3。5*A cute manga that touches lightly topics such as gender roles and societal expectations on women, while also unfolding a romance between two coworkers who feel trapped or oppressed by their sexualities and lives。 There are some plots that are left unexplored (a pity), but there are some enjoyable scenes too。 And Asano and Fujimura make a good couple!

This book was excellent。 It had a happy ending, lesbians。 While it did end happy one of the characters Ms。 Fujimura said some things about being lesbian and loving women that were too real and made me sad and broken。 I personally felt like the book opened opportunities to talk about situations pertaining only to sapphics such as an obligation to conform to heteronormative society。 But it could also fly over your head。 You really have to be looking。 I'd recommend this to anyone wanting to see wom This book was excellent。 It had a happy ending, lesbians。 While it did end happy one of the characters Ms。 Fujimura said some things about being lesbian and loving women that were too real and made me sad and broken。 I personally felt like the book opened opportunities to talk about situations pertaining only to sapphics such as an obligation to conform to heteronormative society。 But it could also fly over your head。 You really have to be looking。 I'd recommend this to anyone wanting to see women loving women, but let me say it's not a complete escape from reality。 。。。more

I wish there was more volumes to this。I loved it。

One of the spiciest yuri manga, I ever read!

Cute。 I loved that this was a story of mature women in a workplace。 Wished we could’ve gotten more of their own individual lives, as it focused mostly on the romance, but it was still a fulfilling story。

This was sitting on the new shelf at my library。 I've been on a bit of a comic/manga bender lately (and the pictureless book I brought with me wasn't holding my attention) and did you say sapphic workplace boss/subordinate romance? Cheating on the husband trope aside, I loved so much about this。 Theres not a lot of good Yuri manga around, so I'm glad I found this one; as a physical copy as well! I did quite like the main character and the relationship dynamic between the two women, however I just wish it was longer- but I usually tend to say that with every single volume manga story ahahaha。 I wanted to see a slower, and more detailed, character growth, but either way, as a single volume it was still so cute and enjoyable。 Cheating on the husband trope aside, I loved so much about this。 Theres not a lot of good Yuri manga around, so I'm glad I found this one; as a physical copy as well! Cute。 Steamy at some points but not over the top steamy。 Very classy but nice for adults to enjoy。

An important work about social norms and personal happiness。 Torn between their affection and reality, the two heroines forge a fragile bond until they realise that life without happiness isn’t worth living。 I’m sadly not very familiar with the 🏳️‍🌈 movement in Japan; hence, I’m going to assume that this Manga portrays the relationship of the characters accurately。 To the haters: I read the title as “I love you so much。 I hate you”。 Then, it makes sense。 -1 star for some translation errors。

This was very cute, and if I would like it to continue it isn’t needed。 The ending is good as it is。 Although I do hope that if it is continued their secret will be revealed for the rest of the world to see。

I love the look of this manga。 And I love that the romance at the heart of it features two adult women, not high school girls! That said, I wish this story were more fleshed out。 It begins with an affair between Fujimura and her boss, Asano, who both work in what appears to be a high-powered business office。 We can feel some of the pressure both women seem to be under, and we see the way Fujimura feels obligated to keep the fact that she's a lesbian hidden。The unequal relationship between these t I love the look of this manga。 And I love that the romance at the heart of it features two adult women, not high school girls! That said, I wish this story were more fleshed out。 It begins with an affair between Fujimura and her boss, Asano, who both work in what appears to be a high-powered business office。 We can feel some of the pressure both women seem to be under, and we see the way Fujimura feels obligated to keep the fact that she's a lesbian hidden。The unequal relationship between these two women is problematic, a fact that's never really explored。 Moreover, Asano is a married woman。 Much more attention is paid to that issue。 We soon come to understand that her marriage is unhappy; she and her husband have different expectations。 Worse, he's cheating on her。 When she starts her affair with Fujimura, she's partly after revenge。While Fujimura seems a bit stuck where she is, Asano has a major decision to make about her life 。 。 。 and I'm disappointed that both the decision and any immediate consequences happen off-screen。 I also wish we learned more about her husband。 He didn't quite seem a real character。Still, an enjoyable and very pretty read! 。。。more

Yuri manga is dominated by schoolgirl romances, which is expected for the genre。 But with I Love You So Much I Hate You, we finally get a look at what women-centres romance looks like for adult women, especially for those women in the workplace and dealing with the difficult aspects of sexism and patriarchy in Japanese work culture。 There’s a lot to like here: two good and interesting characters, a strong relationship between the two women, tasteful sex scenes, a look into how women fit into Jap Yuri manga is dominated by schoolgirl romances, which is expected for the genre。 But with I Love You So Much I Hate You, we finally get a look at what women-centres romance looks like for adult women, especially for those women in the workplace and dealing with the difficult aspects of sexism and patriarchy in Japanese work culture。 There’s a lot to like here: two good and interesting characters, a strong relationship between the two women, tasteful sex scenes, a look into how women fit into Japanese office culture and the challenges they face, and of course a happy ending。 What? It’s a cute and short story。 I don’t really feel like the title is the right one for the story though。 I feel like there was more depth that could have been explored but it’s a sweet and to the point story。 I appreciate that it was drawn out for forever

