Summary

Following his ground-breaking, critically acclaimed run on Detective Comics, writer Scott Snyder (American Vampire) alongside artist Greg Capullo (Spawn) begins a new era of The Dark Knight as with the relaunch of Batman, as a part of DC Comics—The New 52!

After a series of brutal murders rocks Gotham City, Batman begins to realize that perhaps these crimes go far deeper than appearances suggest。 As the Caped Crusader begins to unravel this deadly mystery, he discovers a conspiracy going back to his youth and beyond to the origins of the city he's sworn to protect。 Could the Court of Owls, once thought to be nothing more than an urban legend, be behind the crime and corruption? Or is Bruce Wayne losing his grip on sanity and falling prey to the pressures of his war on crime?

Collects issues #1-7 of Batman。

4。75/5Third Batman comic I read, first Scott Snyder one。 And I really get the hype now。 This was very enjoyable。 Great story, I didn't want to put it down, and the art style is awesome as well。 I knew about the court of owls before, but did not care much for it but this comic completely changed my mind。 4。75/5Third Batman comic I read, first Scott Snyder one。 And I really get the hype now。 This was very enjoyable。 Great story, I didn't want to put it down, and the art style is awesome as well。 I knew about the court of owls before, but did not care much for it but this comic completely changed my mind。 。。。more

I'd recommend this book as a great starting point for someone who hasn't read much batman, as it's a really great place to start。 You really don't need to have read anything before this, which just feels like a luxury after reading so many 90's comics。 It's a fun mystery that is written well and feels consistent。 This book is the first in the famous run of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, and the art isn't as strong as the other stories。 It feels like Capullo is just finding his feet here although I'd recommend this book as a great starting point for someone who hasn't read much batman, as it's a really great place to start。 You really don't need to have read anything before this, which just feels like a luxury after reading so many 90's comics。 It's a fun mystery that is written well and feels consistent。 This book is the first in the famous run of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, and the art isn't as strong as the other stories。 It feels like Capullo is just finding his feet here although his art isn't bad in any way。 Snyder's story however is great and one of the best in the run。 I'd recommend this even if you aren't a big batman fan, as it really is just a great solid book。 。。。more

I've enjoyed Snyder's work on "American Vampire" and "Batman Black Mirror" and so when I saw that he'd penned a Batman run during the old New 52 stage I grabbed it。 While nothing amazing, it was pretty good。 The artwork, also, while not stellar, seems to work in concert with this historical mystery with a Gothic Gotham feel。A mysterious murder puts Commissioner Gordon and Batman on the trail of a mythical organization。 Once, legends told, there was a group of powerful families who instituted a s I've enjoyed Snyder's work on "American Vampire" and "Batman Black Mirror" and so when I saw that he'd penned a Batman run during the old New 52 stage I grabbed it。 While nothing amazing, it was pretty good。 The artwork, also, while not stellar, seems to work in concert with this historical mystery with a Gothic Gotham feel。A mysterious murder puts Commissioner Gordon and Batman on the trail of a mythical organization。 Once, legends told, there was a group of powerful families who instituted a secret ruling cabal to influence Gotham。 Those that interfered with their plans were dispatched by elite assassins known as Talons。 This is the story behind the Court of Owls。It will lead Batman, and Bruce Wayne, on a strange journey through Gotham。 As he learns old secrets about its founding and his own family history, it will turn out that the Court of Owls is very much real and on the hunt for a certain Batman。On the whole? It was an interesting take on the usual Batman "lore"。 The Talons seem to be an interesting villain。 Also, the Batman fight against the Talon was not only cool but trippy as well。A nice Batman volume。 Good artwork and an interesting story。 Look forward to seeing where this story goes。 So far? I like Snyder's Batman。 Just one thing。 The Whisper Gang? The ones who have their recruits wear a metal mask over their mouths for a year, to show loyalty, before they are removed? Um yeah。。。so。。。uh how do they eat? Sometimes comic writers tend to display sophomoric levels of intellect。 。。。more

Started off as a great mystery and then petered off at the end which Batman going insane。 Not insane enough to loose his skill as a detective though。 The subplot out Dick was pretty awesome too。

This。 was。 so。 good。Captivating from start to finish, and I can't believe I haven't reread this since I was 13。 Snyder is just so brilliant in the way he crafts the story, and Capullo's art is dark and mysterious, but colorful too, when it needs to be。 I liked the tease of a new character (Harper) at the end, and I'm excited to see more of her。 This。 was。 so。 good。Captivating from start to finish, and I can't believe I haven't reread this since I was 13。 Snyder is just so brilliant in the way he crafts the story, and Capullo's art is dark and mysterious, but colorful too, when it needs to be。 I liked the tease of a new character (Harper) at the end, and I'm excited to see more of her。 。。。more

cool comic pretty interesting。SPOILERS!! (i think)---the part where bruce was in the maze and the pages were flipped upside down was such a cool touch cause i guess it’s meant to simulate bruce’s confusion in the maze but i read it online so i had to flip the laptop hahah

