Summary

In this moving story two teens fall in love with just one minor complication—they can’t get within five feet of each other without risking their lives。

Can you love someone you can never touch?

Stella Grant likes to be in control—even though her totally out of control lungs have sent her in and out of the hospital most of her life。 At this point, what Stella needs to control most is keeping herself away from anyone or anything that might pass along an infection and jeopardize the possibility of a lung transplant。 Six feet apart。 No exceptions。

The only thing Will Newman wants to be in control of is getting out of this hospital。 He couldn’t care less about his treatments, or a fancy new clinical drug trial。 Soon, he’ll turn eighteen and then he’ll be able to unplug all these machines and actually go see the world, not just its hospitals。

Will’s exactly what Stella needs to stay away from。 If he so much as breathes on Stella she could lose her spot on the transplant list。 Either one of them could die。 The only way to stay alive is to stay apart。 But suddenly six feet doesn’t feel like safety。 It feels like punishment。

What if they could steal back just a little bit of the space their broken lungs have stolen from them? Would five feet apart really be so dangerous if it stops their hearts from breaking too?

Ha sido una lectura bonita y rapida, lo recomiendo sobre todo si necesitas salir de un bloqueo。

I watched the movie and bought the book a year after that。 I obviously already knew the ending so it wasn’t much exiting as it would’ve been before。 I never fully finished the whole book and I’m currently re-reading, not that that’s going well。 Also I have no clue when I started and I just never finished the book。 Stella is so stupid if she would’ve gone back and got her new lungs she and him could’ve finally stepped close to eachother。 He instead had to give up his life for her SMH。

It’s a cute book to spare time, easy to read and a lovely sad story I heard the CF community didn’t like this book as much, because it doesn’t relate as much But I liked it for a quick read I

I own this book。 I found this book in a charity shop and after enjoying Rachael Lippincott and Mikki Daughtery's other book, All This Time, I decided to pick it up。 This book is laid out similarly to the other, with split perspectives, this time following two cystic fibrosis patients who fall in love and yet can never touch。 I work in a place that deals with CF and yet, it is an illness I know very little about。 I found this to be a really interesting perspective to read a YA book from, how do I own this book。 I found this book in a charity shop and after enjoying Rachael Lippincott and Mikki Daughtery's other book, All This Time, I decided to pick it up。 This book is laid out similarly to the other, with split perspectives, this time following two cystic fibrosis patients who fall in love and yet can never touch。 I work in a place that deals with CF and yet, it is an illness I know very little about。 I found this to be a really interesting perspective to read a YA book from, how do you write a love story when they aren't allowed to meet physically? This book achieves it。 Will has a bacterial complication that means if he even coughs near Stella, she could die。 I did really enjoy this book。 It was easy to read, if not a little insta-lovey, but I found I flew through reading this book。 。。。more

3/5 starsThis was a decently enjoyable book, one I picked up on a whim to have on in the background。 The story and its characters were well fleshed out and entertaining to follow, but I didn't find myself getting as emotionally invested in their lives as I have for other YA-insta-love stories。 (view spoiler)[(Although, I will say Poe's death killed me a bit inside。) (hide spoiler)] I also want to mention that for a book published in 2018, it did feel weirdly relevant to the pandemic lifestyle, n 3/5 starsThis was a decently enjoyable book, one I picked up on a whim to have on in the background。 The story and its characters were well fleshed out and entertaining to follow, but I didn't find myself getting as emotionally invested in their lives as I have for other YA-insta-love stories。 (view spoiler)[(Although, I will say Poe's death killed me a bit inside。) (hide spoiler)] I also want to mention that for a book published in 2018, it did feel weirdly relevant to the pandemic lifestyle, not only through its smaller details (i。e。 the main characters having to wear masks, stay six feet apart, etc。) but also its larger themes of isolation and what their illness has taken away from them。 Maybe I would have enjoyed this book a bit more if I read it in a pre-pandemic time, but having read this in 2021, I couldn't bring myself to empathize with characters who disregarded important medical advice because they were "in love。" 。。。more

Very light read。 The content itself is a little heavy, and certainly pull on your heartstrings。 It was very easy to become attached to the characters and their struggles, which kept me barrelling through the story page after page。 The ending left more to be desired, in my opinion。

I literally cried so much reading this。 I found this book a few years ago but never had the time to read it and then forgot about it。 Today as I was cleaning my bookshelf I saw it again and remembered that it got a movie。 Wrote it all in one day and literally it was so amazing。 To anyone who wanna read this: do it。 It’s worth it。 Their relationship builds from 0 to 100 so fast that you can’t see it, but that’s really the only thing I don’t like。 I can’t tell you anything about if it’s true or no I literally cried so much reading this。 I found this book a few years ago but never had the time to read it and then forgot about it。 Today as I was cleaning my bookshelf I saw it again and remembered that it got a movie。 Wrote it all in one day and literally it was so amazing。 To anyone who wanna read this: do it。 It’s worth it。 Their relationship builds from 0 to 100 so fast that you can’t see it, but that’s really the only thing I don’t like。 I can’t tell you anything about if it’s true or not because i’m not a medicine, but the infect is portrayed good in my opinion。 Over all a really good book (: 。。。more

I love this book。 It's my comfort book。 I love the changing perspectives, the danger in it, the ending, and above all, the love。 How love changes people。 I remember reading the part where they fall in love and being in tears because of how beautifully it was shown。 It's sad and true and heartbreaking and amazing。 It's a rollercoaster of emotions and I love that all of this happened in a hospital and no one knew。 It was their own little love story。 I love this book。 It's my comfort book。 I love the changing perspectives, the danger in it, the ending, and above all, the love。 How love changes people。 I remember reading the part where they fall in love and being in tears because of how beautifully it was shown。 It's sad and true and heartbreaking and amazing。 It's a rollercoaster of emotions and I love that all of this happened in a hospital and no one knew。 It was their own little love story。 。。。more
