Another year, another portfolio。 It should be noted that the cover displayed here, is not the one actually used, instead we have a contemplative Proboscis Monkey on the cover。 Once again, we have the best photos from this years competition, with a variety of categories taking in plants, urban, underwater, behaviour, etc。 The amazing thing is, as with every other portfolio, the imagination of the photographer, the eye they have for that one shot that can say so much。 There is a photo of an owl at Another year, another portfolio。 It should be noted that the cover displayed here, is not the one actually used, instead we have a contemplative Proboscis Monkey on the cover。 Once again, we have the best photos from this years competition, with a variety of categories taking in plants, urban, underwater, behaviour, etc。 The amazing thing is, as with every other portfolio, the imagination of the photographer, the eye they have for that one shot that can say so much。 There is a photo of an owl at night that I must have spent 5 minutes gazing at, such was the strength of the image。 As is usual, towards the back of the book, is the photo-journalism awards, given out for the best story, and as usual it's given over to photos of animal cruelty。 I do wonder occasionally if that is the only thing submitted to the award, or if the judges would never choose a more uplifting portfolio。 Just once, it would be nice to have something a little more positive。 Thankfully we end with the young persons awards, if nothing else, the future looks bright。 。。。more
