So I didn’t make it very far is this version。 I was so confused and the flow was so bad I couldn’t make sense of any of it。 Decided to move on to a Bible in a year podcast which has been much better for me。 Also, appreciate that the podcast I’m listening too has explanation at the end of each reading to further clarify what has taken place。

The New King James version is one of my top three translations for reading and study, and I love Thomas Nelson Bibles。 So, I was excited to get my hands on the NKJV Spirit-Filled Life Bible。 I have Thomas Nelson Bibles。 So, I was excited to get my hands on the NKJV Spirit-Filled Life Bible。 I have the hard cover version。 It does not have page gilding or ribbons, but it does have a sewn binding。 This is the third edition of this Bible, and it is a full color edition。 The executive editor is Jack W。 Hayford, who is a Pentecostal minister, so this Bible does have a Pentecostal lean。 I am not Pentecostal myself, but I have not found anything in this Bible that has bothered me or gone against how I believe。 As with any study Bible, it is important to use discernment。The Spirit-Filled Life Bible is a double column lay out, with a 10 point font in the NKJV comfort print。 The font, in my opinion, appears more like a 9 point font, but it is bold and readable。 There are maps and charts throughout the Bible, along with a lot of verse by verse study notes。 It is a Bible that contains a wealth of study tools and resources, and it is easy to get lost in it for hours。 Each book has an introduction, that talks about the author, date, content, personal application, Christ revealed, and the Holy Spirit at work。 There is also an outline for each book。 I love that the introductions include information about how both Christ and the Holy Spirit are in every book of the Bible。 It helps the reader to see that the Bible is one story, and not just 66 individual books。 I have found other Bibles that talk about how Christ is in every book, but this is the first that I saw talk about the Holy Spirit in each book。 The Holy Spirit is often the least studied/understood part of the Trinity, so I am enjoying reading his role in every book。 That is one of my favorite things about this Bible。The Spirit-Filled Life Bible has a few different features that makes it unique。 The feature is "Kingdom Dynamics"。 These are short sections that include a scripture reference, a Kingdom Dynamic topic, and a commentary。 There are eight groups of themes that the Kingdom Dynamics are broken into: spiritual foundations, prayer power, personal growth, spiritual empowerment, spiritual unity, spiritual leadership, stewardship of life and resources, and supernatural ministry。 There are also in-depth articles at the back of the Bible that go along with the themes of these Kingdom Dynamics。 There is an index of the Kingdom Dynamics, broken down by theme, in the beginning of the Bible。 They are categorized by theme, and include the scripture reference that goes along with each。 The next feature that this Bible includes are Word Wealth。 Word Wealths highlight key words in the Bible, and include easy to understand definitions, the Strong's concordance number, English spellings of the Greek or Hebrew word, and an explanation to help you better understand the meaning of the word。 There are over 650 key words featured in the Word Wealth articles。 There is a Word Wealth Index in the front of the Bible that gives the word, the word in Hebrew or Greek, and the scripture reference where the word is found。 Praying the Word is another feature included in this Bible。 The sections give a simple 1-2 word sentence prayer that is adapted from a scripture on that particular page。 There is also an index for the Praying the Word sections at the front of the Bible。 This index gives a list of scripture references that are included in the Praying the Word sections。 Another feature included in this Bible is Truth in Action。 Truth in Action is presented in a chart at the end of the each book of the Bible, and these charts summarizes the teachings of each book and how to apply these themes or lessons。 As you are reading through this Bible, you will see numbers in the margin。 These numbers go along with the Truth in Action chart and the themes that are found there。 So when you see a number in the margin, you can go to the back of the book to read about the Truth in Action topic that goes with the scripture that you just read。 At the end of the Bible, there are seven articles: Holy Spirit Gifts and Power, The Key of Suffering: Unlocking God's Glory, Worship and Intercession: The Calling of All Believers, Aflame with Passion for World Evangelism, The Believer's Potential and Pathway for Ministering Healing to the Nations, Understanding Messianic Jewish Ministry, and How to Lead Someone to Jesus。 There is also 145 page concordance。 The Bible ends with seven full color maps。 I have been interested in picking up this Bible for a while, and I like it even more than I thought that I would。 My favorite features are the Truth in Action charts at the end of the each book, and how every book introduction includes where we will see the Holy Spirit in that particular book。 I would recommend picking up a copy of this Bible if you want to learn more about the Holy Spirit, enjoy word study, and want a study Bible that is packed full of information without being overwhelming。I received a copy of this Bible from Thomas Nelson, in return for an honest review。 All opinions are my own。 。。。more

