I liked getting more insight into Kuvira's past with the Beifong's, but otherwise did not feel there was anything special about this book。 I liked getting more insight into Kuvira's past with the Beifong's, but otherwise did not feel there was anything special about this book。 。。。more

This book was very captivating it made me want to keep on reading and reading。 Every book ended with a cliffhanger。 The romance was again very cute though less than Turf Wars wich isn't necessarily a bad thing。I would recommend this series! Kuvira has got to be one of the most charismatic villains I’ve known。 I never really hated her in the show, but I also never understood her character as much as I do now。 I believe in second chances and seeing her own up to her mistakes was really big。 “I just hope that by taking full responsibility for what I’ve done, I can begin to heal some of the pain I’ve caused。” ~“I’m going。 。 。 home?””Yes。”🥲💓We love a good redemption story。

4 stars。 the ending was a bit rushed, but i enjoyed this, and seeing more development of kuvira。 i wish that there were more scenes of the krew but i get that it wasn’t really centered around them。

Good ending to the trilogy!

I’m sad to see Kuvira go but I think this trilogy was a nice little story and flowed well from the television show。 I like how her parents aren’t dead and I’m curious to find what happened to them in the end and I’m also happy with the slightly faster pacing the comics allow for as well as Kuvira seriously redeeming herself。 Bataar Jr was my least favourite character, even more so that Kuvira, and I’d have like to see more of him trying (and failing lol) to reconcile with his siblings, but what I’m sad to see Kuvira go but I think this trilogy was a nice little story and flowed well from the television show。 I like how her parents aren’t dead and I’m curious to find what happened to them in the end and I’m also happy with the slightly faster pacing the comics allow for as well as Kuvira seriously redeeming herself。 Bataar Jr was my least favourite character, even more so that Kuvira, and I’d have like to see more of him trying (and failing lol) to reconcile with his siblings, but what we got of his was good enough。 Might check out some of the other comics since LOK has consistently been a big favourite of mine。 。。。more

If you want more of The Legend of Korra this is your series you might want to read Turf Wars first though。 It will contain major SPOILERS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

(view spoiler)[Kuvira redemption arc。 (hide spoiler)] That's all I needed to know。 I do like this trilogy more than the first one and now I think I really, really need to get back to my rewatch of the show。 (I only made like the first four episodes for a third time, because, really, Mako and Bolin are。。。meh。 I'm here for the girls。)This trilogy also has some Korrasami angst and Beifong family feels。 。。。 And King Wu。 Do not forget Wu。 (view spoiler)[But, honestly, Kuvira。 (hide spoiler)] (view spoiler)[Kuvira redemption arc。 (hide spoiler)] That's all I needed to know。 I do like this trilogy more than the first one and now I think I really, really need to get back to my rewatch of the show。 (I only made like the first four episodes for a third time, because, really, Mako and Bolin are。。。meh。 I'm here for the girls。)This trilogy also has some Korrasami angst and Beifong family feels。 。。。 And King Wu。 Do not forget Wu。 (view spoiler)[But, honestly, Kuvira。 (hide spoiler)] 。。。more

I enjoyed Kuvira’s transformation, but I’m not a huge fan of the plot that got her there。 It felt hockey and easy in terms of the morality being so stark and without as much nuance as I’ve enjoyed from the Korra villains and villain plots from the show。 So far I’m not a huge fan of Korea’s comics。

