Wow， this book was so good！ The setting is really original — a modern Asian-inspired city — and it reads like a crime/mafia novel more so than a fantasy one。 There could’ve been a bit more worldbuilding involving the specifics of jade， but nevertheless， the strong characters make up for this absence。 This is the kind of urban fantasy I’d like to see。 It takes aspects from both Eastern and Western media， and combines them into something entirely new。