4。5Issues 1-4 were a 4/5Issues 5-7 were a 5/5After a long personal wait, I've finally started the Batman series from The New 52。 Great inking and coloring choices combined with a solid storyline make this one of the better Batman graphic novels I've read。 The only story related area where the comic suffers is a slow pacing in the first four issues。 There are good introductions of characters and locations, but not a lot happens to really drive the story beyond the all too familiar build up of act 4。5Issues 1-4 were a 4/5Issues 5-7 were a 5/5After a long personal wait, I've finally started the Batman series from The New 52。 Great inking and coloring choices combined with a solid storyline make this one of the better Batman graphic novels I've read。 The only story related area where the comic suffers is a slow pacing in the first four issues。 There are good introductions of characters and locations, but not a lot happens to really drive the story beyond the all too familiar build up of action。 Though it was good too see so many familiar characters showcased early on。 Another part that suffers greatly, in my opinion, is the design choice for the male characters' faces。 They all seem to have a very cliche "manly man" square jaw profile and with protruding chins, small ears, and flat pressed lips。 This gives them an unfortunate aloof jock appearance。 Aside from looking a bit 'deficient', the real problem really is that they gave the same look for practically each male character, so there is very little variation amongst them。 This made me favor the look of Batman significantly over the look of Bruce Wayne。 A good start to the series。 Hopefully the rest will keep the level of pacing and development of the exciting latter issues。 。。。more

The Court of Owls" me pareció genial! Batman New 52 hep izlemek istediğim ama bir türlü vakit bulamadığım bir seriydi。 Özellikle "Court of the Owls" kısmı oldukça ilgimi çekiyordu。 Açıkçası oldukça akıcı ve mistik bir hikaye bulduğumu söylemeliyim。 Sonraki kitaplarda ne bulacağımı bilmiyorum ama özellikle ilk cilt Batman severlere heyecanlı ve gizemli bir okuma keyfi sunuyor。 Gotham'ın kalbinde uzun zamandır sessizce yaşayan Baykuş tarikatı ve Talon kötü karakteri potansiyeli yüksek bir açılış yapıyor。14。04。2021Londra, Birleşik Kral Batman New 52 hep izlemek istediğim ama bir türlü vakit bulamadığım bir seriydi。 Özellikle "Court of the Owls" kısmı oldukça ilgimi çekiyordu。 Açıkçası oldukça akıcı ve mistik bir hikaye bulduğumu söylemeliyim。 Sonraki kitaplarda ne bulacağımı bilmiyorum ama özellikle ilk cilt Batman severlere heyecanlı ve gizemli bir okuma keyfi sunuyor。 Gotham'ın kalbinde uzun zamandır sessizce yaşayan Baykuş tarikatı ve Talon kötü karakteri potansiyeli yüksek bir açılış yapıyor。14。04。2021Londra, Birleşik KrallıkAlp Turgut 。。。more

Surprisingly intense。 Batman goes to some dark places in this volume。 Near the end of issue two is when the court had their claws in me。 The follow up "Night of Owls" takes it from this intense, action-y mystery to action packed race against time。 More in that review。Warnings for blood and creepy/hallucinogenic depictions。 Surprisingly intense。 Batman goes to some dark places in this volume。 Near the end of issue two is when the court had their claws in me。 The follow up "Night of Owls" takes it from this intense, action-y mystery to action packed race against time。 More in that review。Warnings for blood and creepy/hallucinogenic depictions。 。。。more

This is a great Batman adventure, that's heavy on action but keeps the story logical and progressing。 It feels like a great modern Batman story that plays with the elements that make the character interesting, his tortured past, relationship with Gotham, power dynamics, politics, and introduces a seemingly viable threat to the caped crusader。 This is a great Batman adventure, that's heavy on action but keeps the story logical and progressing。 It feels like a great modern Batman story that plays with the elements that make the character interesting, his tortured past, relationship with Gotham, power dynamics, politics, and introduces a seemingly viable threat to the caped crusader。 。。。more

Actually 4。5 stars, this book only gets this rating because it seems to me that Scott Snyder is the writer that understands Batman as a character the most, here he is less grumpy and cynical than Frank Miller's Batman and less dry than Jeph Loeb's Batman, which makes Snyder's Batman the most interesting Batman I have read so far。 Actually 4。5 stars, this book only gets this rating because it seems to me that Scott Snyder is the writer that understands Batman as a character the most, here he is less grumpy and cynical than Frank Miller's Batman and less dry than Jeph Loeb's Batman, which makes Snyder's Batman the most interesting Batman I have read so far。 。。。more
