Summary

Midoriya inherits the superpower of the world’s greatest hero, but greatness won’t come easy。

What would the world be like if 80 percent of the population manifested superpowers called “Quirks”? Heroes and villains would be battling it out everywhere! Being a hero would mean learning to use your power, but where would you go to study? The Hero Academy of course! But what would you do if you were one of the 20 percent who were born Quirkless?

Shigaraki Tomura has finally awakened, and as he begins to unleash his savage powers, the heroes realize it’s going to take everyone and everything they have to stop him。 Several heroes have been lost already, and even as the number one hero, Endeavor, takes on Tomura, Midoriya and Bakugo must now put themselves on the front line。 Meanwhile, the massive villain Gigantomachia rampages toward Jaku City。 It seems nothing can stop him, but the students of U。A。 are determined to succeed or die trying…

Ughhhh, the relationship parallels between Bakugou & Deku and Endeavor & All Might are so fascinating。 Especially because Bakugou realized his error in fighting Deku before Endeavor realized the poor way he was treating All Might。 And that cliffhanger!!

I wish I could give this more than 5 stars。 Volume 29 was another volume that I binge-read, unable to put it down。 I sped through the chapters, as it was so full of action and drama that I couldn't unable to put it down。 I sped through the chapters, as it was so full of action and drama that I couldn't resist the urge to immediately turn the page。We pick up right where we left off with the fight against Shigaraki, who's being kept at bay only by Aizawa's Erasure。 His power, All for One, is not as easy to control as Shigaraki thought。 We discover how it's affecting him and his body, and it contains a somewhat uncontrollable urge from his master。 For a while, he's been a villain who simply hates heroes, but we've not been able to delve too deeply into why。 Before his enemies, he declares for all to hear why he hates heroes and their 'corrupt' society。 The trouble is, he does have a point。 Not all heroes are good people。 They hurt others to advance themselves。 For example, the old Endeavor。In the previous volume, Shigaraki summoned Gigantomachia, and as the giant attempts to make his way to his new master, he leaves absolute chaos and destruction in his wake。 He's just as powerful as Shigaraki in a way, and almost impossible to stop。 Even some of the top-ranked heroes have trouble fighting him。 The odds really don't look too good。 Thankfully--but also not thankfully because it means they're in danger--the U。A。 kids are nearby。 They realise that even though the pros told them to stay back after their aid in the initial skirmish, they have to help and decide to leap back into the fight in an attempt to take down Gigantomachia。 We get some cool classmate interactions, in particular a Kirishima-Mina moment, which seems to be another almost-canon ship, along with Kaminari-Jiro。 Kirishima and Mina have a cute moment as they both attempt to take Gigantomachia down。 Personally, I don't ship them, but I can appreciate it all the same。Then we return to our favourite duo, Deku and Bakugou, who try their best to take part in the fight against Shigaraki, despite being told not to。 It's dangerous, a real life-or-death situation。 The boys give it their all to take Shigaraki down, but the pro-heroes helping them are at their limits, and the boys are quickly reaching theirs too。 Shigaraki is just so strong, and at points it feels like they're all fighting a loosing battle。 However, there's a turn of events when Deku notices the toll Shigaraki's Quirk is taking on his body, and it spurs another Quirk advancement with One for All。 It's pretty epic as he uses it to protect his friends and allies。 We also get a sneak peak into how Deku has trained up until this moment。 He's learned how to use Black Whip with the help of All Might and some of his classmates, helping him control it and use his new abilities to it's full potential。 Where Shigaraki is all-powerful, it seems Deku is catching up。Bakugou is also given the spotlight this volume, alongside Deku。 Since he's one of Deku's only friends who knows about One for all, he and All Might have discussed the powerful Quirk and how Deku is going to struggle to hide its true identity, now he's able to access past users' Quirks。 It's going to be almost impossible to pass it off as one Quirk。 It's scarily similar to All for One, where he can call upon his multiple Quirks。 Bakugou has been surprisingly protective of Deku these past couple of volumes。 He's had some amazing character development。 He's still brash and headstrong, but he's softened a little on the inside。 He realises his past mistakes and vows to atone, not unlike Endeavor。 His friendship with Deku shows itself at times as a genuine partnership instead of head-butting rivals。At the end, there's a final bid to stop Shigaraki as Deku battles it out with him, the pair of them slowly deteriorating from how much they've used their Quirks, fighting until one of them is too battered and exhausted to continue。 Something happens that had my jaw fall to the floor with an audible gasp。 It was an amazing act of self-sacrifice, but now I'm worried for the fate of said character。Simply put, this volume is painful。 One of my favourite characters goes through so much, and its unbelievable how they're still standing。 They're absolutely amazing, but my goodness, the trauma they're going through is insane。 Another favourite character is mortally injured, several other characters are likely dead, and others are very badly wounded。 This is a war all right。 A frightening and deadly war that needs to be put a stop to immediately。 I'm so scared but so excited to pick up the next volume。My Blog 。。。more

oh。 my。 god。 we love to see Izuku giving it his all and everyone being in awe。 Also, that Bakugō character development? If this keeps going we might forgive him after all。 We'll see。 oh。 my。 god。 we love to see Izuku giving it his all and everyone being in awe。 Also, that Bakugō character development?
