Minnie and I enjoyed reading this at bed time。 Always a good message with a Williams book and this had several。 Joe Spud has all the riches thanks to his dads toilet roll business but all he really wants is a true friend

The stories point is that you do not need to much money to be happy, because some people are bored of having much money than the others。

I read this with my daughter。 We have previously read & enjoyed a few of the David Walliams books & this was no exception。 Joe Spud is a boy who is very wealthy。 His father has invented something that everyone in the country uses & it made them very rich, but Joe is also very lonely。 Joe begs his Dad to let him go to his local comprehensive school rather than his expensive private one, so that he can be anonymous & hopes to make some friends。 Along the way, Joe faces some challenges in learning I read this with my daughter。 We have previously read & enjoyed a few of the David Walliams books & this was no exception。 Joe Spud is a boy who is very wealthy。 His father has invented something that everyone in the country uses & it made them very rich, but Joe is also very lonely。 Joe begs his Dad to let him go to his local comprehensive school rather than his expensive private one, so that he can be anonymous & hopes to make some friends。 Along the way, Joe faces some challenges in learning that money definitely can’t buy happiness, or a nice school lunch at this particular school。 There are some good laugh out loud moments & there were some sad moments。 My daughter loved it! Our favourite character, Raj, was back in this story。 I absolutely love Raj & the comedy he brings to a situation, he is so heart warming。 。。。more

This book is about Joe Spud 12 year old boy who is over weight and over rich he had learnt over the the that Money doesn't buy you happiness, but it certainly buys you a lot of "friends" who are never going to make you happy。 it's not you they are interested in buddying up to。 Not having money doesn't make you happy either。 It money buy thing that are objects not personal things This book is about Joe Spud 12 year old boy who is over weight and over rich he had learnt over the the that Money doesn't buy you happiness, but it certainly buys you a lot of "friends" who are never going to make you happy。 it's not you they are interested in buddying up to。 Not having money doesn't make you happy either。 It money buy thing that are objects not personal things 。。。more

This is a brilliant book by David Walliams。 It’s about a boy who is a billionaire But when he goes to his new school he struggles to make new friends because he is filthy rich and he sometimes he just wants to be a normal boy。 This book made me realise being rich isn’t always easy for some people。 There is some illustrations and it’s a bit of an adventure with some emotion poured into it。

I Love Books

Good book。This book is very funny。And unlike the rest of Walliams books, it's not all that grim。It teaches a very valuable lesson。And gives you feelings。Amazing。 Good book。This book is very funny。And unlike the rest of Walliams books, it's not all that grim。It teaches a very valuable lesson。And gives you feelings。Amazing。 。。。more

I read this during my 24-hour readathon where I reread loads of my favourite children's books that I used to read when I was younger。Billionaire Boy used to be my favourite book when I was younger, and I can still see why。 It is an entertaining story following a rich kid who can afford anything he could want, except one thing: friendship。 Through this plot, David Walliams conveys the message that friendship is worth far more than anything money can buy, and it puts this message across very well I read this during my 24-hour readathon where I reread loads of my favourite children's books that I used to read when I was younger。Billionaire Boy used to be my favourite book when I was younger, and I can still see why。 It is an entertaining story following a rich kid who can afford anything he could want, except one thing: friendship。 Through this plot, David Walliams conveys the message that friendship is worth far more than anything money can buy, and it puts this message across very well to its target audience。 。。。more

This is the third David Walliam's book I have read。 Although I am not the target audience, I am studying to be a primary school teacher and have an interest in children's literature and the messages and the worth behind it。 I also just really enjoy picking it up to read and my brain being able to switch off for a bit。 I think reading this from a young adults point of view, I can definitely see the worth behind it (as I can with all of Walliam's work) as there are clear moral messages - this one This is the third David Walliam's book I have read。 Although I am not the target audience, I am studying to be a primary school teacher and have an interest in children's literature and the messages and the worth behind it。 I also just really enjoy picking it up to read and my brain being able to switch off for a bit。 I think reading this from a young adults point of view, I can definitely see the worth behind it (as I can with all of Walliam's work) as there are clear moral messages - this one being that money is not everything, money cannot buy happiness, look at people for who they are, not their wealth etc。 However, I have to say - Walliams often jumps onto the 'calling characters fat to make it funny' bandwagon。 I don't think Walliam's has any malice behind it but I do pick up on that if a character is supposed to be outcast or different, they are often 'fat'。 I do really enjoy Walliams' use of breaking the fourth wall。 I'm unsure if this is something that is used a lot in children's literature (I can't remember much of the books I used to read when I was younger having it), but I do really like it。 By addressing the reader directly, I think it pulls the reader into the book but also gives the book a slightly more mature feel? This may just be me constantly comparing it to "Reader, I married him" from Jane Eyre, but I do like Walliam's use of the term。 This wasn't my favourite book I've read of his so far, but I do definitely see the worth behind it。 。。。more

Billionaire Bairn Genre: Adventure Rating:5/5I like this book because it is adventure-filled!This book is about a billionaire boy and how he changes schools。 How everyone at his new school hates him because he is rich and has more money than anyone in his school。 He files a petition to get his sacked history teacher back。 He also stands up to the school bullies。 Finally how they are leveled because his father loses all his money。I recommend this book to people who like adventures!
