Oh how i loved this book for this moment。 Although the premise is a mother watching her children from heaven， it still feels like a cozy hug。 Trigger Warnings: discusses death of a parent and suicide of a parent。

I did like the comforting idea that someone could pass on and still be able to watch， guide their family。Many POV and it works in this story as so many people knew Vivian and were part of their lives。The mystery of who hit Vivian is solved。I have read many Elin Hilderbrand books and this is not my favorite。 I did like it better than 28 Summers。 28 Summers also has infidelity as a theme。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 Great summer read！ Feels like a classic Elin Hildebrand book with lots of twists and turns and great descriptions of Nantucket。 It’s a little bit of an odd premise with it being a fantastical story about a woman observing from the afterlife， but it ultimately worked to tell the story。 It was meta that the main character was based on her （and she talks about how everyone on the island adores her）， but I’d still recommend as a beach read。

Golden Girl was different from Hilderbrand’s other books。 The main character in the story， Vivi， is hit by a car and killed within the first few pages。 She is granted the summer to watch how things play out after her death and given three nudges in order to change the outcome of events on Earth。 You don’t find out who killed Vivi until the very end。 I like that Hilderbrand added a bit of mystery to this one。 It was an enjoyable easy read （as always）。
