Summary

A missing girl on a journey of revenge。 A Serial―like podcast following the clues she's left behind。 And an ending you won't be able to stop talking about。

Sadie hasn't had an easy life。 Growing up on her own, she's been raising her sister Mattie in an isolated small town, trying her best to provide a normal life and keep their heads above water。

But when Mattie is found dead, Sadie's entire world crumbles。 After a somewhat botched police investigation, Sadie is determined to bring her sister's killer to justice and hits the road following a few meager clues to find him。

When West McCray―a radio personality working on a segment about small, forgotten towns in America―overhears Sadie's story at a local gas station, he becomes obsessed with finding the missing girl。 He starts his own podcast as he tracks Sadie's journey, trying to figure out what happened, hoping to find her before it's too late。

Courtney Summers has written the breakout book of her career。 Sadie is propulsive and harrowing and will keep you riveted until the last page。

I found myself bored sometimes reading this book I had to take a couple breaks from reading it。 I felt it was kind of all over the place and hard to follow sometimes。 Lots of different things going on。 I felt after everything sadie went through for the book to end the way it did was not worth it。 Definitely did not like the ending and left me wondering what happened。 Also really thinking what was even the point in the book。 Even though it was confusing sometimes I did find myself not being able I found myself bored sometimes reading this book I had to take a couple breaks from reading it。 I felt it was kind of all over the place and hard to follow sometimes。 Lots of different things going on。 I felt after everything sadie went through for the book to end the way it did was not worth it。 Definitely did not like the ending and left me wondering what happened。 Also really thinking what was even the point in the book。 Even though it was confusing sometimes I did find myself not being able to put the book down at some parts。 。。。more

I did this as an audiobook and it was excellent! I couldn't stop listening to it! The characters are wonderful and the telling of the story as a podcast pulls you in。 I loved Sadie's fierceness and determination and also her vulnerability as you learn more about her from other characters。 I did this as an audiobook and it was excellent! Sadie was a one-of-a-kind story and it only took me around two hours to tear through the pages in desperation to know what happened next。I found the choice of alternating between Sadie's first person perspective as she is seeking revenge for the death of her sister, Mattie, and the interviews of individuals she encountered during this journey on a podcast hosted by radio presenter, West McCray, to be ingenious and perfectly executed。It's one of those stories that differs itself from others。 Sadi Sadie was a one-of-a-kind story and it only took me around two hours to tear through the pages in desperation to know what happened next。I found the choice of alternating between Sadie's first person perspective as she is seeking revenge for the death of her sister, Mattie, and the interviews of individuals she encountered during this journey on a podcast hosted by radio presenter, West McCray, to be ingenious and perfectly executed。It's one of those stories that differs itself from others。 Sadie is sinister, haunting and an ultimately brilliantly crafted book that leaves you on the edge of your seat with every page, pleading that Sadie is able to find the justice both she and her sister deserve。 。。。more

Sadie by Courtney Summers does not disappoint。 Between the mystery and the heart racing moments I could not get enough of this book。 I guess it was a four star rating because the mystery was excellent and I loved the characters in the way that Courtney wrote the book。 I like the way she had a little news channel after every single chapter。 It really added to the whole novel。 The reason this book did not get if I start reading was because the ending I wish I was a little better and I feel that th Sadie by Courtney Summers does not disappoint。 Between the mystery and the heart racing moments I could not get enough of this book。 I guess it was a four star rating because the mystery was excellent and I loved the characters in the way that Courtney wrote the book。 I like the way she had a little news channel after every single chapter。 It really added to the whole novel。 The reason this book did not get if I start reading was because the ending I wish I was a little better and I feel that there could’ve been a little romance added to this even though it is a murder mystery。Some of my favourite parts will stay secret until you read the book so there are no spoilers。 From the beginning middle and end Sadie by Courtney Summers will forever live as a great murder mystery that will forever hold a place in the crime side of my mind。Overall I would definitely recommend this book any mystery or horror book fans。 I feel that this book needs more height and should be on booktok。 Thanks to Courtney Summers I cannot stop thinking about the way the book ended and begun。 😮 。。。more

I'm not going to rate this, because I feel like that's unfair, but I am going to explain why I didn't finish Sadie。 At first it was fantastic and I was really into it, but then it lost me。 I tried really hard to get back into it but it just didn't work out for me。So overall it could have been good, other people may have liked it, but this wasn't the murder mystery I wanted to read。 I'm not going to rate this, because I feel like that's unfair, but I am going to explain why I didn't finish Sadie。 At first it was fantastic and I was really into it, but then it lost me。 I tried really hard to get back into it but it just didn't work out for me。So overall it could have been good, other people may have liked it, but this wasn't the murder mystery I wanted to read。 。。。more

~ 5/5 stars ~THE AUDIOBOOK WAS PHENOMENAL。 I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend listening to it。 It’s probably the best audiobook I’ve ever listened to and trust me, I’ve listened to a lot。 The added bonus of listening to the audiobook is that about every other chapter of this book is part of a crime podcast so it was really nice to experience it like it was a “real” podcast。 There’s also a FULL cast which makes it that much better。 Although before you read, I’d recommend reading some trigger warnings beca ~ 5/5 stars ~THE AUDIOBOOK WAS PHENOMENAL。 I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend listening to it。 It’s probably the best audiobook I’ve ever listened to and trust me, I’ve listened to a lot。 The added bonus of listening to the audiobook is that about every other chapter of this book is part of a crime podcast so it was really nice to experience it like it was a “real” podcast。 There’s also a FULL cast which makes it that much better。 Although before you read, I’d recommend reading some trigger warnings because I went into this book knowing nothing。 The ending of this book… (view spoiler)[is a mystery and while it would usually get 1 star taken off, I actually really like the ending, especially given the context。 (hide spoiler)]It’s a really well written mystery novel and I’d highly recommend it。 。。。more

If you're considering this book at all, 1。 read it and 2。 LISTEN TO IT。 I cannot rave about the audio enough! It's SO GOOD。 Full cast - you have different people for every character, the podcast sounds legit, there are background noises (cell phones buzzing, doors closing, glass breaking)。 The story is good too。 I was invested in Sadie's story。 And this one felt like a unique ending - it seems like mystery/thriller stories end in a big twist, but this one didn't。 There are a lot of trigger warni If you're considering this book at all, 1。 read it and 2。 LISTEN TO IT。 I cannot rave about the audio enough! So this was just amazing and you should totally do the audiobook。 Between the podcasts and the stutter of the main character, this book is so suited to audio format。 I found this book so compelling。 I suspected I knew where we were going, but that never detracted from the tension of the story as it alternated between Sadie’s narrative and that of the reporter looking into her disappearance。

Es un libro muy educativo y habla de la realidad dura de la que se nos enfrenta en especial a las mujeres, lo único el final me hubiera gustado que sea un poco mas impactante y que hubiera un plot twist pero la historia es hermosa y la trama también 🖤。
