Read because we are going to be reading this in World Geography this year。 Powerful read。 Loved the dual timelines as we see the true story of the Lost Boys of Sudan and their journey and connect it with the ongoing battle for clean water in third world countries STILL today。 Cannot wait to share this with my kids！

This book is both so interesting and emotional at the same time。 People in Sudan are struggling and water is not the only issue。 It involves war and the struggle for education and finding your family。 Many miles are walked and many years pass as these young kids live their lives not knowing if their families are gone or hidden in the bush or somewhere else。 This book is so easy to read and I get lost in it。 It is so insightful and so you’d joule really read this fantastic book。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 Loved this book。 I dint consider myself a fast reader but I started it around 3pm and finished that same night。 So this is seriously one of those books you just can’t put down。 The whole book is great and at every point I felt satisfied。 Yet toward the end the excitement ramps up and the ending where both stories intersect was perfect perfect perfect。

I enjoyed this read！ It was a short， yet meaningful read。 It is a middle grade level book so don't go into it expecting anything extraordinary， but I did enjoy the clear and concise writing。 It was a nice break from what I am reading now。 I really enjoyed Salva's perspective and I thought Nya's section was not as strong as his。 The reason why I did not rate this book higher is because I felt like everything was tied up too neatly in the end。 I know the ending was supposed to be hopeful and I tot I enjoyed this read！ It was a short， yet meaningful read。 It is a middle grade level book so don't go into it expecting anything extraordinary， but I did enjoy the clear and concise writing。 It was a nice break from what I am reading now。 I really enjoyed Salva's perspective and I thought Nya's section was not as strong as his。 The reason why I did not rate this book higher is because I felt like everything was tied up too neatly in the end。 I know the ending was supposed to be hopeful and I totally think it would please a lot of readers， but I found myself not liking how everything wrapped up。 Overall， I would say to give this read a try if you are interested in historical books with vibrant characters。 The plot line itself was not TOO exciting， but I still enjoyed this quick read。 。。。more

I feel like this book is one I would have preferred to read rather than listen to。 The narration was a bit cheesy with music and a separate narrator for Salva’s thoughts。 I liked that it was based on a true story and learned a lot about the Lost Boys of Sudan and the atrocities they experienced。 I loved the way it ended and connected the stories of Salva and Nya。
