi perluasan dari filmnya The Lost World : Jurassic Park, yang membuat saya merasa lega kala memberi pemakluman atas filmnya yang "tak seluas" bukunya。 Salah satu buku yang perlu dibaca setidaknya sekali dalam seumur hidup, terutama untuk anda yang secara gamblang menasbihkan diri sebagai "Jurassic Park Fanboy"。 Sebuah sekuel dari dinasti Jurassic Park。 Disisipi versi perluasan dari filmnya The Lost World : Jurassic Park, yang membuat saya merasa lega kala memberi pemakluman atas filmnya yang "tak seluas" bukunya。 Salah satu buku yang perlu dibaca setidaknya sekali dalam seumur hidup, terutama untuk anda yang secara gamblang menasbihkan diri sebagai "Jurassic Park Fanboy"。 。。。more

Overall 4。5 stars。 I quite enjoyed this one!!! I mean at one point Malcom long speeches got on my nerves but I got through them and actually one of them taught me a new info that I was glad to have understood。 The adventure was cool, The 1st book is better with the explanations of how the park was created and the perspective of the different workers, but this one was interesting too。 my fav character was Thorine, loved his love for students which was reflected on the kids (he actually cared abou Overall 4。5 stars。 I quite enjoyed this one!!! I mean at one point Malcom long speeches got on my nerves but I got through them and actually one of them taught me a new info that I was glad to have understood。 The adventure was cool, The 1st book is better with the explanations of how the park was created and the perspective of the different workers, but this one was interesting too。 my fav character was Thorine, loved his love for students which was reflected on the kids (he actually cared about about them more than Levine did)。 I liked how the author made Sarah so tough, it is very rare to see a woman taking the role (it is always a man who is able to handle the situation) but it made sense as it was the only one with experience in the wild life。 Eddie's death was so sad, I saw it coming since Thorine told him to come along with them but still it was devastating。 Levine is such a child, if I went to save someone and they annoyed me like that I would have hit them in the face, he is unbearable and a burden, and also a quitter ( can't believe he was giving up on Arby that easily)。 I loved the kids, Arby is such a sweetie, I love sweet kids, I kinda liked him more than Kelly felt she was a little mean to him, but she is lovely too, loved that she got to meet Sarah and have a good role model, I feel like her self confidence and esteem are way better and she will always remember her talks with Sarah so she will be even better in future, also loved how they made her the more calm one in bad situations and the one with smart ideas (this role is also usually given to the boys)。 I just didn't understand why the raptors were the only one affected by not seeing how older raptors were supposed to act thing (when he explained that zoo animals can't take care of their babies scene, which is btw the info I enjoyed learning), not only every other animal including predators like Tyrannosaurs were taking care of their nests and babies but also if I remember correctly raptors in the 1st book made a perfectly good nest with perfectly healthy juveniles, so why the only ones acting like that in here? I wished he explained it more。 Also why the herbivores were dying faster than the predators even though they were the ones eating the goat extract? and isn't the compys supposed to be already infected too before eating the feces since they supposedly ate the goat protein too? maybe not all the the goat extract was contaminated, ok fine, maybe they always released the compys to eat the feces there was not feeding phase for them, fine whatever, but still, shouldn't predators be dying too? maybe because they eat a lot of the dead herbivores they able to live longer and reproduce faster but still aren't they giving birth to infected babies too? and that doesn't answer the question why aren't they dying, again maybe not all the goat was infected so maybe animals like tyrannosaurs or carnotaurus aren't infected and were never bitten by raptors but shouldn't eating the infected herbivores get them sick too? I also wish he explained this more too。 I kinda always feel his endings are rushed like suddenly it is over, I always kinda want a little aftermath but still the story was quite enjoyable and chasing scenes always give me a rise in heartbeats!!! 。。。more

As a huge fan of the Jurassic Park movies I was very eager to read the original books。 This book falls flat of my expectations。 It has that overwhelming sense of Michael Crichton being pressured to create another book after the booming success of the first, but not really having any direction what-so-ever。The characterisation of Malcolm was honestly exhausting, and with not much happening for most of the book as well, it was hard for me to finish。 I wanted to enjoy this book, but at the end of t As a huge fan of the Jurassic Park movies I was very eager to read the original books。 This book falls flat of my expectations。 It has that overwhelming sense of Michael Crichton being pressured to create another book after the booming success of the first, but not really having any direction what-so-ever。The characterisation of Malcolm was honestly exhausting, and with not much happening for most of the book as well, it was hard for me to finish。 I wanted to enjoy this book, but at the end of the day I just couldn't。 。。。more

Actioned packed, but very heavy on the science。 Took a little while to get into the action, but there were some really fun scenes。 Sad there are no more stories, but enjoying all the new media。

