Summary

Tanjiro sets out on the path of the Demon Slayer to save his sister and avenge his family!

In Taisho-era Japan, Tanjiro Kamado is a kindhearted boy who makes a living selling charcoal。 But his peaceful life is shattered when a demon slaughters his entire family。 His little sister Nezuko is the only survivor, but she has been transformed into a demon herself! Tanjiro sets out on a dangerous journey to find a way to return his sister to normal and destroy the demon who ruined his life。

Tanjiro and Tomioka confront Akaza, the Upper-Rank 3 demon。 Against Akaza’s overwhelming strength, the two find themselves unable to do anything but defend themselves。 With the situation looking grim, Tanjiro awakens to the Transparent World his father once told him about。 Will this new knowledge allow Tanjiro to turn the tables and go on the offensive against Akaza?

A searing and emotional volume, even though rife with Demon Slayer clichés。 A strong continuation of the final arc of the series。

5/5!!! I absolutely love this series。I usually don't like action in my manga because I have a hard time understanding what is going on but not with this series! I love the characters and the growth we see from all of them and the amazing character design! This is a lot darker than most of the other Shonen Jumps I've read and I love that。 I think this volume is one of the best starts to a series that I've ever read。 If you enjoy series like D。Gray Man and Naruto I think you should check out this 5/5!!! A first volume that I enjoyed a bit less than the rest。 I found the battle with Akkaza to be quite tedious。 The whole thing with Tanjiro being suddenly able to fight without killing intent seemed to come out of nowhere and felt like deus ex machina。。。The volume does get better when the fight swaps back to Douma。。。

These demons have such tragic backstories rip。

Lots of fights here。 I'm annoyed at how the backstories have only been happening after the fights are over, making the actual fights so barren of real tension and emotional impact。 But no we get some in the middle of fights now! Akaza proves to be a demon with some holdover human, and Inosuke proves that just like a demon he's forgotten an important part of his past。 Lots of great moments here with characters actually coming to terms with their grief and loss。 Lots of fights here。 I'm annoyed at how the backstories have only been happening after the fights are over, making the actual fights so barren of real tension and emotional impact。 But no we get some in the middle of fights now! *3。5。 A cute volume。 Wasn’t super interested by the plot but the thing with Zenitsu was wow。 I honestly thought there would be no changes in regards to his appearance ever。 I did like that we also got a bit of his backstory。 Also seeing how even in death the hashira outsmarted the demon with poison was super satisfying。 Overall another nice volume can’t wait for the next。

Tanjiro and Giyu’s battle with demon Hakuji has been a frustrating one, but has finally ended and we learn how this future demon was born with an already demonic personality。 Kanao finally has help with her battle with Inosuke by her side, and surprising that demon was responsible for saving and destroying his early life。 A (100%/Outstanding)

This volume had me bursting into tears。 (view spoiler)[ I can’t believe Shinobu is gone。 I felt so sad for Akaza but I will never forgive his actions。 He was an example of how much kibutsuji could really manipulate people。。 I’m glad he took his own life and repented but may he rot in hell。 One of the things he talked about is why do the poor have to suffer。 We don’t know akaza, money drives people, and in every generation, us the poor will always suffer。 That’s just the way it is。 He’s fiancée w This volume had me bursting into tears。 (view spoiler)[ I can’t believe Shinobu is gone。 I felt so sad for Akaza but I will never forgive his actions。 He was an example of how much kibutsuji could really manipulate people。。 I’m glad he took his own life and repented but may he rot in hell。 One of the things he talked about is why do the poor have to suffer。 We don’t know akaza, money drives people, and in every generation, us the poor will always suffer。 That’s just the way it is。 He’s fiancée was so beatiful。 He didn’t kill us chicks which is a good thing😁 (hide spoiler)] 。。。more

Akaza’s backstory。。。。 Gotogue has an incredible talent for developing these characters, even the demons to the point that I’m crying for them and their losses。。。 this story is so so beautiful and this is probably one of my favorite volumes of the series

The fights are really well done and we actually get a surprise connection between one of the Upper moons and a character I did not expect but it pretty well done even if I do not think it was not really needed for that particular character。 But again I do love how that most of the demons when they die they do some from of redemption and we do get to learn about how they become a demon in the first place。 I do love how it hints at how Muzan manipulates them to become his servants。
