I want to start off saying I got this book by mistake at my local Barnes and Noble。 I grabbed it for a mighty $10。99… which for the price first of all， is crazy。 The two stories were barley 190 pages together。 Along with a family tree and all， if you are very devoted to the selection， then yes I guess it’s okay。 But， on a mistake， no。The Prince;I didn’t know we would get their different point of views， and this short story was decent。 I always wondered how Maxon would seem for America。 But， I ex I want to start off saying I got this book by mistake at my local Barnes and Noble。 I grabbed it for a mighty $10。99… which for the price first of all， is crazy。 The two stories were barley 190 pages together。 Along with a family tree and all， if you are very devoted to the selection， then yes I guess it’s okay。 But， on a mistake， no。The Prince;I didn’t know we would get their different point of views， and this short story was decent。 I always wondered how Maxon would seem for America。 But， I expressed before that he， to me， is sort of a lost wondering man not knowing what to do all the time。 He is literally 19， and seems to have more problems with his love life， than his duties。 I don’t know， he’s just a very plain character。 The Guard;I read people’s reviews on this already， and many seem to hate Aspen; calling him many names。 My unpopular opinion is that this man is loving。 He just needs to MOVE ON and go for another person。 This man is too perfectly in love that he is whispering and keeping in his head that America still loves him。 Like a good smack in the head should do some good for him。 But， he is just pure。 He is taking care of his family that is still on the brink of laying on the streets。 He sends money to people that aren’t even his own family。 Like with another character I am not going to name， he would be just so much happier。 He is too worried for America。 Overall， I did enjoy these short story’s， it’s great and refreshing to see one glimpse from both of the boys。 Also， isn’t this getting turned into a show ？！！ Eeeek， I’m excited ！！！ <333 。。。more

I thought this was a really nice addition to the selection series。 There’s not a lot of books from the boys perspective and this was the perfect little sneak peak into Macon and Aspens minds。 It really shows that Maxon had so many internal struggles and fears and worries， that just weren’t shown all too well from America’s point fo view。 And don’t even get me started about Aspen。 He clearly had no idea what really was going on with Maxon and America。 He failed to realize how close they had gotte I thought this was a really nice addition to the selection series。 There’s not a lot of books from the boys perspective and this was the perfect little sneak peak into Macon and Aspens minds。 It really shows that Maxon had so many internal struggles and fears and worries， that just weren’t shown all too well from America’s point fo view。 And don’t even get me started about Aspen。 He clearly had no idea what really was going on with Maxon and America。 He failed to realize how close they had gotten and how in love they were， he was too blind trying to fix and rekindle something HE MESSED UP。 But I mean I don’t hate him， I just don’t have sympathy for him because he’s the one who told her to go into the selection in the first place。 Overall， this was a nice way to bring back memories from when I read this incredible series in middle school。 Loved the extras at the end too！ 。。。more

4。5 stars* The Prince- 4/5 stars。 I liked Maxon’s novella， it was a short and sweet read。 Wasn’t as captivating though since it was already stuff you mostly read in the main three booksThe Guard- 5/5 stars。 I’m surprised I liked this so much since I don’t like Aspen。 I really loved the novella though， It was really interesting and revealed things you otherwise didn’t get to know。 I also loved the inclusion of America’s maids。