Great to Complete Bible in a YearThis is my sixth year reading thru the Bible with this book but second time for eBook。 It really makes it effortless to read entire Bible in one year (15 minutes per morning)。 I will go back to KJV now as I am a bit cautious about anything from Thomas Nelson。 I keep finding the wicca symbol in some of their print material and having to toss it。 I'm quite confused by this。 My young daughters first pointed it out in their "Precious Moments" Bibles。 Great to Complete Bible in a YearThis is my sixth year reading thru the Bible with this book but second time for eBook。 It really makes it effortless to read entire Bible in one year (15 minutes per morning)。 I will go back to KJV now as I am a bit cautious about anything from Thomas Nelson。 I keep finding the wicca symbol in some of their print material and having to toss it。 I'm quite confused by this。 My young daughters first pointed it out in their "Precious Moments" Bibles。 。。。more

Reading the Bible this way was fascinating。 Each day reading OT, NT, a Psalm and Proverb showed me how intertwined God's word is。 Some days it was uncanny to see the themes that spoke to me。 That was God using the reading that day to tell me what I needed to hear。 Looking forward to reading the chronological One Year Bible in。 2021。 Reading the Bible this way was fascinating。 Each day reading OT, NT, a Psalm and Proverb showed me how intertwined God's word is。 Some days it was uncanny to see the themes that spoke to me。 That was God using the reading that day to tell me what I needed to hear。 Looking forward to reading the chronological One Year Bible in。 2021。 。。。more

Reading the Bible can be an overwhelming, large task。 Breaking it down into daily digestible chunks is a fantastic idea。 The One Year Bible gives a section of Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs each day。 I never spent over 20 - 25 minutes reading, but if you have more time to spend, double up and you can finish the Bible in 6 months。Here's a review I left for the normal Bible that also applies to this book:RECOMMEND: Dr。 Michael Heiser's YouTube channel and podcasts (FringePop 32 Reading the Bible can be an overwhelming, large task。 Breaking it down into daily digestible chunks is a fantastic idea。 The One Year Bible gives a section of Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs each day。 I never spent over 20 - 25 minutes reading, but if you have more time to spend, double up and you can finish the Bible in 6 months。Here's a review I left for the normal Bible that also applies to this book:RECOMMEND: Dr。 Michael Heiser's YouTube channel and podcasts (FringePop 321, Naked Bible, or just type his name in the YouTube search)。 Or, Chuck Missler's YouTube channel, Koinonia House。These men know Hebrew and Greek and can give an accurate look at the Bible。 They aren't afraid of controversy or contradictions and will face anything head on。Pastor Paul LeBoutillier at Calvary Chapel Ontario, Oregon is awesome too。I also found many resources on visualunit。me's website。I had a serious desire to see what the big deal was concerning the Bible, so I needed support and these are the best I found。[image error]- - - More - Info - For - Those - Who - Want - It: - - -Also helpful is knowing that there are people amongst us (8% - 12%) who actively worship the devil/satan。 They are not cute little Anton LeVey posers, they are the real deal。 Many, many children who were raised in satanism have come out alive and started the healing process from severe abuse that is 100% part of true satanism。 They are out there telling us their stories, if we choose to know。 Most all have a moment where Jesus came to them and gave them tremendous support, even taking away their physical pain during really hard times in satanic rituals。 Never Krishna。 Never Buddha。 Never Mohammad。 Never any Hindu god。 Always Jesus。 That's all the proof I needed to check out what the Bible has to say。The God of the Old Testament makes so。 much。 more。 sense。 Armed with the knowledge that satanism is real, I get why God's so grumpy all the time。 He's yelling at satanists in the OT - euphemistically called pagans。 When he yells about killing children, he's talking about the truly evil。Remember those ten year old kids, Robert Thompson and Jon Venables, from England who brutally killed toddler James Bulger in 1993? Venables admits to being a satanist。 He's still in and out of jail for possessing violent images of children。 People in the know recognize he was raised within a satanic family。 However it went down in the beginning, satan managed to insert a virus into God's creation - into us。 God sent down some software that serves as a way around the virus。 This antiviral software is called Jesus Christ。 Chose the antiviral software and you're no longer infected with the virus。 I'm not sure of the logistics, but there it is。The Bible continually mentions the prince of this world, satan, is the way of death。 God's way is life。 Here's my theory: satan's virus keeps us perpetually in the world of pain, suffering, depression, anxiety, self-loathing, anger, ignorance, and doubt。 Satan's system keeps the soul continually cycling through death。 Maybe that's reincarnation? (No true Christian would agree with that。) I'm not sure。 God's way out is eternal life = no more recycling through satan's death system。 Got Jesus? Then, you've got a way out and no more death cycle for you。 I made an audible demand of the universe a couple years ago that my next reincarnation would not be conducted on this planet。 I insisted I would only live my next life on a planet/dimension where people are truly kind and loving to each other。 Simultaneously, I wondered what made evil people exist? How can a toddler get beaten to death by two 10 year olds? How can someone walk into an elementary school and shoot children? A few months later, the information fell into my lap and here I am。 However that fits into your cognitive schemata, that's what happened to me。 I'm really tired of satan and his demons infecting every part of this world。 If reading the Bible and believing in Jesus is the way out, I'm in。 。。。more

