Summary

Willy Wonka's famous chocolate factory is opening at last!

But only five lucky children will be allowed inside。 And the winners are: Augustus Gloop, an enormously fat boy whose hobby is eating; Veruca Salt, a spoiled-rotten brat whose parents are wrapped around her little finger; Violet Beauregarde, a dim-witted gum-chewer with the fastest jaws around; Mike Teavee, a toy pistol-toting gangster-in-training who is obsessed with television; and Charlie Bucket, Our Hero, a boy who is honest and kind, brave and true, and good and ready for the wildest time of his life!

Rich in humor, acutely observant, Dahl lets his imagination rip in fairyland。 --The New York Times

This story is an emotional one for me esepcially that time when Charlie got his Golden Ticket! Such a wonderful story for children。 A lot of lessons children will surely learn。

This is my class reader in Year 3 to draw them into our topic of chocolate!

This is such a heartwarming tale! And so hilarious as well!

Charlie and the Chocolate factoryAwalnya saya mengira kalo buku anak ini berasal dari Amerika, karena dilihat dari desain cover dan judulnya Amerika sekali, ternyata dugaan saya salah sang penulis Roald Dahl ini berasal dan menetap di inggris。Saya kenal judulnyapun karena sudah diadaptasi ke dalam film dengan judul yang sama dan Johnny Depp berperan sebagai Willy wonka yang sangat iconic namun saya belum pernah menontonnya。。。Setelah menonton film matilda barulah saya berminat untuk membeli buku- Charlie and the Chocolate factoryAwalnya saya mengira kalo buku anak ini berasal dari Amerika, karena dilihat dari desain cover dan judulnya Amerika sekali, ternyata dugaan saya salah sang penulis Roald Dahl ini berasal dan menetap di inggris。Saya kenal judulnyapun karena sudah diadaptasi ke dalam film dengan judul yang sama dan Johnny Depp berperan sebagai Willy wonka yang sangat iconic namun saya belum pernah menontonnya。。。Setelah menonton film matilda barulah saya berminat untuk membeli buku-buku Roald Dahl。。Charlie digambarkan sebagai anak yang aktif dan sangat menyukai coklat。。 namun berasal dari keluarga tidak mampu yang tidak memungkinkannya menikmati coklat dengan mudah,, Charlie hanya bisa makan coklat setahun sekali di saat ulang tahunnya。。。Dunia Charlie berubah ketika Pabrik Coklat terbesar dan terkemuka yang penuh misteri ini membuka kesempatan untuk 5 orang anak beruntung mendapatkan tiket emas berkunjung ke pabrik yang selama 10 tahun ini tidak dibuka untuk umum dan akan mendapatkan hadiah yaitu menerima coklat seumur hidupnya。。。Tentunya bersaing dengan jutaan anak di dunia untuk mendapatkan tiket emas bagi charlie adalah sesuatu yang mustahil。。。 namun keberuntungan terjadi pada garis takdirnya。。。Kisah charlie ini sangat bagus dibaca untuk anak-anak,, Banyak nasehat dan pelajaran yang terjadi di dalam cerita apabila melakukan hal-hal yang berlebihan,, selain ada keceriaan dan kebahagiaan buku ini juga ada sisi mengharukan。。Nasehat Roald Dahl paling tajam adalah larangannya kepada anak-anak yang menghabiskan waktunya sepanjang hari dengan menonton Televisi dan menyarankan untuk menggantikannya dengan kegiatan yang jauh lebih berguna yaitu membaca buku。。 。。。more

I am slowly making my way through the Roald Dahl collection with my 3 year old son, and I totally understand why this is a favorite! It’s impossible not to like the selfless Charlie Bucket and his fun loving Grandpa Joe。 The book is close to the original movie, but the circumstances surrounding the Bucket’s poverty is emphasized much more in the book。 I burst into tears during the chapter about the family starving! 🥺 It was also entertaining as an adult to read Dahl’s criticism of certain parent I am slowly making my way through the Roald Dahl collection with my 3 year old son, and I totally understand why this is a favorite! I mean, the older I get the more I know for sure that Wonka purposely tested these children and chose the rooms most likely to hurt them。Love it

It was interesting to read this because I have seen both movies and I now realize that both movies have elements of the book in them。

My favorite book as a child filled with fantastical places, the ultimate underdog story and a moral lesson for us all。 This book has something to be taken away by readers of all ages。

I read this in the 6th grade, but the cover on this is different, anyway I had to take a test on it to pass the 6th grade english language arts。

Okay! I take it back。 Charlie and the Chocolate factory is charming when you aren't a little impressionable kid that is。 I still think that if I was young and reading this I would get nightmares (I get scared easily though, so you never know) but since I am an old seventeen year old and ancient as ever, I can learn to appreciate the beloved kid's tale for what it is。 A poor, well-mannered kid getting the chance of a lifetime。 All the chocolate in the world! :) Meaning: If you are kind and work h Okay!