The only reason I'm giving the book 3 stars is that the first half the book was quite engaging。 The plot showed promise。Beyond that, you can expect nothing more than cheap thrills, cliched storylines and extremely frustratingly handwaving science。 The only reason I'm giving the book 3 stars is that the first half the book was quite engaging。 The plot showed promise。Beyond that, you can expect nothing more than cheap thrills, cliched storylines and extremely frustratingly handwaving science。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 First off: 4。5, but no option for that so I’ll round it up to 5 stars。 tA lot of people seem to think that this book is really shallow and bad compared to the first one, and while I think it’s true that it’s not quite as good, it’s still a great book。 It’s both entertaining, thrilling, and makes you think on a deeper level all at the same time。 I’d say it starts off a little slow, but the opening is really good, and once they get onto the island, things really start to pick up fast。 A lot of peo First off: 4。5, but no option for that so I’ll round it up to 5 stars。 tA lot of people seem to think that this book is really shallow and bad compared to the first one, and while I think it’s true that it’s not quite as good, it’s still a great book。 It’s both entertaining, thrilling, and makes you think on a deeper level all at the same time。 I’d say it starts off a little slow, but the opening is really good, and once they get onto the island, things really start to pick up fast。 A lot of people also say that this book is scary, which I don’t really agree with。 I think “tense” or “nerve-wracking” describes it better, but there was never really a time when I felt scared while reading。 tThis book does have really good action, though, and it’s perfectly paced so that it never feels overwhelming。 Some of the descriptions of things are a bit grotesque and very descriptive, which adds to the tension and unease you sometimes feel while reading。 I would advise against reading some parts of this book if you are uncomfortable reading graphic descriptions of people being eaten。 The raptors do most of the killing, especially towards the end, and they’re a much bigger threat to the group than even the T-Rex。 tThe book does a great job of making you sit back and think a little bit about certain things, like how being connected via the internet stifles our innovation and creative ideas。 This book has quite a few of these paragraphs, and sometimes even full pages, of things like this。 I for one, wrote down some of my favorite sections from the book as I was reading, but I won’t list any of them here in detail because I think it’s worth reading the book to find out for yourself。 Crichton was definitely ahead of his time, and I think that some of the ideas he presents in this book could be very real problems that we may face in the future。 Overall, a very good, very fun book to read, one which I would recommend to everyone, especially fans of the original Jurassic Park, or of thrillers in general。 。。。more

An absolutely terrible book that gives me more appreciation for the movie (which isn’t great either)。 Ian Malcolm and his new friend spend 300 pages talking about extinction, and then a half-added climax full of dinosaur attacks happen。 You can tell Critchon had no heart in this one。

So this book was Rawrsome…👀 too much? The Lost World takes place a few years after the first novel when it’s suspected that the dinosaurs may still be around after all。 A couple of observations I’ve noticed is that one, Crichton definitely has a formula for these books but somehow it works。 Secondly, I thought there was a little more science chatter amongst the characters which I didn’t mind at all and found it interesting。 There are some brutal dinosaur scenes in this book that made me pause an So this book was Rawrsome…👀 too much? A good build from the original。 It was a bit confusing at times, but overall the story was interesting and it was nice to see the development。

This was a compelling story and it was interesting, but it is not nearly as good as the original Jurassic Park。

Ciekawa historia, dość dużo akcji。

Gripping, smart, and fun! Like Jurassic Park, this novel made a fantasy, a world with dinosaurs, come to life in the mind。 It was easy to fall for the main characters, apart from Levine, and wow Sarah Harding, the movie did not do you justice。

Not as strong as its predecessor, but still good in its own right, "The Lost World" is a fun sequel to the classic, "Jurassic Park"。 Created per the request of Steven Spielberg after the blockbuster hit that was the first film adaptation of this series, of which he changed many details。 This sequel is treated no different。 I was astounded by how different the film of the same name is from it source material, like super different。 The villain is different, the ending is different, the protagonist Not as strong as its predecessor, but still good in its own right, "The Lost World" is a fun sequel to the classic, "Jurassic Park"。 Created per the request of Steven Spielberg after the blockbuster hit that was the first film adaptation of this series, of which he changed many details。 This sequel is treated no different。 I was astounded by how different the film of the same name is from it source material, like super different。 The villain is different, the ending is different, the protagonists are different, the dinosaurs are different and interact with the main characters differently, and the ending is very different and finite (as if Crichton was saying, "THAT IS IT! THE DINOSAURS ARE NOT COMING BACK! PLEASE DO NOT MAKE ME WRITE ANOTHER!") As always, per Crichton's talented style, real science blends with the fictitious and is fascinating, also foreshadowing events in the book later on。 I never thought I would be so fascinated by how to best mend a baby T-Rex's bones。 All in all, not bad。 A solid, 4。0 stars from me。 。。。more

I really enjoyed this book, but I thought Jurassic Park was better。 Malcolm brought humor and the kids weren’t nearly as annoying and useless as in the first one, the action was fun but it didn’t feel as tense as the first one。 I wasn’t as concerned for all the characters as much as the first one either。 Still fun and a good read!