How can you give the Word of God any less than five stars? I read it every day and plan to as long as I live! I highly recommend that if you only read one book in your life, it ought to be the Bible! Everyone should read it at least once。

I have read this Bible several times and I find it very useful because it is arranged in chronological order。 It is great to read the history of King David and then immediately read the Psalms he wrote about that part of his life。 When the editors are unsure about the exact date or the events in the Bible they are very forthcoming about it。 I recommend this Bible to anyone!

The "NKJV Spirit-Filled Life Bible" (Third Edition / Hardcover) is filled with a lot of supplemental material to read alongside the Scripture passages such as Word Wealth portions that give Strong's definitions and pronunciations of Hebrew and Greek words, Kingdom Dynamics sections that go deeper into what some portions of Scriptures mean, and Praying the Word portions that suggest prayers related to the Scriptures they are near (and list which Scriptures they are adapted from)。 There is also ot The "NKJV Spirit-Filled Life Bible" (Third Edition / Hardcover) is filled with a lot of supplemental material to read alongside the Scripture passages such as Word Wealth portions that give Strong's definitions and pronunciations of Hebrew and Greek words, Kingdom Dynamics sections that go deeper into what some portions of Scriptures mean, and Praying the Word portions that suggest prayers related to the Scriptures they are near (and list which Scriptures they are adapted from)。 There is also other Scriptures that I think are related to the Scripture passages they are beside and notes at the bottom of the pages which are considered commentary to me to help people better understand what those passages mean。The index is listed a little after the opening pages, it is after the Introduction, description of features in this Bible, Word Wealth and Praying the Word Indexes。 There is background information before the Bible books that give information about the books, such as the authors, dates, themes, key words, and in-depth summaries for the Bible books。 Some of Bible books end with a Truth in Action section which teach the truths (what it teaches), and actions (what it invites) with Scriptures to support those truths and actions。Pages after the Bible books (by different contributors) include different articles。 It was interesting to see that there is an article on how to lead someone to Jesus (Yeshua), and Messianic Jewish ministry。 There is also a Concordance and maps at the end。I read through the book of Job while reviewing this Bible and picked up some new things I don't remember picking up in the past, such as many people that were close to Job before he went through many losses were kind of non-supportive and scorned him (Job 16:20)。 He also wasn't relieved from pain by speaking or remaining silent (Job 16:6), which I found comforting because I have had the same problems sometimes。I also read through the book of Jude and learned that Michael the archangel rebuked Satan about something involving the body of Moses in verse 9 of Jude。 I never remember learning about anything being called Moses' body before in the Bible so that was interesting for me to learn。I liked how this specialty Bible used Strong's definitions in the Word Wealth portions given throughout the Bible。 One thing I wish it listed there with each portion was what language the word being defined is (Hebrew or Greek), although I've learned enough Hebrew to recognize a Hebrew word versus other languages, but I was thinking about other people who might wonder what language the words from the Word Wealth portions are from and might not be able to guess whether it's Hebrew or Greek。I was interested in reviewing this Bible because I've connected with some of Jack W。 Hayford's spiritual work in the past。 I spent about 30 days reading through it (that's the timeframe I'm allowed), and there are many sections I didn't get to because the material is so deep to me。 I think most people that use this specialty Bible will probably be happy with the amount of supplemental material it contains to help them to better understand what the Scriptures mean。My review= 4。5 out of 5 starsDisclosure of Material Connection: I received this Bible free from the publisher。 I was not required to write a positive review。 The opinions I have expressed are my own。 。。。more