Unrated out 5 stars。 A great conclusion to the arc! The conclusion of Kuvira’s development was great, the changes she’s undergone in three short comic books do a great job at concluding her story。 It’s likewise great to see the other characters around her be allowed closure, even if it felt a bit too clean。 While nice, the ending did feel somewhat cliche in parts。 That’s not to say I didn’t like the story or the way it resolved the conflicts, I loved how the physical conflict of the Earth Empire Unrated out 5 stars。 A great conclusion to the arc! *4。5Well, that was very good。And my Mako/Wu ship is set in stone now, so that's great。I feel like, after all that Kuvira did, this series is working really overtime to redeem her, but she's not an uninteresting character to follow。 (view spoiler)[I just wish we had some more closure on that Kuvira/Bataar plotline, especially now。 (hide spoiler)]I just feel like, as did the ATLA comics, these comics always tend to focus overtime on the romances and not the friendships。 It's honestly pretty annoyi *4。5Well, that was very good。And my Mako/Wu ship is set in stone now, so that's great。I feel like, after all that Kuvira did, this series is working really overtime to redeem her, but she's not an uninteresting character to follow。 (view spoiler)[I just wish we had some more closure on that Kuvira/Bataar plotline, especially now。 (hide spoiler)]I just feel like, as did the ATLA comics, these comics always tend to focus overtime on the romances and not the friendships。 It's honestly pretty annoying, but it hurts to say that I don't care about the LoK team as much as the Gaang so I didn't care so much about the absence of character moments。I did enjoy this series, though, more so than the first one。 Apparently another trilogy is confirmed, so I'm looking forward to that。 4。5/5 stars。 。。。more

this arc is the stuff that made us fall in love with these tales from The Four Nations in the first place - making choices, facing the consequences, feeling the repercussions long afterward and how we and those around us are changed by them。 But more importantly, what to do when the opportunity to make new choices arises - have we learned from the past to make a wiser decision now? Great stuff。

Just finished binge-reading all 3 parts of Ruins of the Empire。 Nice ending to this story。 I hope we get to see more adventures with Korra and friends。 :D <3

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 (Read all 3 parts)I have some strong opinions about Kuvira's arc。 *Spoilers*I really think she should have stayed in Prison。 Even with her assistance with Guan I personally don't think that was enough to redeem her。 Yes, she's under house arrestBUT SHE LITERALLY MURMURED OR ASSISTED IN THE MURDER OF PEOPLE。 Not to mention all of her other atrocious crimes。 Also not a fan of how they coerced Toph into running for governor。 Like。。。 what?! This is a review for Ruins of the Empire as a whole, although I will be touching on all three parts。 While the first part is slow in its setup, the majority of this story is engaging and a good continuation of the show。 If you're going in hoping for a lot of great Team Avatar moments, you're not going to get that。 While Korra herself has a few good moments, at times her dialogue feels a little wooden。 The most interesting parts come from the political situation in the Earth Kingdom and from Kuvi This is a review for Ruins of the Empire as a whole, although I will be touching on all three parts。 While the first part is slow in its setup, the majority of this story is engaging and a good continuation of the show。 If you're going in hoping for a lot of great Team Avatar moments, you're not going to get that。 While Korra herself has a few good moments, at times her dialogue feels a little wooden。 The most interesting parts come from the political situation in the Earth Kingdom and from Kuvira herself。 If you liked Kuvira as a character and/or thought she had potential for further stories, you'll get more or less what you wanted。 I would've liked some of her flashbacks to have been a little more insightful, but they played their part。 If you didn't like her character in the show, I'm a little uncertain this installment will win you over。 There are a few memorable sequences, and Michelle Wong and Vivian Ng have an art style that fits with the show, though I find myself missing Gurihiru's work from the Last Airbender graphic novels。 The ending, as other reviews have touched on, is a bit rushed, but it by no means ruins the story。 Check the story out all at once instead of in parts, and if you go in with reasonable expectations, I think it'll be worth your while。 。。。more

I flew through this second set of Korra comics。 I like this one better than Turf Wars, and I love the cameos of characters such as Wu and Varrick。 Also, I love the way this final installation portrays Kuvira, with flashbacks contextualizing her actions in the show。 I was not expecting to like her character so much, and the art is beautiful, as always!

Redemption for Kuvira。 Nice。

I loved this series。 I’m glad about Kuvira’s growth and I’m glad we got to see more of a back story in her life。 I really like how they didn’t ignore what they did。 They talked about it and took responsibility for their actions。 Kuvira & Bataar Jr。 reunionish was written amazingly。 Nothing was sugarcoated and they had a real conversation。

*5 stars for Ruins of the Empire as a whole*I absolutely loved this series! This felt like the logical follow-up to TLOK and honestly might be my favorite part of the TLOK canon other than Season 3。 I hope they make more graphic novel series for Korra!
