Brandon Sanderson deserves the reputation he's gotten in the fantasy genre。 You're almost always guaranteed to have a good time when reading his books。 Intricately plotted with well-rounded characters， it's clear that he puts a lot of time， effort， and care in crafting his stories。 The reason that this didn't get a full five stars is that toward the end it started to drag out too much。 When I can skim-read a handful of pages at a time toward the last third of the book and still know what's happe Brandon Sanderson deserves the reputation he's gotten in the fantasy genre。 You're almost always guaranteed to have a good time when reading his books。 Intricately plotted with well-rounded characters， it's clear that he puts a lot of time， effort， and care in crafting his stories。 The reason that this didn't get a full five stars is that toward the end it started to drag out too much。 When I can skim-read a handful of pages at a time toward the last third of the book and still know what's happening， missing paragraphs at a time， you know you probably should have cut it down somewhere。 My other major problem was Vin。 In the beginning， she didn't bother me too much。 But the middle section is really where I struggled to like her。 She acted really entitled to the information she wasn't meant to be privy to， often eavesdropping on private conversations。 Then she almost （view spoiler）[got herself killed by ignoring orders and following Kelsier who is a much stronger Allomancer， putting the mission overall in jeopardy （hide spoiler）]。 I felt that she was very unwilling to see someone else's point of view at times， dismissing people's desires to trust in one another and calling them foolish to their face， but then would get angry if people dismissed her points of view。 Like please try to rein in the amount of hypocrisy， love。 （view spoiler）[And the "love" between her and Elend sprouts up from out of nowhere。 I didn't buy into the romance aspect at all。 He ignores her to read books， they then share a bunch of witty repartees， and a few meetups at balls in which they both like to sit and scoff at everything， and suddenly they're in love with each other？ Come on。 （hide spoiler）]But all complaints aside， my favourite character was without a doubt Kelsier。 I love characters who push ahead despite the odds， despite what others think about them， because they see something beyond the hell they currently live in。 Coupled with Kelsier's charisma and ability to smile even after everything he's gone through， he truly was the backbone of this book。 Sanderson also creates beautiful magic systems。 Allomancy and the like are extraordinarily well thought-out。 Though some of the descriptions of this magic in use was a little difficult to follow， I was nevertheless enthralled by the creativity of it。 This trilogy would make an incredible game。 。。。more

4 estrellas y media。 Me ha gustado mucho。 Más que el primero de El archivo de las tormentas。 No le doy cinco estrellas porque me costó engancharme y entrar en este universo， pero reconozco que Sanderson va a más， y el final de este libro es apoteósico。 Yo lo dejaría ahí， no sé cómo Sanderson pretende mantener este nivel en una saga tan intensa como la que proyecta。 En breve me sumergiré en El pozo de la ascensión。

I'm unsure why after all these years of enjoying Sanderson， it took me so long to begin his most famous series。 Likely because it looks daunting: 6 giant books with more a coming。 At least with Stormlight Archive， there were only 2 when I began， so I had a head start there。Anyway， by some miracle， my random number generator selected this book at long last， which was great because I was in the mood for some more Sanderson。 Ahhh， Michael Kramer。 The voice of a god！Either I'm used to Sanderson by n I'm unsure why after all these years of enjoying Sanderson， it took me so long to begin his most famous series。 Likely because it looks daunting: 6 giant books with more a coming。 At least with Stormlight Archive， there were only 2 when I began， so I had a head start there。Anyway， by some miracle， my random number generator selected this book at long last， which was great because I was in the mood for some more Sanderson。 Ahhh， Michael Kramer。 The voice of a god！Either I'm used to Sanderson by now， or the introduction into the world of Mistborn was very smooth。 I liked the characters well enough and the magic world of allomancy was interesting。 I don't think it grabbed me quite as intensely as the world of Stormlight did （though admittedly， it DID take until halfway through the first book for it to do even that）。 But I'm glad I was interested enough to actually keep reading the book consistently。 Previously， some Sanderson books took me months to read， and I finished this one in a little less than 2 weeks （thanks， Covid）。I didn't feel as connected to the characters in this book as I have with other Sanderson books。 But boy， when Sanderson （view spoiler）[ killed off Kelsior， I was MAD。 Classic -_- He is extremely talented in making me realize how much I like certain characters， and then TAKING THEM AWAY。 （hide spoiler）] I don't think I paid as super close attention to the rules of allomancy - I'm unsure if it's because it was difficult to digest orally， or if I wasn't quite interested enough to keep myself focused。 I do know that the heist plot was a detriment to my interest， and a lot of the plot points seemed rather simple。。。But either way， I'll be very interested in resuming the series to see where it goes。 。。。more
