Emily Henry has done it again, folks! I’m not always a friends-to-lovers person, but this was done really well。 Did the conflict at the end really make sense? No, of course not。 But the book was still great, and was quick enough to read the entire thing over the course of a plane trip, which is ideal for a romance。

Cute, easy read。 A little slower paced but overall a good story。 I think I liked Beach Read better, but still worth reading。

I was in a rut and this book was exactly needed。 Definitely had me hooked the whole time。 I think now I’m gonna start panning my next vacation lol

Travel with a best friend。 I loved this light, frolicking, easy read, especially the refreshing, and humorous dialogue between Poppy and Alex in reading about their summer trips together along with present day conversations and travels。 My first Emily Henry book。

My heart is so full after finishing this book! This was the friends to lovers romance I didn't know I needed。 I fell in love with both Poppy and Alex and adored their humor and banter。 I also loved the way the author went back and forth between the past and present to make it more intriguing while also giving us snapshots to help us understand our characters better。 It was also just so fun that Poppy and Alex went on so many cool trips。 In a time when we can't travel, this book took me to so man My heart is so full after finishing this book! Loved it!This was such a cute concept and I loved the back and forth vacations Poppy and Alex went on over the years。 Both characters are likeable and have depth, in particular to their journey in discovering their love for one another, this was executed well。 Poppy’s emotions we’re really well written, I empathised with her feeling lonely, misunderstood, and even being so in love with someone it scares you。 Would have been 5* but a few things I didn’t like — just personal taste — and also I fou Loved it!This was such a cute concept and I loved the back and forth vacations Poppy and Alex went on over the years。 Both characters are likeable and have depth, in particular to their journey in discovering their love for one another, this was executed well。 Poppy’s emotions we’re really well written, I empathised with her feeling lonely, misunderstood, and even being so in love with someone it scares you。 Would have been 5* but a few things I didn’t like — just personal taste — and also I found the the build up to what actually happened in Croatia to be a little disappointing。 But overall a very good read and would recommend。 。。。more

Stymied again by the no partial stars rating system。 I would have gone 3。75 for this one most liked。 Total homage to the rom com movies I love specifically the ones written by the late great Nora Ehron。 I enjoyed the travel stories, because I totally understand the protagonist and why she loves to travel and things that happen on the road would/could never happen at home。 Favorite quote: “Alex,” I say, “ if I can’t love you at Times Square, then I don’t deserve you in a Used Bookstore。” I love t Stymied again by the no partial stars rating system。 I would have gone 3。75 for this one most liked。 Total homage to the rom com movies I love specifically the ones written by the late great Nora Ehron。 I enjoyed the travel stories, because I totally understand the protagonist and why she loves to travel and things that happen on the road would/could never happen at home。 Favorite quote: “Alex,” I say, “ if I can’t love you at Times Square, then I don’t deserve you in a Used Bookstore。” I love the play from the quote if you can’t love me at my worst you don’t deserve me at my best。 Also… the capitalization of Used Book store。 All important words should be capitalized even if they are not at the beginning of a sentence or a proper noun!!!Lastly, the Behind the Book section is worth the price of admission。 。。。more

EMILY HENRY, WE BOW DOWNMy plan right now is to build a time machine or develop a memory eraser so that I can go back and re-read this novel for the first time all over again。 I loved it even more than BEACH READ and I fell in love with every aspect of the book -- the tension-building pacing, the flashbacks, the rich characters, the setting descriptions, and the friends-to-lovers romance。 It was smart and funny and sweet and utterly perfect。 Honestly, this book is a MASTERCLASS in romance, and f EMILY HENRY, WE BOW DOWNMy plan right now is to build a time machine or develop a memory eraser so that I can go back and re-read this novel for the first time all over again。 I loved it even more than BEACH READ and I fell in love with every aspect of the book -- the tension-building pacing, the flashbacks, the rich characters, the setting descriptions, and the friends-to-lovers romance。 It was smart and funny and sweet and utterly perfect。 Honestly, this book is a MASTERCLASS in romance, and for books in general。 This has made my all-time favorites list, for sure。 (Also, the audio by Julia Whelan is fantastic! I am picky about audiobooks, but really, really enjoyed her narration。 A buy-in-all-formats book。)Lastly: I AM IN LOVE WITH ALEX NELSON THANK YOU BYE 。。。more

Perfection。 Exactly how I love my books; full of unrequited love, amazing sexy hero, all the ache and emotions。 Only the ending was a little anti climatic for my taste but other than that… as I said- perfection。

Long and drawn out the flashbacks from old trips to present day…。 12 years is extremely long to not know you have more than just friends feelings for someone! Had a hard time believing that。

One of the better summer rom-coms I've read。 The structure was interesting with a story set in the present and 10 mini-anecdotes from the summers past where readers receive a unique characterization of the two best friends。 One of the better summer rom-coms I've read。 The structure was interesting with a story set in the present and 10 mini-anecdotes from the summers past where readers receive a unique characterization of the two best friends。 。。。more