More of a 3。5 star rating; While I liked the story, I feel like the overall story could’ve been extended a bit。 I wish there a bit more character development between Ayako and Saori, and I’m curious to know more about some things in the story。Like how the conversation of divorce went between Ayako and her husband; how did Ayako even find out about her husband’s affair; An elaboration on the affair between Suzuki and her boss。 All of that had the potential to be answered in another 1 or even 2 man More of a 3。5 star rating; While I liked the story, I feel like the overall story could’ve been extended a bit。 I wish there a bit more character development between Ayako and Saori, and I’m curious to know more about some things in the story。Like how the conversation of divorce went between Ayako and her husband; how did Ayako even find out about her husband’s affair; An elaboration on the affair between Suzuki and her boss。 All of that had the potential to be answered in another 1 or even 2 manga volumes。 。。。more

Aw! I have no idea how that title applies to the story in this book, but it was absolutely adorable, and my only complaint is that as a standalone manga, there wasn't enough room to develop the story or characters as much as I would have liked。Definitely worth a read, though。 Aw! Well written with good artThis is a well written story that delves into the difficulties of being both a career woman and a lesbian in a traditional culture like Japan。 While many of the issues the protagonists face might not be as relevant for western readers, there are still vestiges of the same attitudes lurking in western culture or we wouldn't have issues with young people being afraid to come out and various hate groups trying to roll back the progress that has been made over the past few Well written with good artThis is a well written story that delves into the difficulties of being both a career woman and a lesbian in a traditional culture like Japan。 While many of the issues the protagonists face might not be as relevant for western readers, there are still vestiges of the same attitudes lurking in western culture or we wouldn't have issues with young people being afraid to come out and various hate groups trying to roll back the progress that has been made over the past few decades for both women's rights and gay rights, let alone the fact that there is still a significant gender gap in pay rates。 All in all,it is a wonderful story。 。。。more

Despite the confusing title, this book is 100 percent pure love!I'm ecstatic to have found, maybe for the first time ever, a yuri manga that deals with adult relationships that are told from an adult point of view。 This manga is so realistic and genuine。 When I finished it, even though it wraps up the story completely, I was disappointed to realize there's no more。The art is gorgeous。 There are many, many steamy love scenes between the two protagonists: a fast-rising office worker and her gorgeo Despite the confusing title, this book is 100 percent pure love!I'm ecstatic to have found, maybe for the first time ever, a yuri manga that deals with adult relationships that are told from an adult point of view。 This manga is so realistic and genuine。 When I finished it, even though it wraps up the story completely, I was disappointed to realize there's no more。The art is gorgeous。 There are many, many steamy love scenes between the two protagonists: a fast-rising office worker and her gorgeous, but married, boss。 The storyline is believable。 You get a glimpse into each of the characters' heads and know what they're thinking even before they admit it to each other。 You're rooting for things to work out for them in spite of their obstacles。If you've watched Asian dramas, you've probably seen coworkers hanging out together after their shift, going out to eat and drink and unwind。 There's a lot of that in this manga, but the two women always separate themselves from their male coworkers so they can date in private。 I just found it so sweet, but it's also mature。 They're not high school kids, there are no immature misunderstandings, there's no third wheel, no goofy side jokes, no cutsie antics, no getting drunk and acting silly。 It's a grown-up story with mature characters and an adult story and I am absolutely in love with it。I hope to see more of this author's work in the future。 This is first class, top tier, incomparable yuri and I need more of it in my life。 。。。more

This book is beautiful and important not because it's a lesbian romance, but because of how the central relationship empowers both women。 Both believe that happiness is something that is outside of their reach, one because she's gay in a society that doesn't accept f/f relationships as "real" and the other because she's been trying so hard to do what she's "supposed to" that she hasn't even really registered that it's making her miserable。 While their relationship begins as an affair (one woman This book is beautiful and important not because it's a lesbian romance, but because of how the central relationship empowers both women。 Both believe that happiness is something that is outside of their reach, one because she's gay in a society that doesn't accept f/f relationships as "real" and the other because she's been trying so hard to do what she's "supposed to" that she hasn't even really registered that it's making her miserable。 While their relationship begins as an affair (one woman is married), it offers both of them the chance to realize that happiness is right there in front of them if they're willing to admit that they want it。 They bring out the best in each other, which is what a romance should do。 。。。more

Really, really well done。 You have realistic characters facing relatable problems。 It’s sweet and well-done。 The only thing I would deduct points on is that panel backgrounds are usually very sparse but that’s not a big deal。Hopefully the author does create a sequel volume。

What do they like to do together outside of work and sex? There are also a few plotlines that are presented but never really shown and are just kind of left without a conclusion。 Ayano and her husband are both having affairs and losing love between each other and that builds and builds throughout the story but is never addressed? We just get the end, the resolution, without the climax。 I wish there had been a scene of them talking about it, addressing it, their affairs being exposed, something! There were no consequences in this story for anyone's affair。 Them having an affair was such a problem for our main characters - they were so anxious about people finding out - for the majority of the story, just for it to be handled offscreen was annoying。Also, there was another office romance/affair in the story that was discovered by the workplace and the way it blew up withing the workforce, enough for one of the individuals in the affair to quit working there, but there is never even the thought of what might happen to Ayano and Fujimura if their romance is discovered by the workplace。I just felt like this manga has a lot of opportunities to discuss what it's like to be a female lesbian in the Japanese workplace, and it just didn't。 It had a lot of opportunities to discuss the familial and societal expectations of women in Japan, and it touched on it lightly but didn't do much with it aside from hinting that it's there。I am very happy to have a non-school based yuri story。 I feel like most of them take place in school。 I loved seeing adult women in their late twenties and thirties still discovering and exploring their sexuality and still finding love at an older age。 I loved seeing mature, consensual portrayals of sex。 And I still enjoyed the story。 It was still a fun read, even if it didn't do as much as I would have hoped it would。 。。。more
