Admittedly, this book gives me a considerable makeover that helps transform the way how i plan my daily routine and how willing i am to obey to such tasks on the to-do-list。 I gradually become aware that even mini/ atomic habits can lead to radical changes in my life。 There are some of those that I have done on a regular basis without any reminders from my dear mom lmao: • Sleep and wake up early• Have a 20-min nap each day (I still struggle with this tho)• Grab a glass of water right after waki Admittedly, this book gives me a considerable makeover that helps transform the way how i plan my daily routine and how willing i am to obey to such tasks on the to-do-list。 I gradually become aware that even mini/ atomic habits can lead to radical changes in my life。 There are some of those that I have done on a regular basis without any reminders from my dear mom lmao: • Sleep and wake up early• Have a 20-min nap each day (I still struggle with this tho)• Grab a glass of water right after waking up• Avoid sedentry lifestyle (Move around at least 15' after sitting for like an hour)• Read 30min per day• Play games which boost mental agility (if possible, play with friends, i know it's like super-fun)• Contact your besties • Consume less sugar• Apply eye drops 2x /day• Smile at least 10x / dayIn short, I love how this book has changed me in a positive way。 ❤️❤️❤️The only thing which get on my nerves sometimes is that author kept repeating only one single point a lot of times here and there in the book。 I think this book could be shorter and more compact。 Anyways, it's not a big deal。 。。。more

One of my favorite books of all time。 Very helpful with anybodys everyday life! It's also to the point which I appreciate! You can't erase 10 years of unhealthy habits with a 30 day cold turkey solution。 Slowly implementing ridiculously realistic and small changes into your routine is key to making changes last forever and turning them into a lifestyle。 Scarcity of anything will primally cause you to desire things more, slow cut backs and slow implementations of good habits will make for lasting One of my favorite books of all time。 Very helpful with anybodys everyday life! An interesting approach to forming habits by going 'stupid small'。 However, I feel the concept could have been condensed and easily presented in lesser words; after some time the idea becomes repetitive and the book becomes boring to read。 An interesting approach to forming habits by going 'stupid small'。 However, I feel the concept could have been condensed and easily presented in lesser words; after some time the idea becomes repetitive and the book becomes boring to read。 。。。more

The core idea of this book is good, that we start with a very very small things that we cannot beat up and gradually increase our confidence to build bigger habits。However, the way the author wrote and the translation is not smooth。 It's sometimes makes me confused and disrupted。 The core idea of this book is good, that we start with a very very small things that we cannot beat up and gradually increase our confidence to build bigger habits。However, the way the author wrote and the translation is not smooth。 It's sometimes makes me confused and disrupted。 。。。more

A predictable book。 Creating behavioural change through mini habits is a great idea。 It is also a great idea that has been the foundation for plenty of books。This is a clear, short anfd well written book。 It is predictable。 But maybe that is the point of mini habits。。。

Start small, count every single baby-step, with consistency。 You will see the change。

Love the book, too repetitive。

Contrary a lot to the advice out there, change is simpler than we think。 It often starts with just a small adjustments。 As opposed to for instance, aiming to go to the gym 3x per week: why not start with once per week? The essential premise behind this book is that, when it comes to your daily habits, by aiming for small things: you can end up being more consistent。 For instance, if it’s your habit to write 1000 words per day, your Mini Habit would be to write 100W per day- and anyone can do tha Contrary a lot to the advice out there, change is simpler than we think。 It often starts with just a small adjustments。 As opposed to for instance, aiming to go to the gym 3x per week: why not start with once per week? The essential premise behind this book is that, when it comes to your daily habits, by aiming for small things: you can end up being more consistent。 For instance, if it’s your habit to write 1000 words per day, your Mini Habit would be to write 100W per day- and anyone can do that。The trick is that once you do 100W, you’ll be motivated to do more。 Often it’s the big habits and goals that prevent us from actually achieving anything。 You can make a huge change in every area of your life, by just focusing on one small habit in each area。 Other similar go to books are: The Power of Habit, Slight Edge, and the Compound Effect by Darren Hardy。 。。。more

