Summary

The witch and her cat are happily flying through the sky on a broomstick when the wind picks up and blows away the witch's hat， then her bow， and then her wand！  Luckily， three helpful animals find the missing items， and all they want in return is a ride on the broom。  But is there room on the broom for so many friends？  And when disaster strikes， will they be able to save the witch from a hungry dragon？

Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson， Illustrator Axel Scheffler- Children’s book- Notable fact about Children’s book is that all characters are helpful and friendly。 A Witch owns a broomstick。 She wears a yellow hair band on her orange hair and wears a black hat。 she also owns a cat。 While she is happily flying with them， the wind picks up and blows her hat away。 She brings the broom to the ground and attempts to find the hat。 A small puppy helps her to find her hat and returns it to her。 Puppy Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson， Illustrator Axel Scheffler- Children’s book- Notable fact about Children’s book is that all characters are helpful and friendly。 A Witch owns a broomstick。 She wears a yellow hair band on her orange hair and wears a black hat。 she also owns a cat。 While she is happily flying with them， the wind picks up and blows her hat away。 She brings the broom to the ground and attempts to find the hat。 A small puppy helps her to find her hat and returns it to her。 Puppy requests her whether he can accompany her on the broomstick。 She accepts and they fly again in the sky。 Strong wind current flow and her hair wand flies of。 They come down to locate the hair wand。 A small green bird collects the hair band and returns it to the Witch。 She also requests for a seat on the broomstick。 The Witch accepts and they fly again over a river。 But now because of the wind current， her stick falls in the river water。 Soon they find that a small frog is carrying her stick to her。 Small frog also requests the Witch to accept her on the broomstick。 She accepts。 They fly on the hills。 Frog is happy so he jumps on the broomstick。 This act of the frog imbalances the balance of other animals。 In this disaster， they all fall on the ground。 The broomstick is broken in two parts。 One part of the broomstick flies in the sky。 Just then a hungry dragon appears and claims that he will eat the Witch’s sweet meat。 A large animal full of wet mud rises from the banks of the rifer。 He shouts and claims that he will eat the Witch。 The Dragon is afraid and runs away。 Now， the puppy， cat， frog & bird remove their joint large animal form and come to their original form。 The Witch is happy。 She brings out her kettle and requests all to bring food to cook。 They found a flower， a bird and a bone。 She repeated a magic spell。 From this spell， a new broomstick came out。 This stick had enough space for all- separate seat for the cat and dog， nest for the bird， a pond for the frog。 Now， they all sat on the broomstick and happily flew in the air。 Message- united we stand， we must help each other and help all who are in need， maintain presence of mind in difficult situation。 The illustrations are helpful in retaining the interest of the reader to the narrative。 This is a classic children’s book。 。。。more

This is a perfect example of what a board book should not be。 The story is much too complicated and for an older group of early grade children than what the format of a board book is intended for。