RTC - don't know how to feel about this, it almost felt like what I wanted from "Normal People" but at the same time not - and honestly the story is mostly slow paced and then BAAAMMM it just happens and feels completely out of nowhere and not my favorite scene at all。 But, I did love a lot of the talking and thinking about life in general that we had in the book and the overall context and plot line。 RTC - don't know how to feel about this, it almost felt like what I wanted from "Normal People" but at the same time not - and honestly the story is mostly slow paced and then BAAAMMM it just happens and feels completely out of nowhere and not my favorite scene at all。 But, I did love a lot of the talking and thinking about life in general that we had in the book and the overall context and plot line。 。。。more

Took this along on a road trip and it was just the thing。 Fun, funny, with a little bit of angst thrown in。My one complaint was that I didn't enjoy the way the timeline jumped。 Flash backs generally (imho) should just be used for context, not to tell half the dang story。 If half of the book was going to take place in the past it should (imho) have just been put in chronological order with a jump cut in the middle。 Took this along on a road trip and it was just the thing。 Fun, funny, with a little bit of angst thrown in。My one complaint was that I didn't enjoy the way the timeline jumped。 Flash backs generally (imho) should just be used for context, not to tell half the dang story。 If half of the book was going to take place in the past it should (imho) have just been put in chronological order with a jump cut in the middle。 。。。more

(4。5) My heart has been fluttering since I have opened the first page of this book。 This was such a sweet, funny read! The story between Poppy and Alex really touched my heart and it was impossible to put the book down。 Frankly, I enjoyed the chapters that described the past Summer Trips more than the current day chapters。 The Summer Trips were adorable, and so descriptive! It was as if I were on the trip with them。 It was also nice to see how things changed between the two as the years went by。 (4。5) My heart has been fluttering since I have opened the first page of this book。 This was such a sweet, funny read! No。 。。。more

I read this book I just three days。 I got me from the first page。 I’ve read similar stories where friendships turned out into something different but the thing with this one is the chemistry from the beginning and how they developed this incredible relationship。 I felt in love with both characters。 Poppy is everything that she wants but she doesn’t know it and Alex is amazing。 This novel melts your heart and make you laugh almost in every page。 Esta novela me enganchó desde la primera página。 Ha I read this book I just three days。 I got me from the first page。 I’ve read similar stories where friendships turned out into something different but the thing with this one is the chemistry from the beginning and how they developed this incredible relationship。 I felt in love with both characters。 Poppy is everything that she wants but she doesn’t know it and Alex is amazing。 This novel melts your heart and make you laugh almost in every page。 Esta novela me enganchó desde la primera página。 Había leído historias similares donde los mejores amigos terminan siendo algo más, pero la particularidad de esta novela está en la historia y en sus personajes。 Ambos terminan conociéndose en cada viaje y descubren que tienen mucho más que una amistad y a ambos le aterra confesar que se quieren。 Es ligera y te hará reír muchísimo。 No está en español, pero si sabes inglés te recomiendo que le des una oportunidad。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I feel like I spent 300 pages waiting for the big reason these two people have wasted 12 years of their lives NOT being together, and a reason never came。 Lol It made the description of random places very whatever to me because I was anticipating this big reveal! Ugh。 It wasn’t awful to read I’m just disappointed after beach read and the hype I’ve seen for this。

I received an eARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review。Alex and Poppy are unlikely friends。 Alex is reserved and in control while Poppy is loud and a free spirit。 After a long roadtrip home from college getting to know each other, they agree to go on a summer holiday every year。 Even though they live miles apart they always go on a trip。 That is until two years ago when something happened to make them never speak to each other。 When the opportunity arises to try and make I received an eARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review。Alex and Poppy are unlikely friends。 Alex is reserved and in control while Poppy is loud and a free spirit。 After a long roadtrip home from college getting to know each other, they agree to go on a summer holiday every year。 Even though they live miles apart they always go on a trip。 That is until two years ago when something happened to make them never speak to each other。 When the opportunity arises to try and make amends Poppy takes it。 One last summer trip to repair their friendship or turn it into something more。I was so excited to read more from Emily Henry after reading Beach Read and she didn't disappoint。 I would say this one is more romcom than Beach Read making it the perfect summer read。Dare I say that Emily Henry has made me reconsider friends to lovers? I totally bought the fact that they'd both been secretly pining for the other。 Because there are flashbacks to their previous holidays you really get to see how their friendship developed instead of just being told what great friends they are。 Even though Alex and Poppy are opposites, they compliment each other in a lot of ways。 I can see why they'd both think they are too different to work together but they do。As for Poppy and Alex individually, they were okay。 Perhaps I didn't connect with them as much because they reminded me of January and Augustus from Beach Read。 Maybe because I was so invested in their relationship I didn't particularly care for their work and personal problems。I also thought there were a few too many side characters。 Extended families, friends and all the people they come across on their trips left for a lot of names to keep track of。I loved the sunny atmosphere of this book。 I could really feel the heat described。 It's the perfect beach read。I found myself also giggling quite a few times。 Alex and Poppy's banter was so good。 It made it really believable that they were friends。 Basically, pick this book up if you want a fast and fun summer read。 。。。more