Almost end。。。 but DNF (Do not finish)This book does not spark joy for me。 I've diverted to read other books。 Came back and read about it again, it didn't able to get my attention。 Maybe I'm already a well discipline person, this book doesn't speak louder to my face。 It's mostly common sense to me。 Almost end。。。 but DNF (Do not finish)This book does not spark joy for me。 I've diverted to read other books。 Came back and read about it again, it didn't able to get my attention。 Maybe I'm already a well discipline person, this book doesn't speak louder to my face。 It's mostly common sense to me。 。。。more

Step by step。。。A pleasant read, well written and definitely worth the time to read。 It’s main message is quite palatable and was for me, an encouraging look at what may be possible in my own life。 Following the authors advice is so obvious that I’m a little embarrassed that it took me so long to come around to what should have always been the way of creating habits。 A fine edition to my self help library。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This is a terrific, easy to read and use book that is working for me。 My book notes are below:Mini Habits by Stephen Guise(Visit minihabits。com for mini habit ideas)-Mini habits leads to bigger results -The journey of 1000 miles begins with 1 step-New Years resolutions only have about an 8% success rate-Mini habits are for good habits only, adding positive behaviors to your life to enrich it for years-You should absolutely use small steps in daily life -Habits are the framework of your life -Hab This is a terrific, easy to read and use book that is working for me。 My book notes are below:Mini Habits by Stephen Guise(Visit minihabits。com for mini habit ideas)-Mini habits leads to bigger results -The journey of 1000 miles begins with 1 step-New Years resolutions only have about an 8% success rate-Mini habits are for good habits only, adding positive behaviors to your life to enrich it for years-You should absolutely use small steps in daily life -Habits are the framework of your life -Habits are molded over time by repetition -Repetition is the language of the subconscious brain-Unlike motivation-based techniques,  willpower is extremely reliable -Willpower will improve your ability to take action despite feelings of resistance due to emotional trauma,  lack of confidence,  bad moods,  or low energy levels。 -5 Main Causes of Willpower Depletion Effort - Mini habits require very little effort, which reduces the chances of burnout。 Very little depletion。 Perceived Difficulty - Mini habits have almost zero perceived difficulty。   Setting mini goals is the best way to drop the  perceived difficulties in any project。  Perceived difficulties with mini habits result in very little willpower depletion。  Negative Affect  - This means the experience of unpleasant feelings。  There's typically no negative affects with mini habits。  You will be replacing time wasting behaviors with beneficial ones, which induces a positive feeling。 Subjective Fatigue - This means to have an overwhelming sense of exhaustion。  Mini habits come with a minimal amount of subjective fatigue。  The mind "looks ahead" to the upcoming work and perhaps feels the impact early。  Mini habits mitigate subjective fatigue very well。 Blood Glucose Levels - Glucose is your prime energy source。  Blood sugar levels are determined by genetics, diet, and lifestyle。  -Mini Habits help expand your comfort zone。 Mini habits are like taking one small step outside of your comfort zone。 You're in less comfortable territory here, but not by much because you know that taking one step back will put you back in your comfort circle (zone)。 But when you continue to take these small steps outside of your comfort circle, your subconscious will become comfortable with it and your circle will expand。 This expansion can permanently change your boundaries,  and this is the magic bullet of mini habits。 *This serves as the best possible foundation for further steps and personal growth in that area。*-Once you take that first step,  you are officially in motion *One small step + desired behavior = high probability of further steps -Spring massive changes onto your brain and it will run back to its comfortable routines。  But introduce changes to it gently and in small doses,  and it just might be curious to want to explore more。-Smart willpower management is the key to personal development as smart money management is the key to financial success。 -Self-efficacy is belief in your ability to influence an outcome。 Self-efficacy helps us achieve goals and create habits。  -Mini habits are a self-efficacy generating machine, and importantly, you can get started successfully with zero efficacy。  -A primary benefit of doing mini habits is being able to do them, no matter how you feel。  Because the requirement is so small, there is no excuse to skip them。-Mini habits are perfectly suited for any mood or situation。  You can be happy and motivated,  tired and depressed,  or sick, and still be able to complete your mini habits and possibly more。-Mini habits expose you to your doubts and fears in a way that that feels safe and empowering。  (You'll see that exercise isn't so hard,  you'll start reading more books, you'll start doing more house chores, etc。)  Whatever you've been wanting to do will become possible。 8 SMALL STEPS TO BIG CHANGEChoose your mini habits & habit plan-Your list of mini habits should take no more than 10 minutes to complete daily。Use the why drill on each mini habit-Identifying why you want these habits。Define your habit cues。 (When to perform them)-3 types of mini habits: 1) Time based cues (done at specific times), 2) activity based cues (done after lunch, before work, while driving, etc。 3) general mini habit cues (done once per day)-The goal of mini habits is to empower you to have constant success。 -Success ignites passion and action。  This is what mini habits will do。  You will feel successful and will want to succeed more and more。 -Mini habits are too small to fail, even without a cue。 -People have 2 state of minds when making decisions。  First we weigh our options aka deliberative mindset。 Second we commit to it aka implemental mindset。 The goal is to move to the implemental mindset instead of getting stuck in the deliberative mindset frame of mind。 -If you ever find yourself stalling, remind yourself how small your task is。Create Your Reward Plan-Pertaining to exercise,  the release of endorphins, feeling great, and being healthy can be viewed as rewards。 -Rewards appear to restore willpowerWrite Everything Down -Writing something down instantly elevates it above all your other thoughts。 *You've got to handwrite it to amplify it!*-For tracking mini habits use calendars,  dry erase boards,  digital tracking, computers。For Android (free) download Habitbull or Loop。Think Small-Willpower can be strengthened。 -Very disciplined people are those who have strengthened their willpower。 We want to do 3 things on the way to a habit:Strengthen our willpowerMake progress in the present momentNot exhaust our willpower **If you can meet the small requirement,  it will still become a habit。  Once it is a habit, you're in perfect position to build upon it。 The perfect foundation for doing more of something is having an existing habit of that behaviour。        7) Meet Your Schedule and Drop High Expectations        8) Watch For Signs of Habit, But Be Careful Not To Jump The Gun Signs that it's a habit:No Resistance; it feels easier to do the behaviour than not to do it Identity: You now identify with the behaviour and you're comfortable saying, "I read books", "I do sit ups"Mindless Action: You'll engage in the action without making an executive decision。  Eg。 Ok I've decided to go to the gym。  You just gather your things and go!You Don't Worry About It: at first, you might worry about missing a day here or there, but once it's a habit, you know that you'll be doing it unless there's an emergencyNormalization: Habits are non-emotional。 When the behaviour makes its transition to normalcy,  it's habit。It's Can Be Boring: Good habits are  not exciting。  They're just good for you。  *If you want to do more than what is required (10 situps vs 5) that's ok, but don't change your requirement。  8 MINI HABIT RULES Never Ever CheatBe Happy With All Progress-Mini habits are a pretty simple brain trick at the core,  but also a life philosophy that values starting,  letting action precede motivation,  and believing that small steps can accumulate into giant steps forward。 Reward Yourself Often, Especially After a Mini Habit Stay Level-headed -Aim for a calm mindset and trust in the process。If You Feel Strong Resistance,  Back Off and Go Smaller Remind Yourself How Easy This Is -Your mini requirement becomes a recurring spark inside of you that will refuse to die out。 That is inspiring。Never Think A Step Is Too Small-Taking small steps keeps you in control over your brain。Put Extra Energy and Ambition Toward Bonus Reps, Not a Bigger Requirement -Be the person with embarrassing goals and impressive results instead of one of the many people with impressive goals and embarrassing results。   。。。more
