Anthony Bridgerton is een rokkenjager。 Dat werd duidelijk in het vorige boek en nóg duidelijker in de Netflix-serie。 Hoe komt hij dan aan de vrouw en heeft hij daar zelf eigenlijk wel invloed op？ Heel fijn om opnieuw in deze tijd te duiken met een mooi verhaal nieuwe mensen （zoals Kate en Edwina） en oude bekenden （zoals Daphne en Simon）。

3。5 rounded up。 I watched the Netflix series but didn’t read the first book。 I liked this & thought it was good， ok。 Happy to see it brought to life innShondaland。 I’m not sure I’ll continue reading the series as it didn’t grab me like the show did。

A wonderful continuation of the Bridgerton series。 If you fell in love with the family in book 1 you will surely enjoy book 2。 Easy reading during these crazy times。

Okay so 4 stars may be generous but I just really enjoyed this book。 Having watched Bridgerton and been underwhelmed by Daphne and Simon’s relationship （and that’s ignoring the dubious consent in the sexual aspects of their relationship which to be honest made me very uncomfortable） I decided to skip the first book and see what the second had to offer because I had liked the other characters we met in the show。 As you can tell I was pleasantly surprised。 Kate is a brilliant heroine in my opinion Okay so 4 stars may be generous but I just really enjoyed this book。 Having watched Bridgerton and been underwhelmed by Daphne and Simon’s relationship （and that’s ignoring the dubious consent in the sexual aspects of their relationship which to be honest made me very uncomfortable） I decided to skip the first book and see what the second had to offer because I had liked the other characters we met in the show。 As you can tell I was pleasantly surprised。 Kate is a brilliant heroine in my opinion， she isn’t the star of season but rather someone who is mostly unnoticed but not a wallflower。 She is feisty and intelligent and I loved the verbal sparring between her and Anthony。 I have to say book Anthony was a pleasant surprise， he didn’t have the annoyed tendre for the opera singer that they put in the show and while his issue surrounding his fathers death seemed a little contrived I at least could understand his aversion to a love match。Overall this book is a fun historical romance that included some moments that made me laugh out loud。 Is it brilliant fiction， no， but did it help pick me up during what has been a hard week， yes。 And that， for me， is what this genre is all about。 。。。more
